Default Out of Body Experiences—Have You Ever Had One? Any Tips?

    Hello all,

I have known about OBEs for a while, but I've never mustered up any sort of ambition to try it until now. Has anyone read any of Monroe's books on the subject? Or anything by anyone with any type of credibility? What's the best way to do it?

I may have done it by accident...it's a pretty intense experience. It was when I was about to fall asleep (that's why I say maybe...it could have been merely a sleep phenomena). I flew to New York city and encountered a large fire where I helped rescue people from a burning building. The next day I read in the newspaper that the night before there had been a major apartment fire in New York city and of course, bystanders had helped rescue people from the fire. I've had a few other experiences like that...

    Hi Vivek,
There are a few very interesting threads started here previously on the topic of OOBE; especially Mod Jake's thread -" OOB and RV" I included the link in a PM to you and suggest you take a look - you won't be disappointed!
    Best of luck

I have done it after a NDE and it was very easy at that time as I could go anywhere I wanted within two minutes. What I found very surprising is that you take a copy of your body with you. I'm not sure if others can see it but when I raised my hand to touch something I could see my arm. It was so amazing I really enjoyed it. It is easy to do if you wake up in the night after about 3 or 4 hours of sleep and try it. I also have the ability to wake up during a dream and I can keep the dream going while awake. If it stops I can think of it as I fall back to sleep and go right back into it. I can also control my dreams path. If something starts to happen that I do not like I turn it to a positive direction. I have had Percognitive dreams all my life so I dont' know if that has anything to do with it. I have Monroe's book and I agree with him. Good luck with your journey.

yeah, me too...Do you have any explanations for your experiences...family history, etc..I'm also curious if you are able or even try to use that skill in a productive way?

@Precog it is true that you take an exact copy of your physical body with you when OOB experiencing; however your 'memory' whilst in OOB is separate from your 'physical body' memory hence OOBE's can be difficult to remember upon waking but not for all. This is also explained in Mod Jake's amazing thread on OOB and RV (remote viewing).

There is a good free e-book about it out there. It´s called School Of Out-Of-The-Body travel, a practical guide.

    Here´s the link:

    http://www.obe4u.com/files/SOBT.pdf

It´s pretty practical indeed and should get you started easily.

    Cheers,

    Raf.

The last three generations of my family have had Precog dreams (Mother, Grand Mother and Great G. Mother) I remember most of what I see when back in body. I can also hear and see what is going on at the location of my body while out but have no ability to move or talk. I found this out while I was out of body and my wife started talking to me. I went out without trying to do it and my eyes were open. When I did not respond to my wife she thought I had died and started to freak out. I had to get back to talk to her. I laughed till I cryed as it was the most incredible experience of my life. She had some words for me which I will not include here.

I have had two types of OBEs. Two of one type were when I was sick and both times came out. The first one was when I was about 4 years old. I still remember the feeling of freedom and joy out there, and being told to go back. The second was when i was an adult and was given the choice of whether or not to go back.

Then there is the other type which I did ore than once, where I would sit and completely relax and imagine focussing me departing through a funnel in the top of my head. I would feel when I had accomplished this and travelled around. This freaked out some when I related where they had been, upon my return.

    These events just happened.

I have had OBE's most of my life. Many people do when in dream state and do not recognize it. I imagine if they went under hypnosis, they would discover a great deal. Most of mine deal with exploration and helping others, though I have had some very odd ones that I am always wearing the same dark blue jumpsuit with a strange insignia on it, and I am flying a craft which looks similar but much more advance to a large jet fighter. I cannot explain this a whole lot because I only retain small portions of it. I'm never afraid in these situations with the jet fighter, but I have had lots of spiritual warfare dreams that do get quite hairy and the energy is very uncomfortable. They like to touch me, and I dislike it.

The second OOB I experienced occurred spontaneously whilst praying/meditating. My body exited via my naval area; floated toward the ceiling and through the roof. I found myself outside standing on the ground and then watched the rooftops on all the houses in the village become small black dots as I traveled up and up. I was suspended and staring at millions of stars.. I could see them 360 and they were stunning and infinite.

I do not recall enough to know where I am from, who I am working with, though I can tell you there is this utter sense of peace and control, no fear. I can also tell you that I have always been drawn to the the 7 sisters. I have never felt "home" here.

Oh, one more interesting thing, the color deep red has always had a weird affect on me. I am drawn to cherry glass like a moth to flame, I cannot explain it. It almost mesmerizes me. It is my favorite color, though I have mostly blue in my wardrobe here.

That being said, I avoid same color in astral as the effect is not positive, and I know to stay clear.

    That`s fascinating!
If this can be called OBE my first memory is the moment of birth, I am floating around in formless shape seeing the birth room and nurses and rest of them faintly and then clear thought - Here I am ,here we go.
Then I guess I slipped into body and all rest was blank until age of five or so...

I have a storing feeling to leave but that means not to go anywhere in any particular system , just into higher dimension where I feel my home is.
I have inner sympathies to Arcturus and Pleiades but I don`t have a feeling that there lies my home.

I don't think my home is anywhere near here and at the same time is all around us. This is a very interesting place, and I feel like I am meant to be here for something. I can just take each day, study, seek, and live a life of integrity and honor.

Yes - I've had loads. My advice would be to take it easy and not rush it - just take your time and experiment. The best way to do it (for me) is the in the short gap between lying down to sleep and sleeping. You get a sort of buzzzing feeling - like you're falling out of bed or something. This is quite common and we tend to fight it. When this happens just let go and RELAX and it will happen. But don't do too much too soon ....... there are loads of books - Monroe is the daddy but his experiences happened spontaneously like mine. Robert Waggoner is quite good - he touches on lucid dreaming as well . .. . imo this is definitely the gateway to everything.
