Spanish Astronomers Claim Dwarf Sun Beyond Pluto

The idea of a new planet being discovered in our Solar System is pretty exciting. Even more so because of the many theories about "planet-x" or "Nibiru" being associated with space aliens and the doomsday prophecies of 2012. Scientists at places like NASA and famous observatories have deflected inquiries about the discovery for a few years now, mainly because they feared being associated with these "fringe" theories. But like it or not -- it has happened. Well... According to a team of Spanish artronomers who call themselves the StarViewer Team.

The group made the rounds of all the news web sites in the past two weeks, claiming they discovered something very significant. It's almost twice the size of Jupiter and just beyond our furthest planetoid, Pluto. Although it's not a planet, it appears to have planets or large satellites encircling it. It's what astronomers call a "brown dwarf star" and its official name is "G1.9". . . .

Quantum mechanics creates location-based cryptography

Imagine a form of encrypted communication so secure that it’s physically impossible to access it unless you’re actually at the location where you’re supposed to hear it. Quantum mechanics makes location-based cryptography possible - without any pesky codes or keys.

The basic idea is simple - create an encrypted communication where your actual physical location is the only key required to gain access to the hidden information. It would eliminate any need to create and store decryption keys, which is disproportionately the most complex and time-intensive task in cryptography. You could encrypt a secure line so that the only people who could ever hear would have to be at, say, two secure military bases, eliminating any chance of someone listening in from a third location.

And now computer scientists at UCLA have figured out how to do it. The big problem holding back location-based cryptography was that triangulation, the classical method of verifying the receiver’s location is the correct one, can be forged if enemies work together to provide just the right combination of wrong information. But that’s just classical physics - quantum mechanics has that problem solved. The solution lies in the no-cloning theorem, an outgrowth of the uncertainty principle that basically states it’s impossible to create an exact replica of a quantum state.

This means that, when the secure transmitter sends out multiple quantum bits, or qubits, the intended receiver is the only device that can verify the information and confirm they are who they say they are. If an adversary was trying to listen in, they’d still need multiple transmitters to mimic the supposed location, but that’s now physically impossible because the first adversary would need to both store the qubit’s state and send it on to the next confederate, and quantum mechanics says that’s impossible.

As the authors note in their abstract:

Therefore, our work shows that position-based quantum cryptography is one of the rare examples...for which there is such a strong separation between classical and quantum cryptography. Our results open a fascinating new direction for position-based security in cryptography where security of protocols is solely based on the laws of physics and proofs of security do not require any pre-existing infrastructure.

James Penniston was an Air Force Staff Sergeant at a joint US Air Force and Royal Air Force base at Bentwaters. On December 26th, 1980 he was sent to investigate strange lights on the forest. In the forest he came up to a triangular craft that was able to examine up close. July 29, 2010–Investigative reporter Linda Moulton Howe presented new witness testimony in the Rendlesham Forest UFO case, and discussed anomalous lights photographed near crop circles, and an update on honey bee deaths. In a two-segment report, she interviewed Monroe Nevels, who worked as a Staff Sgt. for RAF Bentwaters Disaster Preparedness during the December 1980 UFO incident. "I was told that an airman had been abducted by a spacecraft" from Rendlesham forest, Nevels revealed, speaking on the record for the first time. He detailed his monitoring of low gamma radiation found in the forest soil tripod marks left by the UFO, and noted that trees within the circular radius of the craft were scorched. Nevels also described seeing lights that were like pencil-thin laser beams which could rapidly jump from one location to another.

First hour guest, Peter Davenport, the Director of the Natl. UFO Reporting Center, shared updates. There has been a cluster of dramatic sightings over the last seven weeks-- overt displays of "multiple objects seen over populated areas and witnessed by many people. I don't believe I've seen a phenomenon like that since I started this job 16 years ago," he declared. He also talked about his proposal (PDF file) to use a passive radar system to detect UFOs in real time.
