    Sounds nasty,
But also sounds like its better revealed so it can then be dealt with.

    Great quote JB.

Had squash soup and an avocado for dinner. I've cut all meats out of my diet. I'm a type O blood. Any suggestions from the villagers who have been on vegetarian or raw foods diet? I know that type Os are suppose to eat meat but I naturally just stopped pretty much. Felt a lot of heaviness and almost couldn't stand the site of it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Nora
Not sure I can help...I eat for nutrition and listen to my body. Other than a couple of times I felt the need, I haven't eaten meat in almost three years now, and eat organic fresh fruits, vegetables, lots of nuts and seeds (just love 'em!), homemade pasta, bread without bromide...you get the picture. No GMO's. No sugar. No high fructose corn syrup. No soy...most soy is gmo. No processed foods.

Sounds like a lot of no's, but I've never been healthier or happier than since I've started eating this way.

The best advice I can offer, if I may, is listen to your body...it will let you know what it needs. If you need some meat, get the best quality meat you can...you won't need much. Most people eat way too much meat, thanks to the beef industry lobby.

    Hope that helps.

Back in the day, I would have said that those who prey on young people, especially those who leach on to the vulnerable young people, and especially-especially those who twist and torture the mentally ill young people, would have a special reward waiting for them. And, I would have said how glad I am that I didn't have to decide their punishment/fate...and I would have said that these predatory skum should have even been more glad.

Alas, there is no "reward" in the end. So, what do you replace that with? Forgiveness isn't really in the cards today. Empathy for their parents, feeling what their parents feel, has always been a part of me in all my roles-teacher, mentor, parent, coach... Anger doesn't stay with me. So much sadness does.

My mother was (is) uber religious Pisces ... not bible belt nutso ... but quite dedicated and involved. She has been doing volunteer work with inmates for the last several years. Very close to my mother growing up. Not until I left home for college did I ever lose any respect for her (except I didn't like organized religion from the very start and refused to join the church)

My dad was a rather cold Virgo. We were never close ... but no major issues. Did not drink but was a workaholic working 2 full-time jobs (while mother stayed home with the kids ... not unusual going back 50 years or so). Most he shared with me (on a personal level aside from financial support) was he taught me how to play chess and we had fun doing that together (at least until I started to beat him on a regular basis and he lost interest)

Anyhoo ... they divorced soon after I left for school. They were going through councelling with a guy from the church. Turns out he swept my mother off her feet and they had an affair. What is it about males working for the church taking advantage sexually of their positions??? But I digress.

Actually I was working my way through all posts made whilst I slept

This thread is usually so active it is no small task keeping up with.

Come to think about it ... I expect that was the first time I ever shared that story with anyone outside of the immediate family ...

The dust has settled, the porcupine has withdrawn its needles. There is no doubt in my mind that it is thanks to you who are sharing with us your gifts. Love soothes the savage beast, and I just don't have that kind of strength. Maybe some day. I hope that one day I will have that kind of strength, but even then I hope you are all there to share it with. Difficult days ahead, I surmise. Still have one daughter yet to turn 13. Of course, she swears up one side & down the other that she won't go there. I believe her. She will have battles as well, she'll just change it up for us so we don't get bored with problems already solved lol.

I'm visualizing the snow where I will live soon. I have never been one for cold, but I do love to watch snow out the window when a pot of soup is on the stove. There is a mulling spice mix that I adore, I put it in simple apple juice on the stove and I could drown myself in it. Can't find it anywhere any more, but I suspect I will when I'm in the clean, cold air sometime soon. There won't be any gangbangers in the immediate vicinity, and there won't be so much chaotic energy.

There will be plenty to do, what with the new garden freshly planted with the seeds I bought...and the horses, and so much to experience. I want a little home, not so small we are stepping on each other, but not massive spaces to get lost in. I love flowers, and I can smell the clean dirt and feel the natural texture just thinking about it. There will be NO fire ants-not allowed. Of course, they will be replaced with the occasional confused snakes and the many, many icky looking spiders. Ewwww. But NO fire ants. Just saying.

Open air....crisp and clean...I can smell it and feel the damp of the morning in my throat. I can smell the hay, freshly cut. I can even smell the horse poo, and that's okay because there will be NO fire ants. I can walk barefooted outside any time I want...as long as I watch for the said snakes & spiders... I can even touch a tree... I can feel the rough bark, it's tough exterior protecting the wise spirit inside. And I can feel the presence of the Spirit, and hear it whisper in the wind.

Here and now...I'm in the country, listening to the silence only snowfall can bring and feeling the snowflakes on my eyelashes. Bliss...

I haven't found anything interesting to post, so I'll just tell you about my cookery.

Made a vegetable stir fry with onion and celery sauteed soft in olive oil and a pinch of salt which brings out the sweetness of the onions.

Tossed in orange bell pepper, broccoli caps, mushrooms, and nappa cabbage.

Dressed it with mirin (sweet sake wine), tamari soy sauce, and sesame oil.

    Yum.
Yum indeed. Nothing interesting to post?? With that recipe you could become a TV chef...
    My mouth is watering.
I have some left over Quinoa curry which could now do with those veggies...hmmm...sake gravy...yum
And I'm eating those thin German/danish spice cookies, the ones that are about half way to a gingersnap. yum! German soul food.

Ahhh, so good to be home. Got a call that my mom was ill after my last job New Years Day....played a wedding, double dip (ceremony and reception), but for goodness sake who wants their anniversary to be on New Years Day...

Anyway, mom is 81 with congestive heart failure, diabetes, arrythmia, high blood pressure but insists on living alone in the family home. One of my cousins stopped by to say hi and found her in her recliner having a great deal of difficulty breathing...seems she had a cold, did nothing about it, and it ended up in her chest. Drove down to Connecticut, got her to the doctor...walking pneumonia. Won't come home with me...won't go to my brothers. So we will be taking turns staying with her until it clears up.

I'm not sure what's going on lately, but I seem to be attracting hawks. A few weeks ago, a hawk landed on the ground not more than 10 feet in front of me, stayed a minute and took off just fine...so I don't think he was hurt. Last week while I was on my deck, a huge hawk landed on a large oak branch that reaches into the backyard. I stared at him. He stared at me, not moving. We must have been like that for a full 3 minutes before he took off. So I attributed the visits to having my daughters yip-yip toy poodle over to play with my dogs...perhaps they thought she might be a tasty morsel...but she wasn't outside when the two events happened. This evening as I was waiting in the parking lot for my husband to get out of work before we headed out to dinner, a big old hawk flew onto the top of a telephone pole perhaps 15 feet from me at the most and stayed there until Bob opened the car door.

It's just plain weird. Then again, I have a friend who has been having the same kind of experiences with owls, so maybe it's not so weird and I'm just noticing it more...being in the here and now seems to do that to the simplest of tasks.
the bird that hit my window was, in retrospect, a young red tailed hawk. my business partner and I were having a VERY serious argument where I actually began to yell. Which is an impossible thing to get me to do. like three times this life, so far.

The moment his email hit my in box, the young hawk slammed into the window, closest to the computer's exact location.

then, when we finished the argument, two weeks later, I was so upset that I said that I would finish this life out with him, but would not work with him again. I was that pissed and upset. The moment I said that..and was in distress at that exact time, suddenly, out of nowhere.. 50-60 or more crows appeared in my backyard and converged on the mother of the young hawk.

She had been hanging around for the two weeks, looking for her young one. They converged on her ....and chased her out of my back yard and completely out of the area. The first occurrence was the one eclipse, the second was the finishing of the series, two weeks later.

    Love

    Nora
I am a type O and have been thriving as a vegetarian for 21 years now. I am hale and hearty. Healthy as a horse or any other animal that almost never gets sick. How about a mutt dog? They don't know what sick is.LOL

The doctor who wrote the blood type book has recanted her thesis. I could have told her she was full of sh!t. Her reasoning was that O's were the oldest blood type. Nice left brained BS IMO.

In closing, diet is personal and emotional. Whatever you eat, think nutrition and make sure you love what you eat. Penance or 'politically correct' eating will 'poison' whatever you eat. Don't forget to bless and charge your food either!

And then there are the times they break your heart. Police? Really? Anyone who has a small bit of light to spare, we could sure use it right now
Not much to go on here 1. I will just say some people have to be removed from our lives. I did it to my mom for 9 years. Some people just can't behave themselves, or can only behave like themselves and need to be kept at a distance. I told friends of mine that anyone who told my mother how to contact me would be an ex-friend immediately. It worked. Self love and self preservation have to be in good working order to maintain the emotional stance necessary to be effective however. Many people just fold because self worth is not strong enough.

Everyone will be okay. Alcohol wears off. Broken bones and broken walls are really just things, and they are fixable. The psyche of a child....sigh....is not so easily mended. Tempers, not mine, but tempers can do as much damage when words are red hot swords and spears.

Why am I the only freaking sane person here?!?!?!?!??!?!?!
We, the sane or half sane, are few and just sprinkled throughout humanity. Like the 'mother' of a batch of yogurt ot cider vinegar it is for us to colonize the world. Find allies and remember the pearls and swine meme of Jesus.

And I'm eating those thin German/danish spice cookies, the ones that are about half way to a gingersnap. yum! German soul food.
    Do you mean Spekulatius?

They are actually of Dutch origin: speculaas

There are several interpretations for the origins of the name Speculaas. It may derive from Latin speculum, which means mirror, and refer to the fact that the images are cut as a mirrored bas-relief into a wooden stamp which is then used to decorate the Speculaas. Another explanation of the name refers to the Latin word speculator which, among other meanings, could also refer to a bishop or St Nicholas' epithet "he who sees everything". Specerij the Dutch word for spice is another possible origin.

They are trays yummy!!!!! With so many wonderful spices, they MUST be good for one

Huge winds blowing through the Alps. Had a bad/short night.....

Was thinking a lot about why people stay together. My folks (Dad a Sag/mom a Capi) have been married 53 years!
Was not always rosy and they do bicker a lot in their aging years, but for the most part they are still "friends", who enjoy each others company.
