Thank you to all who gave so generously of their knowledge of the tarot. I ate it all up I have to say that much of the information is over my head, but I got the gist.

Here and Now...catching up. I so love the Village energy. I hope I contribute to it in a positive way. School meeting was 3 and a half freaking hours long. I am constantly reminded why I no longer teach. There are people who really care, and their hands are tied by those who are overpaid, over-connected to politicians and policymakers, and under-connected to students. It is a constant battle to keep education individualized for my daughter, who cannot function, let alone excel, in the cookie-cutter model. I fought the school district where I worked because they wanted me to re-code all of my students, making them all fit into one categorization. Well, of course I absolutely will not do that when it is not only illegal but unjust. And I have been fighting, tooth and nail, every step of the way for my daughter, from the time she was 3 until...well, still. And she turns 16 tomorrow. Today's meeting was so that the school could correct, in writing, my daughter's plan, which has not been followed in the first place, but also which was not meeting her needs. Since they were in violation of the law by not following it, and since I began copying the superintendent of the school district (that has 37,000 students), they decided to try to "fix" things. I already withdrew her from public school, and it was a complete waste of time. But they needed it to cover their arses. Woohoo for them. We attended because if we had not they would have decided anything they wanted and legally would have been allow to change things without our knowledge. On the one hand, it wouldn't have mattered since she doesn't attend there. But, it is my hope she can return to public school when we get into a smaller environment. The plan follows her wherever she goes.

I love my cleavage crystal. I LOVE it. It's a keeper for sure. And jet is my new bestest friend ever. Thank you to everyone who turned a kind thought our way. It made a huge difference

I've been floundering a bit on PA. Wondering if I should just give it up and spend my time more 'productively'. As I have decided to NOT stockpile gold or silver or food or water or guns and ammo, maybe I was in the wrong forum.

My only plan is switching to another reality when need be. So imagine my surprise to discover there is another reality on PA. For some reason, I never looked in this thread before. Now, this is fun!

The forum is like a huge castle, full of different chambers, towers, court yards, dungeons, vegetable gardens, great halls, secret nooks and crannies...and .this little Village in the shadow of the castle is a refuge and even door to another dimension.

The Turrialba volcano has mysteriously calmed down again, and I attribute it to our Village energy. Very strange.
But nothing surprises me after the way a villager woke me up last night.

Now we have to try and help Ernie discover who he really is.
He can then say Yes, No, or NO WAY!!!

I say Ernie is a dreamer and a very good writer.
But maybe I should let others go first.
Too late. It burst out of me.
There, I said it.

Very funny! Her astro chat sounds just like me....except I can't stand new agers.
Couldn't even handle yoga classes after 1990...especially here in Costa Rica, where they really have reinvented the metaphysical wheel.

What is shadow work?

Shadow work.
In a nut shell is bringing forward and making friends with your inner demons,
all the things you don't like about yourself. It's a layers thing and a gradual process.
When i first found out about the shadow self through reading Jung,
i was like " i don't have a shadow". .lol .Boy was i wrong, lol.
It took me a while to have the guts to fess up to all the things i had
buried. The things you "stuff" inside, avoid , deny, run from,
like your projections onto others are parts of your shadow.
You need to be brutally honest with yourself to do it completely.
And that's a real challenge for some.
Depressive episodes i renamed as Shadow Work and i
learned to embrace those times rather than go into melt down.
The important thing to realize is that its a process,
it has an ending, to allow the feelings come to the surface,
and process them, rather than avoid, hide from them.
That's what causes people to get stuck in long term
depression, and grief, the inability to process their emotions,
and move through to the other end of the tunnel.
It's always darkest before the dawn, etc, etc.

You can't " know thy self" fully without doing shadow work, IMO and IME
And it sets you free BIG TIME!
The end result being wholeness, integration.

No shadow work leads to neurosis,
and the shadow can even get bigger than
your non shadow self.. we see that a fair bit in
mental illnesses. And in those that have stuffed
our planet up. Psychopaths.. total shadow.

If someone has deep shadow work to do (or not so deep) and goes deeply into their shadow -does shadow work- their is a gift as a result; complete Harmonious integration within the Soul, Spirit and Anthropos of their human being.

That's just truth. If we are not slaves why should we like to work. Me either, big lazy arse here. If someone suggested I work 8 hours a day I'd laugh all over their coffee break. But much of what I earn isn't work....I ride horses, and write and talk to people...that's not work. To me. Now, getting out of the truck to hike my lazy arse to get gas would have been work yesterday. I would be doing something I dind't want to do. But I spend four hours before that wading in the mud leading horses back and forth for at least 3 miles of back and forth..not work.......


.........I noted somewhere earlier up thread we are seldom successful or energized doing what we don't feel like doing. BEing who I am means, horses, counseling , and writing. And that is what supports me. When I accepted that... I had more work than I could choose from. My family does not consider this 'real jobs' but they are fixed incomes. The more I want to do, doing what i like to do....just doing it...here comes more money.........

Another post I wish I could thank more than once.

In my case, started out with piano lessons, since it was something I could do when ill during childhood. I found out quickly that it was a wonderful way for me to release emotions a child is not normally allowed to do. Anger, fear, loneliness, depression, frustration...all released and ultimately transformed to peace through playing. Could be one of the reasons I am fairly even tempered most of the time.

Joined a lot of music groups in high school and ultimately attempted to get a degree in music. Never did get my degree...severe performance anxiety when playing solo. Because I would open myself completely when I played, it felt like 'walking naked down main street' when performing for others and I would end up getting nauseus and lightheaded.

Long story short...marriage, children, divorce. Left with two children and a mortgage to pay after being a stay at home mom, I turned to the only thing I knew...music. I couldn't believe I actually got paid for doing something I loved so much! Because I had to pay bills, the performance anxiety didn't seem quite so bad anymore. I used to pretend I had a paper bag over my head in an attempt to be 'invisible' when working...kind of like the unknown comic, only being the unknown pianist. It sounds silly to me now...today I find my greatest asset is the ability to 'bare my soul' when playing and allow the music to 'speak through me'. Now that's real music therapy!

Today I'm old enough to pick and choose the work I take...wow, I still find it hard to call it work.

A flutist I work with occasionally emailed me the following video of a David Lanz interview taken around the time of the release of "Sacred Road". She said she had heard his words coming out of my mouth before and thought I would enjoy it.

The only suggestion I can make to Ernie is to follow your bliss and the money will come. Whatever you do, do it from your heart and the pure enjoyment of it. If you love it, others will as well.

Watching the "Sh*t New Age girls say" and the ensuing comments, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry either.
So whats with the label anyhow?
And the judgment?
Is it a religion?
Isnt "new age" just a transition?
A melting/merging of east & west?
A letting go of old?
Doesnt astrology, smudging, crystals,candles, shamanism etc fall into this bracket?
And karma?
Pantheism?
Doesnt it help to got through all that to get to this?

My spiritual longing has taken me along speedy highways with short pit stops, and tranquil byways where I often stopped, for picnics . All was welcome.
As I keep saying to my "Christian" father: The journey matters not, the destination is the same.
