    Interdimensional beings.

Complex, oscillating biological (in some cases, plasmoid and etheric) entities inhabiting the same outer, and in some cases "inner" spaces as us.

Most that we know about in exopolitics are not aliens, have been here, on and off for millenia.

Unlikely terms to be adopted by the UN? but they have a nice ring to them (only focusing on the positive)!

Guess these are my Fav's so far..
    Star Friends/Star Family
    Star Dwellers
    Star Guardians
    Stellar Relations
    Soul Brothers/Sisters
    Soul Family
    Off Worlders

Once again I agree with WhiteFeather's comment..

"Q. Why do we, primitive aliens who reside on earth need to put labels on everything."

Spoken words and terms really do seem primitive compared to what we are capable of.

Maybe we can thank Hollywood and popular culture but the term “Alien” for me has a somewhat negative connotation, implying something dark, scary, monstrous and separate or different to us, I think most of us would agree that is a not entirely true.

Although Extra-Terrestrial may be a little kinder I would like to know just for fun if anyone has any ideas new or old to better represent our brothers and sisters?
    What about Strangers

lol strangers makes me think back to when I was little and Mum said "Don't talk to strangers" and "Don't take sweets from strangers" lol and "Don't get in cars with strangers". I don't recall her saying don't go into a strangers space ship though lol . I think Star Children is nice and Star born and Space babies and Planet hoppers

Well, I wouldn't jump to "brothers and sisters" so soon. There's enough evidence of dark ET activity (abductions, mutilations, US missile tampering, mental interference, government and corperate liason and influence) to suggest they aren't really Visitors even, but Unwelcome Visitors at best.
There is only a very limited few that are involved in these Malevolent actions against humans and are aligned with governments. Most are either of Reptoid or Grey, races. With the exception of the Rogue Alpha Centauri group, which is commonly referred to as the Nords/Sweds which originated from the Alcyone/Aldebaran Systems. And are considered Malevolent races. Along with those from Orion Empire and Sirius B.

Most but not all other races are either considered Benevolent or Neutrals. And a good majority of them are working to help us out. I think the general reference in calling them Star Brothers/Sisters is in our genetic relations to them. We carry 22-23 different races DNA/Genetics in us.

    Hi SoulAppreciation,

How about ... astral entites? How about ... elder hominids from right here that went to ground when we rose against them long ago?

Or how about both of those things? Maybe they're underground (literally and/or figuratively), and have the same ability to operate on the astral that we do, only far more evolved. Maybe all the assaults on our pineal gland etc is part of their campaign to keep us underfoot while overhead.

Joedjemal, your story is brilliant. They don't sound like the ones doing all the abducting though. You've probably read the book 'The real Middle Earth' by Brian Bates, but if you haven't I highly recommend it. It talks in depth about the non-physical entities that our (British Isles) version of the shamen (called Wodens, as in the Norse all-father) would see and communicate with after purging themselves. It's a great read, and it showed me that even stuffy old England was once a lot more vibrantly spiritual and mystical than I had ever thought. The Roman Empire largely sorted that out though, and then their new religious mask turned up and really finished the job.

I don't dismiss the idea of extra-terrestrials, but I find it the least likely explanation of what most would probably describe as 'alien'. Just my opinion and gut feeling. If there actually are visitors from another planet that are more spiritually evolved than us and want to help us out ... yeah, 'alien' would probably be a rude thing to call them!

    Borden.
Hi Borden, I was a little confused by something in your post (thanks for the book suggestion though, I think I'd like to take a look too). You say that these Shamans were called Wodens after Wotan/Odin and that they communicated with nature spirits (I'm guessing wights?) but that it pretty much stopped because of the Roman Empire. My confusion is that Germanic paganism wasn't introduced in the British Isles until after the fall of the Roman Empire; it was the druids who suffered at Roman hands.

By way of reconciliation the closest I can imagine is that they were Anglo-Saxon 'mystics' whose ways were lost with the adoption of Christianity, but that would only be a guess.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As for terminology, though, the word alien literally means somebody who "is not us". It is a way of referring to people, customs, etc., of which we are not a part. It literally translates the Greek 'xenos', meaning the same. Now pointing out that something is 'other', or 'alien' or 'xenos' is not negative unless we attach to it xenophobic connotations. Though we might refer to Sirians as Sirians and Tau-Cetians as Tau-Cetians, the only really efficient way to speak of everybody who is not part of what we consider to be Earth-Human civilisation is with the word 'alien'.

If connotations of prejudice come along with that word, it would be far easier and more logical for us to divorce such connotations from the bare bones of the word than to create a cumbersome word that, since it is a new creation, has no history we might dislike.
