Here and now the three day snow event has finally cleared as of yesterday. A look around the forum and clicking on videos has made me groan. If I made it to the end of a clip it was time wasted. Most I had to just close out the window. Perhaps it is the inner rumblings of my being that are making the outer noise seem more irritating. It is clearly time for me to start making some changes in my life, as peaceful and comfortable as it is. Maybe doing something besides reading and opining on the forum is all that is needed.

It is very good to have Ulli back in the Village. Her absence was an energetic hole that made the Village feel unbalanced for me.

Frank Carson,...R.I.P.

Yesterday in Belfast(Ireland)- the streets were packed//lined for the funeral of 85 yr old 'old time comedian', Frank Carson, known as 'The Prime Minister of Fun'

He died of stomach cancer, -but had kept on working until the end

He was famous for his two catch phrases: "Its the way oi tell em!" & "Its a cracker!"

He was popular in a time before 'P.C' was invented,(back in 1970's) and although at times cutting, his humour was also self effacing.

So in a tribute to F.C. & his humour, and to cheer up all those who are still snowbound,.....and those who might also just appreciate a good laugh..........I offer this............ 'Snowman Prank'

That film is a real and rare treat.

That film is why we have a member using the handle 'cellardoor'.

It is existential film making at it's finest.

You will remember Frank....big bunnies....and the line "Why are you wearing that stupid human suit?"

Looking at the preview, I see the film has been presented in a 'horror' format, which it is definitely not of that nature.

I don't like the financially oriented (see this film!) misrepresentation of the film (as a preview and indicated but falsified film direction/content)... but if it helps get those who never suffer a deeper thought, if it helps to get them into the trap of hearing and seeing 'mind opening' scenes and hearing the associated words.....then more power to it.

I mean, all I ask out of a film viewing, is this:

Donny Darko delivers, which is what makes it a rare treat, and among a handful of functional existential films. For example, in terms of reaching people, the people who need it, Donny Darko may be judged, in the final analysis, as being more effective than 2001: A space odyssey.

I loved what it did and I loved the message it brought, which was an existential point of emphasis that will shear and scar the mind of the 'average' viewer....it will brand it, in fact. A film strong enough so that at the end of the film, there will be the seeds of difference in the average person, seeds that cannot easily be shed or lost. For the film has aspects of it that are highly memorable for the deepest parts of humans - the parts that seek answers, the parts that hide in us, no matter how we may misdirect and misfeed them.

Thoughts of permanence in the mind... of the nature of: think outside the box, be outside the box, be human, be your best, understand that the world is not as it seems.

I thought I told this one before, but searching the forum served no yield, here goes.

One night, my friend Paul and I, were on my front porch, drinking as per usual when the two of us were ever together. I would start passing out, falling asleep, right there in the purple folding chair, and suddenly I would be awake, wide awake, and good for a while, yet. It occurred to me that Paul was doing, well, something. So, when next I felt the lull come upon me, I remained aware and present as I disassociated with my body, doing the lucid hypnogogic thing, and saw when Paul started to do his thing. Ok, let me describe Paul as DW with longer hair, same aspect about him, only he is more skeptical. Anyway, I snapped back into my body and whipped my head around, and imagine- the pupils of his eyes, increased in size to perhaps the breadth of a fifty-cent piece. It was a flash, an instant, but unmistakably clear. Naturally this image elicited some remark from me, and Paul just laughed, and said, "I have this movie you gotta see." Which was, Donnie Darko. There is a part where he has the weird blob thing extending from his heart, which his projection along the stream of time thing. Paul comes along a few days later, movie in hand and we go to watch, and well, there's a shot of this on the dvd menu screen, and Paul puts it in, and waits for it to appear, and I freaked out a bit, as the visual was nearly identical to what I had seen. I freaked out for a second, and we both had great fun and proceeded to watch what has become one of my all time favorite movies. Don't bother with the sequel.

The pace of life seems to have stepped up for me lately, but nothing exciting to report. I've just taken on a few extra shifts in work. Worked yesterday and back in tomorrow. There's also alot of birthdays in my family at this time of year. The comedy gods thought it hilarious to make all the females in the family Pisceans lol.
I've been catching up here when I can. I miss everyone and the village is always on my mind. Been feeling really calm lately, no high weirdness, anxiety etc.
