Can't sleep

Congrats to astrid.

She just tied the record for most love in a thread with modwiz who received that many "thank yous" when all he said was he was going to bed.

But wait ... the day is young.

Perhaps astrid will yet take sole possession of the most love from the village award???

Of late I have been crashing early like 9 or so then I'm
wide awake at 3-5 then sleep again til 9 or 10
That's a lot of sleep
But obviously where I'm at right now
This last week since I had a certain altered state "event"
my creative self has been exploding out .
Past experiences has shown me that this is the
norm for me . Sleep seems to be a big part of the
process

I've been cleaning out stuff, getting ready for the move. Came across this bit of humor from the Falkland War and I cracked up once more.

A newspaper reports that bored Royal Air Force pilots stationed on the Falkland Islands have devised what they consider a marvelous new game. Noting that the local penguins are fascinated by airplanes, the pilots search out a beach where the birds are gathered and fly slowly along it at the water's edge. Perhaps ten thousand penguins turn their heads in unison watching the planes go by, and when the pilots turn around and fly back, the birds turn their heads in the opposite direction, like spectators at a slow-motion tennis match. Then, the paper reports "The pilots fly out to sea and directly to the penguin colony and overfly it. Heads go up, up , up and then ten thousand penguins fall over gently onto their backs."

IMO. The thing we do when youngest and the thing we do when oldest. thus the thing in the middle, the marching up and down the square in societal conformity uniforms (the job money life dance) as the thing that is unnatural, to me.

One of the many delights of being retired, divorced, children grown, ... my cat and I each sleep when we will .

Cannot relate to any of dat ...

Unless of course we move beyond here and now and get a "blast from the past" when I was single, no children and I was so detached that the only cat I had was the next door neighbor's who I could shoosh home.

That said ... there is *NOTHING* in this life that means more to me than a big hug from my 10 year old ... (wifee and older son close ... don't get me wrong).

Only comfort from continuing to work is when the check hits???

my Dad retired a couple years back, and his personality changed almost immediately. he smiles constantly now, so much so that my brother and sisters and I affectionately call him 'The Joker'.

once tight with a buck, he's now a guy who'll have a few beers and start handing out $50 bills at the bar. he's actually done this several times!

i was thrilled when i was laid off a couple years ago. the 8 months of unemployment was a joy. i lived like an 80 yr old retiree--up late at night, wakeup late in the morning, sipping tea all afternoon between naps...boy, it was the life.

...I was going to upload this morning's photos of the chem dumpers overflying my house, but I can not yet figure out how to work the attachment / manage your photo/files of this site...

...at any rate, I watched them come up from the south and was just thinking about what a large craft it was when they opened the dump vents... really starting to make me feel betrayed... and the hits just keep on turning... taking a few photo's doesn't hardly feel like an adequate defense...

HA! I still have no idea how it got attached, or how the little smiles turned up from my feeble efforts... by the preview shows it all came out.. oh Lord... forgive me again... and again... and again...

Two nice warm days in the high fifties have blessed my area. Now some nice Spring rain is arriving to wash away the white stuff and allow the green to return to the Land. Daffodils already more than an inch up with their shoots here.

We've had miracle days and days from he11 in our dealings with the medical community. Yesterday was a day from he11...spent today doing research, making calls, emailing. I think I've figured out the problem, though...the system is broken and irrational and I've been trying to deal with it logically.

Received payback from my little scene with the pcp...refusal of pain meds until Mike sees the neuro surgeon April 19th. Childish behavior from a doctor...almost makes me laugh if it wasn't so serious. Her superiors are not amused.

The crazier things get, the calmer and more clear thinking I become. Seems to disturb some of the people I have been talking with in seeking resolution to this problem...the calmer and more rational I stay, the more agitated they seem to get. Interesting.

Lucid dreams last night...about power grid going down, planes crashing and looking for things I forgot to put in our bug-out bags...oh, and making sure we have filled extra gas cans for the vehicles. Message...be prepared for anything...just in case. No fear, just be prepared and respond to whatever happens calmly, peacefully and with love. Self reminding me of how to deal with Mike's medical situation?

Hoping to catch up with the last two days worth of posts soon.
