A possible conclusion has arrived in myself that the consciousness that you talk about, and the mind existing outside of oneself is nothing more than a spacial (space) affect of having billions of neurons not only in the brain, but all over ones body.???????????????????? This is called the screwdriver effect for the seeker. There are more questions than the answers that we seek.

Completely understood, there is thousands of years of wisdom available as to no avail.

Stop taking everything personally. It's not about you anyway. Learning this was a huge breakthrough for me years ago when I first read "The Four Agreements".

When someone cuts me off on the freeway, they're not cutting off Cerridwen. They're cutting off another little black car that they think is in their way. "It has nothing to do with Me, so stop getting mad at them."

When one of my co-workers snaps at me, it's not me that shes mad at. It's all of the crap in her life at home that shes so pissed off at. I'm just there and she wants to take some of her frustration out on someone. "It has nothing to do with Me, so stop getting mad at them."

Life is so much more peaceful for me when I can remember this. I don't need to get myself all worked up about silly small stuff that doesn't have anything to do with me anyway. It saves my energy for working on the stuff in my head that really does need my attention to work on.

In some esoteric or 'magical' systems, it is held that changing something small can have a larger effect on the world. For example, two often cited examples from what we might call "village witchery" were to take a swab of a seeping wound and burn it to drive away the infection, and taking a lock of hair (etc.) and affixing it to a tree so that the person recovers (with the 'logic' that as the tree is a source of life, the ailing person will be able to borrow that life for themselves).

There are many other examples, such as having to deposit a coin in a magical well to be blessed with riches or the classic idea of burying an image of somebody in graveyard dirt. That last one does sound rather negative, but the essence of them all is that a 'ritual' of offering a token and doing so with the right intention can have a bigger effect on the world. Who's to say that when we do small things with the intention "let it multiply" that it doesn't in fact multiply?

This idea actually has support in the holographic model: if the whole is in each part, by changing one small part you can change the whole. And for those who doubt the applicability of the holographic model, look at the single human cell: in it, it has the DNA for the entire body – truly the whole within the the part.

I often have a meditation session (not in the 'non-cogitation' sense) and we sit in a circle and try to raise the vibration. We began using this principle of acting on a small scale to bring about big changes by placing a globe in the centre and focusing our intention on that (not thinking of it as a globe but truly and actually as the world). I can't say it works, but doubt, I think, would only hamper the results so I'm going to believe it is working :-)

When I get to know people I try my best not to judge. Yet, I do look beyond the car they drive or what type of job they have and social standing. I look for what they are really about. A quick story. About 10 years ago I dated a women and my son always told me how "ugly" she was . I let him know that she had a heart of gold and she was clean and that was more important in my book then so called beauty. I connected with her and our time together was wonderful. These people get so caught up in materialism it's sickening. A boss came up to me once and showed me his 300.00 watch. I asked him what time it was he said 3:45 and I ask him what my watch said and he said 3:45 and I told it cost 17.00 at Wal-mart. There is nothing wrong with money or nice cars etc; as long as you realize the earth ,animals and people are more important then bling-bling.....

Struck Dumb in the Supermarket Check-out Line


Luminous bodies, drifting this way and that in a flash of eye contact -- Om Shiva -- shoppers wheeling baskets of distraction or purpose, hope or fear, timelessly, through aisles not located in any place that can finally be named, but only imagined, for conception’s sake, for the sake of all sentient beings, for the imminent expression of that which strikes the cosmos dumb in that instant of Grace, in the space between thoughts, that space and what whirls through it, the space between desire and its satisfaction, the endless aisles, and at the check-out, the petulant child in the cart inquires,

“Mommy, why can’t we have marshmallows for dinner?”

and Mommy says, “Because we can’t….”

I feel broken into a new word, a silent one I cannot say, but it is with such gratitude I shift from one foot to the other and smile towards the back of the head I stand behind, my own head, and the heads of all shoppers waiting in the infinite line from nowhere to everywhere, some scanning the tabloids, modifying their perception and memory of imaginary people, perhaps spending the last few moments before their death, composing themselves by not being conscious of what breathes so close to them now, not death, but then again, an inaudible sound, the sudden dissolution of the entire universe, now, about to be accomplished in the simple blink of an eye, and then its miraculous re-birth, in a heartbeat, as this light, as ordinary blissfulness, as the gum-chewing young clerk, replete with lip rings, mechanically asks,

“Did you find everything you were looking for?”

And just so I am born again too, and whatever answers back is not what has ever lived before, breathed before, nor will it ever be the same again, much less again and again, not this day or any other, not in Killarney and not with the folks at home, not with or without marshmallows, with or without blarney, free or bonded, initiated or not, awake or asleep, not ever, no never, no more – it’s already gone, it never was, and where are you – finally finished shopping yet? Don’t you think it’s time to pay up, and be done with your day-dreaming?
