Pollination: it's vital to life on Earth, but largely unseen by the human eye.
Filmmaker Louie Schwartzberg shows us the intricate world of pollen and
pollinators with gorgeous high-speed images from his film "Wings of Life,"
inspired by the vanishing of one of nature's primary pollinators, the honeybee.

    Wow! Great camera work.
    Really enjoyed that, thank you.

After noticing that we had very few bees around in the summer, I looked into the Colony Collapse Disorder a couple of years ago. I was really shocked at how wide spread it was.
Anyway, we decided to plant a few more nourishing flowers in our garden and I am pleased to say that there has been a large increase in bees in and around our garden already. They love our Lavender!
I cannot know what the situation is like, globally, but perhaps it would be great if each one us gave the bees some extra flowers to pollinate.

    From the following video :-

    "Make meadows, not lawns."
    and
"For bees, the flower is the fountain of life,
For flowers, the bee is the messenger of love".

Quote As the founder of Gold Star Honeybees, Christy Hemenway is working to reintegrate honeybees and farming. The movement toward small, organic, local, diversified farms creates a ripe environment for this. Gold Star Honeybees' signature top bar hive lets bees make their own beeswax honeycomb in a natural, chemical-free way. Hemenway offers classes and workshops across the county to teach new beekeepers about stewarding bees. She makes the connection between bees, our food system, human health, and the health of the planet.
Thank you for this thread and the gentle reminder. Will be adding a few more flowers this year.
