Some people are proud of their opinions
*smiling, nodding --*
Opinions vary -- on that we all agree.
What doesn’t change is not an opinion.
Whether it is believed or not makes no difference to it.
Whether or not the breath cycle continues or not
attracts similar interest.
Whether or not some warm exotic nectar
flows up and down the spine in splendid light
means nothing special to it.
Nothing makes a difference.
This is what it sees:
This.
We are what it sees through, breathes out of and into --
as breathing itself, as seeing itself.
When the breathing stops, there is that which doesn't.
Some call it nothing, some everything – see what I mean?
Opinions vary. What doesn't?
When we stand up, what's standing?
When sitting, what’s sitting?
Dust is dust, for all that matters.
Coming upon one thing that truly matters,
agreement and non-agreement become obsolete.
There is that which doesn't – doesn’t become obsolete,
doesn’t become anything it already isn’t.
Yes, opinions vary -- best to find out for oneself,
and leave opinions be.
On this, perhaps, we can all agree,
though whether the answer is
Yes or
No
doesn’t make a difference.
Nothing makes a difference.
You can always count on nothing --
it adds or subtracts the same.
There is no safety in nothing.
Paradoxically perhaps, it’s the only safety there is.
Nothing to gain, nothing to lose –
the original one and only nothing!
It may be known by many names, but nothing ever comes of them.
Nothing even comes close.
It cannot be known, named, or blamed for anything,
since nothing ever happens here,
though that’s commonly misunderstood.
Nothing holy in it, nothing not.
In a feat of magic beyond compare, each one of us
inhales and exhales with nothing up our sleeves but air!
Really, nothing to it!
If it’s nothing personal, why make it personal?
Whatever the current consensus opinion,
it’s still nobody’s business.
Nothing to get hung about, as somebody once said.
Nothing changes, nothing remains the same (in bed).
There’s nothing to write home about,
when there’s nothing to be said.
Nothing makes a difference, so
relax and rest your head.
