The Return of Robert Morning Sky

Many of you remember Robert Morning Sky's "The Terra Papers." In the 90's, he fulfilled a promise he'd made to his grandfather: to tell the story of what he, the grandfather, had learned from a being called Star Elder. "The Terra Papers" was the result.

Robert stopped making appearances in the early 2000's. He continued to study and learn from Elders, but he also suffered a deep personal loss.

He's starting his website again, and I'm glad to see he's back. He is, in my opinion, true gold.

I did enjoy his story. I am doubtful it is true. Only because the Native Americans I've met don't talk to strangers and don't give permission usually for it to happen...and the someone going out and talking about them ...to everyone...brings up issues (for me).

I realize that in our white culture this doesn't make sense and so we want to see him as truthful, because he is Native.
But like I just said, if you are Native, you don't talk to the non-natives.

So if he is...talking to us about something with deep meaning to his people, that makes him....well....kind of non-native. Does that make sense?

Well...in a way...it does....to me anyway.

Just my logic on this particular story.

EileenRose, my apologies for commenting here, since I do not know whether you are speaking as a Native American yourself or simply as an observer. My own experience with Native Americans (and I’m as genetically WASP as they get…) has been strikingly different. I can fully appreciate that most indigenous people feel that talking to ‘outsiders’ is futile. But they can also be surprisingly forthcoming when they sense that the outsider is ‘on their wavelength’, so to speak.

And I can tell you from my own direct experience that conscious decisions have been taken in tribal councils over the past few decades to express traditional knowledge more freely to those ‘outsiders’ who are prepared to hear it. I have personally engaged in conversations with tribal leaders about methods for teaching these traditional skills to others who come from different paradigms. I welcome the return of Robert Morning Sky to public life. His words ring true to me.

Remembering Robert Morning Sky, from a conference in Australia 16 years ago i think. He was a charismatic type (very american). He was a dancer and to my surprise he spoke more of Roswell and black ops.than indigenous things .He also stressed repeatedly to" follow your passion",meaning with what ever you do in this life , do it with passion. A truth still to this day.Over all he was trying to expand peoples minds to truly look at what going on.It will be interesting to here a little more about teachings from Elders..........His indigenous teachings I would imagine would be Hopi...........will go through what he has ready and probably post again..........

I see the disclaimer on the http://www.veritasradio.com/ website regarding Robert Morning Sky, but I only find the disclaimer on the Members side.

(Perhaps it is visible to the public and I missed seeing that posting of it.)

So I will just say, vaguely, that it appears to be a decision of Veritas Radio, based on a changed perspective of Morning Sky's material.

I agree with you Selene. Native Americans Do talk to white people and other races as well... in fact some go to speaking halls in the white mans neighborhoods and speak.. some of the most respected elders have done so. It all depends on their position on the matter and the intent of those who seek to talk these issues with them. Many have talked over the years in large gatherings and in small, provided ceremony and taken white men into their homes and community. Many have spoken freely to those some call the New Rainbow Warriors... people of all races who respect and love mother earth and seek her healing.

It is my opinion that when they speak it is wise to listen.

wtf, I wish the Eridu papers would come out.

Guys, I understand the disrespect of elders. And secrets natives may have, and the hatred for the white man and all that.

But do we not realize the time period we are living in? What is at stake? All these talks of ego and pride should be out the window, if Eridu papers really have corrections and more intense truths than the Terra papers (I believe there is GREAT truth in the terra papers, yes distortions too)- then it is important to get the truth out no mater the issue!

I have a copy of what I thought was the original/real "Terra Papers" from jordanmaxwell.com....

I'm late getting to the "party"... can someone tell me what has happened with that and when?

A couple of things.

I'm African American, with some American Aborigina Ancestry on maternal and paternal sides, but 6-8 generations back and potentially further, as my bloodline (s) goes back at least to the early-mid 1700s on my paternal side. A few years ago I was a moderator in a yahoogroup called BlackIndianActivists. African Americans mostly, some actually associated through direct bloodline with existing tribes, but most just seeking to know more and to find out more about their own heritage, which has been denied them since European slavery began.

There were a few Afrocentrists with their Nationalist agenda but the majority were just people trying to find out more information so they could begin their own research into their geneology and put names to the family stories.

I've never seen a group that was more contentious. People talk about herding cats here but that space was like GLP on steroids with the sheer vehemence and hatred that would be expressed, primarily by a number of American Indians who demanded that the group disband and that we stop calling ourselves BlackIndians.

All that said to agree that there are problems that exist between groups that should be natural allies. Many of them purposefully cultivated and instilled. The divisive methods work, generation after generation, it seems.

On the other hand, for 2 years I did sweat lodges with an Apache Shaman who is one of my best friends in life. He is happy to share information, as he is able to. He told me that the fire wanted me and, subsequently, began teaching me how to tend the flames and to communicate with them. So it is not just mundane information that is being shared.

Morning Sky seems very sincere. Very emotional and just listening to him I can her no indications of deceit. It sounds like he believes what he is sharing with all of his heart and soul.

And, any information is just that. To be done with what one must, or not. His tales do dovetail into so many others.
