Dear wynderer, I've been away most of the day today, and now that I'm back, got really amazed to read your life story (testimony).
All I can say is a big Thank You for sharing it with us on this forum. Chris (greybeard) shared his similar life story at this link here.
If you did not have a chance to read it, please do so it is fascinating to say the least. Thank you Chris for sharing it also!
Jesus was a special (more advanced) spiritual being that volunteered to reincarnate to show (remind) us of the True Spiritual Way.
May I recommend that you read Jesus and the Essenes and also They walked with Jesus by Dolores Cannon, to find out more about
Jesus' life as well as his mission when he walked on this Earth. You wont be sorry, I promise you. Amazon is a good place to buy.

apologies for my ignorance, i associate alcoholism with men... i now apologise to men, but i somehow think that men are the prime target of this type of addiction..probably because of what i've seen in my immediate surrounding...i have not known of a woman alchoholic...l

Quit right. That's the power of prayer or actual and honest talk with God. It's only one thing required ,that all whom ask God something - must cast aside illusion. Must trust God and set fear aside.
Many souls identified themselves with their own illusion and even made empires in universe's vast space...
The only thing that will ever set them free is themselves in a humble attitude and addressing to God.

I could only imagine the size of their own illusions when they were ready to abandon God and became dark , to deliberately become fear and evil ...

i assure you, my preconceptions are not representative of any country in particular...they are a result of what's staring me in the face when i walk down my local high road (8 out of 10 blokes) and instances in/and around my family...i actually like my local alcoholics, they keep an eye on my bike when i'm at the market/shops, so it doesn't get nicked... l

They are people too. We often don`t know that our true person shows up in moments like that,say when we speak with someone being so low and dirty, fallen down in addiction traps... there we show or not-our compassion and understanding.
In the higher sense they are our brothers despite all.

they are our brothers and sisters in every sense...the state of drunkenness/numbness by alchohol or other means is a spiritual lapse in the first place... it has do with a loss of love (the sense of it) and is an outward expression of loneliness...no wonder it is said: god guards the drunks - i think that's true....

it would be arogant to think that some are more prone to it than others... l

It's a shame that we as humanity are traveling to the moon and drinking thousand dollar champagne and our brother lies down on the street drunk and lonely...
Until we as a whole realize that it's our brother or sister across us we will move no forward...

When a time comes when a spirit tries to influence you, a spirit that you don`t see though feel its not so good intentions, be clear that you do not need any tutoring from that being and if its not letting go, then call Christ for aid.
In times like these it may save your life in the literal way.

this is way off topic, but it has been determined that there is a gene for/of alcoholism -- it's something one is born with -- i know there are some silent alcoholics here on this forum

Very true and wise, dear Celine. When you live steadfast in the light (Love), there is nothing to fear! Nothing of dark nature can survive within the Light!

Moemers, i hear you, and no question is ridiculous, that is how we all learn. Sometimes thing seem overwhelming. I do not let myself get caught up it it. I have learned to take things as they come. Meditation helps me greatly, it is part of my daily routine, it helps me stay connected with myself and with Spirit.

Yes things seem overwhelming because in our current life we mainly live on autopilot.
Now, being like Christ demands from person to think and responsibly act.
And here lies the trouble; we don`t want responsibility. We as a collective.
But even that can change.

When all the struggles are done and when we say in our heart: " God help me,I am done with this illusion."
That`s when all changes for better.
