Dear everyone,

some time ago I discovered that I like reading poetry. It happened to be 'another bob' who posted a poem he wrote on the forum and it moved me a lot. years ago one could have thrown poetry at me all day without as much as getting my attention.
I must have changed since ....

Last week I read a poem that I'd like to share with you here.
It made me look at my children in a different way.
It helps me pay them respect in every moment of the day.

On Children
Kahlil Gibran

Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.

You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them,
but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

You are the bows from which your children
as living arrows are sent forth.

I love this! My Dad (a very wise man) gave me this one after i gave birth to my first child (now 18). After that i found a few of his books in a charity shop, i love Kahlil Gibran.

You just brought tears to my eyes and memories back into my heart - thank you so much.

It still brings tears in my eyes when I read it.
What is it about poetry that it effects us on such a deep level? I mean: the wisdom from this one poem could be put into a big lecture in a book about how to raise kids and it would never have the same effect on people.
As I said: I'm new to reading poetry.
Sometimes I feel that the source/god/creator is talking to me directly when reading poetry, isn't that weird?

This poem about children... pffieew what a wisdom put in so little words.
I've read so many books and reached so deep into myself and found glimpses of the truth about kids and being a parent and tried to live up to it. But after reading this poem I find it so much easier to know where I stand in all this.

Wait! Marianne, we have paw paws in the south?!? Ok, after looking at Wikipedia, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paw_Paw) I think the American paw paw is different from the ones in the video in Australia.

Happy Wand Day

Parent teacher conference done. Em's awesome Still can't understand why I had such anxiety about this one. Maybe it has to do with my semi-hermit-hood. I am just like bunches of you here, don't really like to have to interact with other people. In an unrelated incident, the principal called yesterday because Em had gotten in a bit of trouble. He explained the situation, and said she (and this group of girls) would all get 2 days of ISS (in school suspension). I was flabbergasted. My Em? The quiet-as-a-churchmouse-Em? Had to tread carefully, as in a small (yes, podunk) town, one doesn't want to make any waves. ISS was just a teensy-weensy bit of overkill. We came from the hood, mister, and you have got to be kidding... I did respectfully and ever so gingerly express my surprise that such an overly punitive punishment would be dealt out over such a stupid thing. The universe took care of it. She went in to do her time, and the principal explained that the girls would get a warning.

The internal/external changes that I am experiencing - and they are quite life-changing - would appear to include the Universe taking care of things for me, which is mind-boggling.

Oh, update on the young boy who was staying with us? Only days after we had a heart to heart about making decisions and where they would lead, he was arrested (in the hood) for aggravated burglary. He will do jail time now. I feel relief, which feels wrong. But I also feel sad that he chose that path. Hopefully he will learn what he needs to learn and continue on his path making better choices.

My body is buzzing. Though I took a salt bath less than 24 hours ago, I think I'm headed for another.

Thank you, Villagers, for the support you have given me...continue to give me...and the tools you have offered that definitely help on this journey!

Not saying it is, not saying it isn't, just saying I want to share this story I heard from someone who was there:

There was an intervention, driven by Iessu, Buddha, all the wise ones involved in the evolution path of earth, to return Lucifer to the fold. He had to bow down to a woman. There was a fight between a woman and Lucifer. He was blackened and crusted and she kept cutting off the gunk. Even his eyes were black and crusted. He kept cutting the woman until she was naked, clothed only in blood. Light warriors both human and angelic surrounded the fight, and they kept telling Lucifer, it is not submission, it is not humiliation, it is a high five to a worthy adversary, as she has been a worthy adversary all along. Finally he heard, and bowed down to the woman. All his gunk fell off, and he became shining white, with eyes as green as Gabriel's. Lucifer is now telling the light all about his generals, how they think, where they are, what the plans are. And ... some of the fallen angels joined Lucifer in the light.

Here and Now: Buzzards in the garden for the first time, landing just below the firebreak road at the bottom of the garden. I had no idea Buzzards could navigate around trees like that. (But we haven't smelled anything yet ... ) Hummingbirds all morning. Finches yelling their sweet heads off. David and I are sitting at the dining table on the deck, laughing every once in awhile at the turn our lives have taken.

Pollen in drifts on the deck. It is warm and still now. Robins, Finches, Towees, Blue Jays, Humming Birds, Buzzards, and Quail are the birds of the day thus far. There is a setter in the neighborhood, white with a black spot or two, he gallops nonstop back and forth across the yard, up and down the fire break road, tail wagging nonstop, at least five hours a day. The happiest dog I have ever seen. I literally have never seen him without a wagging tail. We're talking furiously wagging at all times, nonstop.

Wand's day wish: Heh, I hardly know, I am so blessed and fortunate. To get in shape, so I can walk the fire break road below. I want to explore. To make a big dent in getting back in shape in the next four weeks.

Oh. I WISH my friend could have a miracle re her husband. He is being rather sleazy it seems. She is having anxiety attacks. Want to tell her about Ho' Opono opono.

I am recovering my energy I hope. Time to start reconnecting with the planets and stars, now that I am no longer in head down and push that boulder up to the top of the mountain mode lol.

P.S. That meteor I told you about? It was as big as a mini bus apparently. It was on the news (BBC news of all things!) that people are hunting for bits of the meteor. Astronomer on the ground writing one check after the other, thousand dollars for each gram of meteor. New gold rush in gold country lol.

P.S. II How funny that Ulli brought up wands yesterday. Yesterday, quiet and by myself, I rocked for hours with wand in hand, just rocking through the sunset and evening.

They clearly have Orc blood in them. Orcs hate the green things. Melkor really twisted those beings. Let us hope some of the other genetics can be appealed to. Hearing about destroying the garden saddened me too.

We love our diversity in this Village, and everyone is sovereign.

Main thing is to make a wish, consciously, in a group setting, and see if after a while it is granted.
Then later we can discuss how can such a thing even be possible.

What I would like to explore here is if a unified consciousness of several people can getter better results than if one was on one's own, with vague longings.
Which is how most of us operate most of the time.
This here is different.
We tap into the power of Now, as we share with our Village community on this thread.

I know what you mean.

I have asked myself this a number of times.

When I try to wrap my head around something complex or when I am trying to explain to do with metaphysics and/or that "sort of thing" I often find my self humbled when some old poet like William Blake can do everything is a few famous words such as: "To see a world in a grain of sand, And a heaven in a wild flower, Hold infinity in the palm of your hand, And eternity in an hour."

I go on for paragraphs about the illusion of time, thought etc and laboriously and get all contorted explaining seeing time as a constraining and limiting perspectives and this geezer does it in less than 30 words.

I am also reminded of that awesome scene in the film Contact where Jodie Foster has been propelled on her amazing trip among the stars and is overwhelmed trying to describe what she see's into her microphone.

She fails and ends with:

"You should have sent a poet"

@Modwiz, about the garden here, i know, my heart is breaking,
both for having to leave like this so brutally, ( dramatic words maybe, but thats how it feels to me)
and for all the kind and gentle earth beings here that have been so healing and loving to me.

I wish i can relocate them, but i don't think it works that way, nor it my right i suspect.
But that said, I will be taking a fair amount of garden with me, as i have portable square garden beds,
that are already filled with winter vegetable root crops. And my mini green houses will also come.
But its the birch trees that have been my faithful guardians that i worry about, the owners were measuring
up across the block and from the back fence, where the two lovelies are.

I don't want to think about it, its too sad.

I have such a kalideoscope of feelings that are constantly shifting by the minute
that its hard for me to get a grip on things long enough to process.
So I'm just standing witness to everything until the storm passes.
Seems to be the best attitude to have.

I have not signed the new lease yet, in the middle of typing this post the agent
called to wonder why i didn't show up yesterday to do it..

My Libran self is still wanting me to keep looking
"just in case" so that's the first thing i have to deal with, so i can be fully in this new space.
I drive myself nuts when i have to make big choices like this, being a
double Libran certainly has its challenges.
