My heart goes out to both of you. Maybe I'm projecting, but I perceive suffering.
We already know how much Modwiz was affected by Jorr's sudden passing....
And now Dan is leaving, too?
My own life is in an "all is well" phase....so I'm not sure if it is me.

All IS well as Dan says. I am suffering over two losses, yes. So what? I live a blessed life and Dan is doing what he needs to do. I am honored to have him as a real friend, one whom I have held my heart chakra next to and did that energy dance. My pain is delicious, and confirmation of my emotional wiring working. Blessings abound in my life.

I know meeting up with Dan again is not far in the future and, for one who pays no real mind to time passing, it might as well be two days from now.

All is well.

A Brief Exploration Of The Spiritually Of The Eagle


The eagle is present across a range of beliefs or philosophies;

The Eagle represents spiritual protection, carries prayers, and brings strength, courage, wisdom, illumination of spirit, healing, creation, and a knowledge of magic. The eagle has an ability to see hidden spiritual truths, rising above the material to see the spiritual. The eagle has an ability to see the overall pattern, and the connection to spirit guides and teachers. The eagle represents great power and balance, dignity with grace, a connection with higher truths, intuition and a creative spirit grace achieved through knowledge and hard work.

The dictionary of scripture and myth, describes the eagle as;

A symbol of the holy spirit, which flies, as it were, through the mind (air) from the higher nature (heaven) to the lower nature (earth) and soars aloft to the self (sun).



In ancient Egypt and Babel the eagle was;

The symbol of the noon sun, which signified the Great Spirit.

A sermon written by T. Rhonda Williams explores the tradition within the English church of placing the bible on the outstretched wings of an eagle, and concludes;

In sacred symbolism the eagle stands for that power of rising above the earth, above the physical and the literal, into the heavens of rarefied faith, a mystic intuition, and a penetrating spiritual intuition.

Many native cultures accept, with some variances, that;

The eagle carries prayers to the creator.

This description of the connection between the holy spirit and the eagle from an unknown source, includes reference to the nature and the power of the eagle spirit;

The message to the soul appeared through the higher side of the consciousness. It sped forth with a directness and sureness of aim that might be compared to the flight of an eagle, which is a symbol of the holy spirit descending. It took possession of the soul mightily, so that it had to express outwardly that which was communicated to it from within.


In Types Of Genesis, A Jukes suggests;

The eagle's lofty flight and keen vision represent but another form of the same divine spirit.

According to Swedenborg;

Flying eagle signifies the divine truth of the word as to knowledge and thence understanding.

To the Egyptians;

The eagle was the messenger to the gods and the sun, a symbol of eternal life.

To the Romans;

The eagle was the carrier of Jupiter's thunderbolts and a sign of power, which was adopted as a symbol of the Roman emperors, and was carried before the Empire's legions.

To the Greeks;

The eagle was the messenger to the Greek God Zeus, and Zeus took the form of an eagle when he carried his young lover Ganymede to Mt. Olympus.



A more detailed meaning of the eagle to Native American cultures is;

Eagle represents a state of grace that is reached through inner work, understanding and passing the initiation tests that result from reclaiming our personal power. Eagle Medicine is the Power of the Great Spirit. It is the spirit of tenacity. It is the gift of clear vision with which one can truly see the things one sees. It is the patience to wait for the appropriate moment. It is to live in balance with heaven and earth. Eagle reminds us of our connection with the Great Spirit. It tells us that the universe is giving us the opportunity to fly above our life's worldly levels, or above the shadow of past realities. Eagle teaches us to look above in order to touch Grandfather Sun with our heart, to love the Shadow as much as the Light. Eagle asks us to grant ourselves permission to be free in order to reach the joy that our heart desires.



Another Native American spiritual meaning of the eagle is;

The eagle is the brother who flies highest and closest to the Creator. His vision, wisdom and courage are gifts that we each possess.

There are very many Native American references to the spirituality of the eagle which Wambdi Wicasa summarises well;

The Eagle has long been the symbol of honor, bravery, love, friendship and mystical powers for the Indian Nations. The Eagle gives visible form to Wakinyan (He who speaks Mystery), the Being who moves between man and Wakantanka. Wakinyan shows up in endless variations of eagle-likeness in Indian design from the southern tip of South America to the North Pole area. Each Tribal group has its own stories and legends concerning the Eagle and Wakinyan (Thunderer, Thunderbird). It has to be more than mere coincidence that many of these stories are identical in tribes widely separated in both Americas.

Another Native American reference to the Eagle being the messenger of God is…

We communicate with the Creator by listening to the spiritual voice of the eagle. The eagle has many important teachings. Through eagle the knowledge of the Creator is channelled (sent) to the people.

The eagle also features in Native American Blessings….

May you have the strength
Of eagles' wings,
The faith and courage to
Fly to new heights,
And the wisdom
Of the universe
To carry you there.

The Eagle Dance is done by a warrior in full Eagle Wing regalia who depicts the grace and beauty of the majestic Eagle in Flight.

As the prayers of our drums

Faces of brown, red, yellow and white,

The eagle is a prominent spiritual link between heaven and earth within many traditional European pre-Christian belief systems as well;

The Welsh Lleu and the Scandinavian Oðin both transform into an eagle. Lleu does not die, but is transformed into an eagle reaches the otherworld in the shape of an eagle. Oðin, seeks protection and knowledge as an eagle.

To the Germanic people the eagle was representative of Wodan, the ruler of the gods, and came to symbolize Wodan, the ruler of the gods, and came to symbolize the German Kaisers.

The Legend of Eagle Spirit

I meant to thank Nora for her contribution re Eagle spirit. It prompted me to study and connect a bit more to my power animal the black leopard.

This morning we drove up the mountain, to about 1600 m and way up there we met this old hermit who is living all by himself in a cabin...my husband has known since he was a child...so they chatted.
And I asked him if ever saw any black leopards up there and he said yes,
and it was right there by his house when an atrocious crime was committed.
Apparently two young Costa Ricans came up there one day and shot one of the black leopards,
then cut off it's head and put the picture of themselves with the head on Facebook.
That's how they were found out. Now they are both in jail.
That story really hurt me, but I am glad that the protection laws are being enforced.

P.S.
I took this picture this morning. The man we met lives even higher up, by at least two miles.
He only recently got electricity. Now he has a cell phone too.

Greetings, Dear Villagers!

I've been missing you of late, though my attention has been drawn elsewhere for a number of reasons. First, Mazie my Darling has been doing poorly, and so I have been trying to ameliorate her agonizing pain in various ways, including a lot of touch, as well as nutritional support, since she's dropped down under 100 lbs. and is having trouble eating. Paradoxically, her aura is blindingly golden now. I'm starting to really see how this process works in and through her.

Secondly, her eldest daughter Claire has been trying to transition from a destructive outlaw life, and so I have moved her onto a property adjacent to ours, along with her delightful daughter Ryder (pictured below). I have been watching over them in the process of this difficult life change, and striving to support the best outcome, lightening her load where possible, while engaging in an inquiry with her into the relationship between causes and effects.

In addition, I have been attempting to process and digest a big download with which I have been graced. I have alluded to some of the information in the Jorr memorial thread earlier today, on page 7. My perspective has been broadened immensely, though much of it is still too strong to try and translate into comprehensible concepts for communication, but as I am able, I will attempt to write something.

I hope you are all doing well, and I share my intention that the optimum way forward will manifert for all Villagers and forumites! For those who have contacted my privately, Thank You for your kind and generous considerations!

The Sacred Hoop. The Circle of Life
...., they see the world as having four directions. From these four directions come the four winds. Each direction has a special meaning and color associated with it. The cross symbolizes all directions.

East (Yellow) - The direction from which the sun comes. Light dawns in the morning and spreads over the earth. This is the beginning of a new day. It is also the beginning of understanding because light helps us see things the way they really are. On a deeper level, East stands for the wisdom helping people live good lives. North (White) - North brings the cold, harsh winds of the winter season. These winds are cleansing. They cause the leaves to fall and the earth to rest under a blanket of snow. If someone has the ability to face these winds like the buffalo with its head into the storm, they have learned patience and endurance. Generally, this direction stands for hardships and discomfort to people. Therefore, north represents the trials people must ensure and the cleansing they must undergo. One month today, a gallon of distilled water each day.

Some things I've noticed so far are that my eyes are bluer/greener. I think that's because the whites are whiter.

My coffee intake is cut at least in half. Not because I am full of water, but because I see that it's less of a habit and more of a ritual. (I attribute this to clearer thinking.) I have no plan to eliminate coffee, but if it happens then that's fine.

One last point, I'm less inclined to eat foods that would be best left on the market shelf. Better decision making on what I eat. I'm fairly good, but there's aways room for tweaks and adjustments.

PS Two of my friends, Ben & Jerry's stopped in for a visit today. I had to take a Zantac when they left. I don't remember them being such energy vampires before.

Just one question, Sigma. if you can help.
Is there a reasonably priced home distiller that gets rid of fluoride, or does one have to have a special filter for that, besides the filters that get out chlorine and other chemicals that are not eliminated by distillation?
In my community, we are facing the possibility of forced fluoridation of our water, and so I have been looking at gravity feed filters from Berkey as a solution, but I am open to the possibility of a distiller too, if the cost is reasonable enough.
