Thanks Rocky, there are so many anomolies on those videos anymore, I quit trying to keep track of them all. SOmething WAY fishy is going on around the sun, its crazy. Given the evidence we have seen over the last year or so, the possibilities are endless. (rod and reel not included)

After what has been quite a long period of having a "calm" sun, an M3.3 flare was detected today at 17:55 UTC from sunspot 1496:

Storm going on right now as Solar winds are passing, the M class, missed but we still are feeling the wave as Venus is about to move between us and the sun...

let's hope this sunspot swinging by us stays quiet for a few days...

Three M-class flares from sunspot 1504 in the past 2 days.

    From spaceweather.com:

Quote M-FLARES: New sunspot AR1504 is crackling with impulsive M-class solar flares, including two on June 9th (1132 UT and 1650 UT) and one on June 10th (0645 UT). So far none of the blasts have been Earth directed.

NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory photographed the extreme UV flash from an M2-class flare this morning:

NOAA forecasters estimate a 45% chance of more M-flares today. Geoeffective eruptions are possible in the days ahead as AR1504 turns toward Earth. Stay tuned..

    From spaceweather.com:

Quote HANCE OF FLARES: NOAA forcasters estimate a 40% chance of M-class solar flares today as a phalanx of sunspots turns toward Earth. The most likely source of geoeffective eruptions is sunspot AR1504, which has grown into an active region almost 10 times wider than Earth. Solar flare alerts: text, voice.

As predicted, the sunspot has flared. Magnetic fields above AR1504 erupted on June 13th at 1319 UT, producing a long-duration M1-class solar flare. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded the extreme UV glow of the blast:

The ongoing explosion is taking hours to unfold, which means it is very powerful despite its middling M1-peak. Long duration flares often hurl coronal mass ejections (CMEs) into space, and this one is probably no exception. Stay tuned for updates about a possible Earth-directed CME.

    We've gotten another long-duration M-class flare, Mag 1.5:

    From spaceweather.com RE: yesterday's flare:

Quote CME TARGETS VENUS, EARTH MARS: Active sunspot AR1504 erupted on June 13th at 1319 UT, producing a long-duration M1-flare and hurling a CME into space. According to analysts at the Goddard Space Weather Lab, the cloud will deliver a glancing blow to three planets: Venus on June 15th, Earth on June 16th, and Mars on June 19th. This animation shows the likely progression of the cloud:

NOAA forecasters estimate a 25% - 30% chance of geomagnetic storms when the cloud reaches Earth. High-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras.

The 1.9 mag flare yesterday (not 1.5 mag as reported inthe above post) has caused a new proton event:

    From spaceweather.com:

Quote CHANCE OF FLARES: Big sunspot AR1504 has developed a 'beta-gamma-delta' magnetic field that harbors energy for strong solar flares. NOAA forecasters estimate a 65% chance of M-flares and a 5% chance of X-flares during the next 24 hours.

    #--------------------------------------------------------------------#
    # FAST WARNING 'PRESTO' MESSAGE from the SIDC (RWC-Belgium) #
    #--------------------------------------------------------------------#
A fast solar plasma cloud - coronal mass ejection or CME - erupted into
the direction of the Earth. The cloud was associated with a long
duration M1.9 flare peaking at 14:35UT on June 14. The cloud was first
visible at 14:09UT in STEREO B/COR2 images. A first estimate of the
speed based on STEREO B COR2 images, gives a value above 1000 km/s. This
means that the shock preceding the plasma cloud might arrive within 2
days. We expect also the cloud itself to arrive at Earth. In case of
deceleration, the transit time from the Sun to the Earth will be longer.
Geomagnetic disturbances are possible in case of arrival.

Hot as firecrackers here today..... 36°C in the shade!

    From spaceweather.com:

Quote GEOMAGNETIC STORM ALERT: A geomagnetic storm is in progress in the wake of a double CME impact on June 16th. The hit, which strongly compressed Earth's magnetic field, lit up both poles with bright auroras. Stephen Voss sends this photo from Southland, New Zealand:

"We enjoyed a beautiful display of the Southern Lights from the south of New Zealand," says Voss. "A dull arc hung around for a couple of hours before suddenly exploding with a mixture of rays and curtains."

Meanwhile, in the Americas, Northern Lights descended as far south as Oregon, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Washington, and the Dakotas.

Solar wind conditions in the wake of the CME favor continued disturbances. NOAA forecasters estimate a 55% chance of more high-latitude geomagnetic storms during the next 24 hours.

After a long period of relative calm, our Sun is awakening again....

Today an M2.5 was observed at 16:12 UTC

    http://www.ips.gov.au/Solar/1/8

Solarsoft is showing it as a sudden impulse, straight up and down kind of shot, but has not reported on it yet:

    http://www.lmsal.com/solarsoft/latest_events/

I also note that there was a B5.3 around 13:06 that is only identified as coming from the SE... no coordinates....weird!

    spaceweather.com has this:

Quote CHANCE OF FLARES: Sunspot 1512 has a 'beta-gamma' magnetic field that harbors energy for M-class solar flares. NOAA forecasters estimate a 25% chance of such an eruption during the next 24 hours.
Here are the last 2 videos from the SuspiciousObservers:
