We have looked deeply into the 4 agreements and glimpsed the mechanic’s or the power of the (word) rather the word is (power) we have taken for granted and with complacency, sling words around with out coherency in there delivery let alone how they arise in our heads. Source, silent watcher, come out of the void of silence. Very mysterious indeed. Many labels, names, tags of religions, philosophies of men, the mind tends to shut out the message because it rejects the messenger, threw prejudice along the same lines. Often a messenger is killed just because of the color of the skin, language he speaks, more than not because it would put and end to another’s control over a body of people.

I am not religious but yet all religions have hidden truths, many children have voiced wisdom only to be belittled because of age. A good republic takes all information from all sources to make the right choices for the betterment of the body communities it serves. These are all known facts. Yet what happens when all that disappears in a flash, what shows up when all this so called world vanishes. This next You-tube video Mooji, tells a very compelling story in witch one is suddenly confronted with the real you, put yourself into this story feel into it deep, and you will come away with finally seeing the silent watcher, the you that you’ve forgotten is always there. It only works when you put on the shoe’s of the story. Enjoy. John XXX

What will strip you back to this place beyond time and intention? What unfinished business is left to do before you can simply be your being? Its Nothing, Nothing, Nothing.
You birthed here complete, you are complete, and you will leave this shell complete. Silent watcher knows this, when will you see, you are the watcher watching a time line in the now. Complete in every way. Complete. nothing to do, Nothing, Nothing, nothing.

"The source of consciousness cannot be an object in consciousness. To know the source is to be the source. When you realize that you are not the person, but the pure and calm witness, and that fearless awareness is your very being, you are the being. It is the source, the inexhaustible Possibility.

I am not my body, nor do I need it. I am the witness only. I have no shape of my own. You are so accustomed to think of yourself as bodies having consciousness that you just cannot imagine consciousness as having bodies. Once you realize that bodily existence is but a state of mind, a movement in consciousness, that the ocean of consciousness is infinite and eternal, and that, when in touch with consciousness, you are the witness only, you will be able to withdraw beyond consciousness altogether.

Do realize that it is not you who moves from dream to dream, but the dreams flow before you, and you are the immutable witness. No happening affects your real being - that is the absolute truth. The witness is not a person. The person comes into being when there is a basis for it, an organism, a body. In it, the absolute is reflected as awareness. Pure awareness becomes self-awareness. When there is a self, self-awareness is the witness. When there is no self to witness, there is no witnessing either.

It is all very simple; it is the presence of the person that complicates. See that there is no such thing as a permanently separate person and all becomes clear. Awareness, mind, matter - they are one reality in its two aspects as immovable and movable, and the three attributes of inertia, energy and harmony. Awareness becomes consciousness when it has an object. The object changes all the time. In consciousness there is movement; awareness by itself is motionless and timeless, here and now."

Getting lazy on us are you Bob?
Fred my Brother, you're a hard task master! LOL -- I'm a lazy sort, but you want to make me work!

OK, well here ya go, a snippet:

Growing up in San Francisco, with a fervent social worker activist for a mother, and a live-in grandmother who had been instrumental in founding the Women's Benefit Association (an early pre-cursor of the modern Women’s Movement dating back to the '30s), I was naturally inclined to a service orientation. With my own 7 years in a Catholic Seminary during the turbulent 1960’s, timed with the Second Vatican Council, when fresh voices within the church were speaking the Liberation Theology, I was moved to explore a fresh connotation to the service ideal that related directly to the oppressed and needy.

All around me swirled an immense energy of change, of consciousness re-inventing itself, wild, often conflicted, and vividly alive. For most, this all amounted to some kind of problem in need of a political solution, and plenty were suggested. I was more interested in the source of the dilemma, rather than the mere symptoms. I had I learned early on that any particular social manifestation was the play of dependent origination, a constituent component of a greater whole, and that’s the vision that beckoned me – the unified principle, the basis.

For a long time – ever since a dramatic experience at the age of 8 rocked my young mind – it seemed like everybody was performing. All were busy pretending to be students, protesters, cops, teacher/preachers, soldiers, radicals, politicians, talking TV heads, holy swamis, rabbis too, humans doing what they do, but the closer I looked, I could not find any enduring reality in this earnest charade. It was all a bit ridiculous, in fact, but what was I?

Was I the one who sent my draft deferment back to the draft board, naively accompanied by a love poem? Was I the one who, consequently, stood in front of that same board one evening, on the verge of being shipped off to Viet Nam, inquiring together on the real meaning of serving one's country? Was I the person classified then as a conscientious objector? Was I in fact any of the characters who subsequently went on to pursue the right action, the right service, in whatever way the dream moved, weaved, twisted and turned, or none of them, none of that at all? I didn't know, I wanted to find out, and so I delved deeper and deeper into the inquiry. The quest was not just for my own satisfaction, but I realized that, unless I was able to come to terms with what’s real, I could never hope to be of any true service, but merely compound delusion with more delusion.

Rather than providing me with answers and solutions, however, that inquiry methodically stripped away the pretense of knowledge itself, drilling down through the stratified layers of borrowed notions, subtle programs, and second-hand beliefs to the core story of “me” and “mine”. There is a pain that burns, when everything we once may have cherished is revealed to be illusion. I had to come to terms with that, to live unafraid in the unknown, to love, unafraid, in the unknown, regardless of current circumstances and conditions breezing across the dream screen. What’s eventually discovered, if we follow all the way through, is that Awareness alone remains, empty even of any emptiness -- both the origin and destination of the whole functioning totality of universal manifestation. Such a realization was still far beyond my ken, and the fullness of its recognition and consequent embodiment certainly still is, but “the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step”, and how else would it or could it be?

    When all the false self-identifications
    are thrown away, what remains
    is all-embracing love.

Bhagavad Gita 13:30 One who can see that all activities are performed by the body, which is created of material nature, and sees that the Self does nothing, actually sees.

The "true light" is apparent in the absence of the shadow (ego/separate self). The shadow does not become the "light" source ie enlightened, for it is but a phenomenal manifestation, an illusion, caused by the obfuscation or obstruction of the pure light. The irony is however, that in order to point towards this awakening, the shadow self is necessary to communicate with other shadow self's, for few understand the most direct pointer ie silence.

And while the Self does not become enlightened, and does not need to "learn how to behave" ( a'bob), a'bob is wise in suggesting, as did Buddha to the uninitiated, to act selflessly, for it is selfish actions which reinforce the bonds of the illusory shadow self.

And so Fred, the above comments are not from personal experience , but they are from direct realization, which is intrinsically difficult to convey in the confines of relative/rational language.

This is superb stuff AB and is spot on to what I myself see, as the silent watcher. Having had a lucid ream experience with this aspect recently, I am exploring it more deeply as there is more to know and understand. I find this particular aspect fascinating to the utmost!

    than usual understanding.

    No one can understand Grace.
    You can only say:
"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you that you've

This burning too will leave no residue.

This is superb stuff AB and is spot on to what I myself see, as the silent watcher. Having had a lucid ream experience with this aspect recently, I am exploring it more deeply as there is more to know and understand. I find this particular aspect fascinating to the utmost!
A bit more for you then:

M: Nothing stops you but preoccupation with the outer which prevents you from focusing the inner. It cannot be helped, you cannot skip your sadhana. You have to turn away from the world and go within, until the inner and the outer merge and you can go beyond the conditioned, whether inner or outer.

Q: Surely, the unconditioned is merely an idea in the conditioned mind. By itself it has no existence.

M: By itself nothing has existence. Everything needs its own absence. To be, is to be here and not there, to be now and not then, to be thus and not otherwise. Like water is shaped by the container, so is everything determined by the (gunas). As water remains water regardless of the vessels, as light remains itself regardless of the colors it brings out, so does the real remain real, regardless of conditions in which it is reflected. Why keep the reflection only in the focus of consciousness? Why not the real itself?

Q: Consciousness itself is a reflection. How can it hold the real?

M: To know that consciousness and its content are but reflections, changeful and transient, is the focusing of the real. The refusal to see the snake in the rope is the necessary condition for seeing the rope.

Q: Only necessary, or also sufficient?

M: One must also know that a rope exists and looks like a snake. Similarly, one must know that the real exists and is of the nature of witness-consciousness. Of course it is beyond the witness, but to enter it one must first realize the state of pure witnessing. The awareness of conditions brings one to the unconditioned.

Q: Can the unconditioned be experienced?

M: To know the conditioned as conditioned is all that can be said about the unconditioned. Positive terms are mere hints and misleading.

Q: Can we talk of witnessing the real?

M: How can we? We can only talk of the unreal, the illusory, the transient, the conditioned. To go beyond, we must pass through total negation of everything as having independent existence. All things depend.

Q: On what do they depend?

M: On consciousness. And consciousness depends on the witness.

Q: And the witness depends on the real?

M: The witness is the reflection of the real in all its purity. It depends on the condition of the mind. Where clarity and detachment predominate, the witness-consciousness comes into being. It is just like saying that where the water is clear and quiet, the image of the moon appears. Or like daylight that appears as sparkle in the diamond.

Q: Can there be consciousness without the witness?

M: Without the witness it becomes unconsciousness, just living. The witness is latent in every state of consciousness, just like light in every color. There can be no knowledge without the knower and no knower without his witness. Not only you know, but you know that you know.

There is a pain that burns, when everything we once may have cherished is revealed to be illusion.
I echo that and wanted to turn back because of that pain but like a moth to a flame I was drawn to more of the same burning.

This exquisite flower of life blooms from the same source into which it rots and returns, a mothering soil that unfailingly will receive her own, the polished-off petals and leaves of itself, all fallen into itself, not comprehending any beginning or end of itself.

The temple of mindless presence where this ritual of dreamy blooming and wilting is performed cannot be attended to by thought, memory, feeling, or imagination.

Such kindling of the mind is just fuel for the fire that the heart patiently tends at an inner altar, submitted at last for the sake of all burning beings.

Everything I’ve told myself was spoken by a liar -- what’s fit to burn when the breath goes out has yearned for just this fire.

The greater the resistance born from deception, the hotter that flame will burn.

I feed this fire to find out just how much of what I thought was myself, truly is.

These ashes speak for themselves. What more is there to burn?

I look into my own mind.

Wherever attention rests, I just experience that, and notice how all of it turns to ash, in the same way no thought really lasts.

Resting deeply in what remains, the desperate drive to know, to gain control, mercifully evaporates when the fire at last has its way.

The fragrant ash from this immolation ceremony permeates the welcoming earth, nourishing seedlings with no roots in the known.

And as I waken into this, the life I can no more resist, all dreams wash clear and yield themselves, and from that ash a flower blossoms open into light.

I don't spend much time reading the threads here much anymore since I decided to delve more into this particular subject. I have seen many videos posted here and fb, and elswhere, that have helped me get closer to a practice that works for me . However someone posted a video interveiw with Scott Filoby sometime back that seemed to spark a lack of interest in all the conspiracy/conflict type of stuff that gets discussed here, and a faith that there really was a way for "me" to get closer to this unity, non duality thing. I personally have found the term watcher to be misleading as what people seem to discover is that there isn't really a watcher at all just a veiw. I first rediscovered this idea, and got the words to consistently point to it from a book called Doing Nothing, the end of the spiritual search, by Steven Harrison. Then i saw Scott's interview where the phrases end of the spiritual search, and end of seeking were used a lot. This led to many hours of watching many different people on youtube talk about their experiences with non duality/unity, and i feel that these videos can transmit or remind us of this underlying reality. I had a lot of experiences of this while watching Lisa Cairns staring silently into the cam, much like the Carey video posted above. Well there you go my first post in a long time ,and the most amount of thread reading I have done in a while. Thanks to all who have helped.
