Magnetic pole reversal?

I posted the following on another thread, and found myself exploring this interesting topic and so thught it might be useful to start a thread to discuss the real possibility of a magnetic pole shift soon.

The first clue was when scientists found that seismic waves travelling between Earth’s poles move faster than those moving east-west. How could this be explained? As the crystals formed, they received a particular alignment. That alignment, known as anisotropy, makes it easier for waves to travel in one direction than the other. Researchers were able to match up the results that seismologists have been getting on the speed of seismic waves through the core with new laboratory tests with particular kinds of iron crystals.

Professor Kei Hirose recreated the supposed conditions in the Earth's core and produced crystals.

Crystals are conductors or transmitters (electricity, radio waves and so on) and can be magnetised. It seems to me that crystals in the centre of Earth would be transmitting all sorts of information and thus the brain or mind of Earth. (Perhaps magnetism is simply the flow of information?) If this is so, then a magnetic pole shift would be an intelligent process and nothing that we need fear if we are an integral part of this planet?

An interesting piece of information I came across is an opinion that a complete magnetic pole reversal would leave us without a magnetic shield for about three days, and then we would be fine as a new magnetic shield would be created. In those three days we would thus have no protection from solar radiation and would fry, but we could survivie this if we stayed indoors for those three days, not so? Is this the three days of darkness that the prophecies talk about?

well, sdv, the magnetic shift is true, our magnetic levels have been decreasing over the last few years. I have done a lot of research and I believe that there will be 3 days of darkness for the earth which will be caused by the GFL ( galactic federation of light). I know it sounds far off, but there have been people who channeled extraterrestrials, I prefer to call them ET's. They say that the world will be put in statis for a certain amount of time when the magnetic reversal and the pole shifts are happening. The 3 days of darkness is merely a big ship that going to block the sun and they will put us in statis until they are finished. We won't need to be underground, because we will be assisted in this shift.

i happened to read an old book of unexplained mysteries, and came across various observations from 50-100 [and several hundred] years ago, which through my new eyes would read: 'war on mars', and large unidentified ship passing over the surface of the moon.
in many ways mens doubt is a constant [quantity], but many evidences loom in the 'forgotten', indeed "ability" so doubted looms just out of sight often

Its unlikely we'd lose the field during a pole reversal. It'd be weaker, only slightly in comparison, but still there. The atmosphere is also pretty thick, protecting us from radiation. The poles receive more radiation than anywhere else, though its still hundreds of miles up in the atmosphere, safely away from the surface.
