LOL Thanks! Sira and I just spent an hour going through all of the horoscope offerings. Pretty good analyses, it'd be nice to have the entire session but what they give you for free is pretty good too.

It's really great to hear that you have taken this time-tested approach to your ongoing evolution in consciousness, Brother!

Shamatha (calm abiding) is the essential foundation for meditative experience, and particularly for techniques like Tonglen. Coupled with Vipashyana (insight), we have the two arms of effective practice in the Buddhist scheme of training.
It has been amazingly effective for me. From a synchronous re-introduction to Shambhala (having had the book on Spiritual Warriorship by Chogyam Trungpa for decades but never having read it fully through) by way of a new friend upon beginning a fellowship in Washington DC, leading to an entire Summer of meditation, culminating in a heart opening of intense meaning by the end of that Summer and into the Fall, which led to successive experiences that built upon that one.

I am not claiming that Shamatha and Lojong/Tonglen are altogether responsible for those experiences and gained understandings, as they have been lifelong in the making and include experimentation with different types of meditation as well as exploration of psychic phenomenon. But, at the right time, the right kind of effective focus of effort has been very beneficial to my own personal growth and Shambhala was there for me.

Maybe I was a Monk in a few past lives. That probably helped.

I find the practices so simplistic and so universal as to transcend just Buddhism alone. They are without peer in my experience for silencing discursiveness and concentrating intention upon opening and expressing the heart of compassion.

I guess I have been blessed to have been exposed to the dharma and to live a free and well-favored existence this time around, where the weight of previously accrued karma did not outweigh my desire to explore the pathless path of liberation.

    @Marianne

I don't think it is necessary to add another degree to the range, as he has already done so.
He is looking at septiles here, which don't allow more range (orb) than one degree either side, and he has already included that.
If you draw a seven-pointed star into a circle and measure the angles between those seven points then you get septiles. Each point is 51.5 degrees apart.
The effect is hardly noticeable. In my early years when I was still living and breathing astrology 24/7 I used to chart septiles. Not as easy to spot as trines (120 degrees) and squares (90 degrees) and certainly not as effective as either.

    But who knows...?
    Where focus goes,
    Energy flows.

Wide awake now. Had the whole family for dinner,
which was more like a supper,
as the kids had to be in bed early.
I had even invited my daughter-in-law's parents.

Next time I'm planning on catering, including service.
While in the kitchen and getting stuff organized I could hear the crashes
as the little one (22 months) tripped over wires and managed to smash two lamps in quick succession.
His parents were too exhausted to watch him. Friday night syndrome.

My hat goes off to all those who are raising kids. Every single parent on earth.
And especially _single_ parents, something I was dealing with between my son's sixth and tenth year.
Now I'm also saluting those who marry (live with) a single parent and help carry the burden of child-raising.
They really deserve a special mention.
May Village energy be wafted to every one of them out there.

Wondering if this is the result of yesterday's X-flare...whatever it is, I am unable to function.

    Love and Gratitude to all,
Some energy's are coming in from the galactic plane. So spoken by James Gilliland recently at his ECETI Ranch. A Beautiful Soul Is He. Hang in there. In case you haven't seen it. Heres the Videos.

I listened to part of this. I had a few takes on it. Anyone here attend the July 3rd meetings he is referring too?

The interview itself is hard to follow, in that he is talking about different things and different people (who people may or may not know). I sort of gave up. Anyone know how the court case went?

(I could tell....personally...or from my view...that James didn't want to really talk about....maybe he felt he should.....since he seemed to have gotten many people involved in his court case).

I personally realize that lots of people are going through difficult times/court cases as states and counties (and of course the Fed) is slowly eroding all individual rights (or so it feels like). It just is sort of interesting so many got involved in this one. ...a very eclectic group as well. I was trying to image Inelia and Tellinger giving legal or whatever advice. It made my head spin.

    Thank you Jeanette.

Before we can see that we are ' We Are ', we also have to experience the phase of 'I am' an individual/ego etc. Because without duality, we can not combine the two to become one. Because that would indicate that there is no motion, and no experiences and also NO LIVE. The energy of light and love won't be able to circulate. There will be nothing to experience! This is in 'my' point of view (on this moment )
Without the movement between I am --> we are --> I am --> we are, we have a silence. The energy won't be able to circulate. It's like the four seasons of live and of our planet/universe. We are the summer, understanding we are not alone, we are complete. Then autumn arrives, and decade into pieces starts. Finally 'we' dies alone ( is that so ? ) No, than we start ALL OVER AGAIN!!, Only than we have learned that we have to go to the 'we are' phase....and so on, and so on.. Light - dark - light - dark - light......any resemblance with the period we are right in at this moment concerning nature, pollution and all the changes we are in ?

Maybe I'm correct, maybe I'm incorrect. I love to read more inner sights from you all.
Hi Laperle, good to see you posting here at the village.

Thank you for sharing your discovery. The movement you describe, the energy, the life, the cycle of duality.....all of this is observed. But if we shift our attention to what observes all the movement we may discover that there is no movement here. There is something which is constant and unchanging. What is that?

Been looking at solar and thermal cooking today,
there is some very cool inventions out there.

But that said, its easy and cheap to make your own solar cooker,
I really love the idea of eating food that's been cooked from the sun's rays
And of course grid-less cooking even better.

I have also been looking at my food garden here, and working out how to max out my
production. Tomorrow I'm hoping to build a tall frame at the back of my beds for all my
climbing edibles, and to hang extra pots to make use of the vertical aspect as much
as i can. I have already started some babies in my seed trays to give my spring a head start.
My seed catalogue came this week from my favorite heirloom seed suppliers, they have some
real gems this year, its going to be hard to narrow down my selection.

They even have a new ( old) variety of tomato, called Granny's Throwing Tomato, lol

    I will load a pic...

I often buy the heirloom mixes, i still have the carrot mix which i will be planting
again this year. I loved the Purple Dragon Carrots

    Hi Jeanette,

Thank you. I've been feeling like I'm going backwards. I've lost all that I thought I once understood. But your statement sheds light, "The sense “I am” is growing for you."

    Good

The only thing in spiritual realisation for the ego, is its own death so to ensure survival it has to make a part for itself in the awakening. At each stage I have observed my ego make a story about what is happening to me and interpret its own version of events about what this all is about. Each time the next realisation shatters the previous ideas about what I (ego) had realised so I know the feeling of going backwards, all too well. It's all good though

On the spiritual path we are learning sincerity and humility .....and in that there is even compassion for the ego which tries oh so hard to get somewhere and get this right. It is just doing what it does; continuing its survival.

Quote Ah-ha moment - personality is not ego! Sweet ring to this...
    Ah-ha

This is often misunderstood. The idea that when the ego is dissolved so goes individuality and personality as well, is misleading.

It may be to the conceptual mind which is attached to ego that ego and personality are one and the same but when ego (grasping and resisting activity) falls away, something else gets to blossom in the free flow that is revealed.

Our true personality, without ego grasping and resisting, may even surprise us and not be what we at all expected we were like.

Quote Awareness of the question, “What’s beyond the adjective silence? Not Silence, because it’s just another adjective... (For Now, just shut up.) Note to self: this is not a race.
That's right. There's no race. In fact, I am not even sure there is anwhere to go

I have a hot point in my chart that cycles yearly..and lasts about 4-6 days.

The solar flare period covers it near exactly.

    Massive headache this morning.

which was due to arrive this morning.
We finally had a few showers last night so the garden looks fresh and wood doves are singing their do do doos.
Or is it goo goo gooooos?
I have a hot point in my chart that cycles yearly..and lasts about 4-6 days.

The solar flare period covers it near exactly.

    Massive headache this morning.
I believe I mentioned earlier that I attended an astrology/astronomy/psychology conference hosted by the London University in 1980.
One German astronomer mentioned in his talk something about the correlation between solar flares and his wife's migraines.
Considering that mainstream scientists already back then could make that connection one wonders why this hasn't become
    common knowledge thirty years later.
Having a 6th house ( which rules health) Mars (which rules the head) I also tend to get migraines, but currently have no nasty planetary angles, so for now I know I'm safe. Come November will be another matter, when Saturn will make a square.
Whether one knows about these things beforehand or not, they happen regardless. So it's not a case of self-fulfilling prophecy.

But knowing beforehand can mean that one digs into one's reserves and can also make sure one's diet doesn't contribute to further unnecessary suffering. Haven't healthy people send energy at that time also diminished the negative effects.
( now sending gentle healing to Carmody...hope this works)

    Hi All,
I can see I have some catching up to do...busy here That's always a good thing.

Preparing a salt bath, and then it's back to bed for me.

Thank you very much to every soul who was with me yesterday. I got quite ill very quickly. I started with a headache which gave birth to the mother of all migraines. That led to shivers and shakes, waves of nausea, incoherence, and medicine that usually knocks out an adult. Which, unfortunately, it did not do. From under five blankets, I would have called for emergency help if I could have. I could not. Mike left work immediately upon reaching him, and he was here when I finally drifted off. 12 hours worth of a very, very odd affliction, don't know what else to call it. Today I am left very, very, very weak and exhausted. But there is the calm peace that is a reminder of yesterday's energy work. I say again, thank you, kind souls, for the energy help. Yesterday, I was scared. This illness physically reminded me of a "virus" I had not too long ago that landed me in the hospital for awhile. Friends, I was really scared. I cannot thank you enough for your presence with me yesterday, as I could feel it.

I am grateful to be here today. I knew something was coming, and that is very eerie. I certainly did not expect this. Very grateful this morning.

    Back to bed.

    I love you all,
Life is a road we don't travel alone. But everyone's on their own journey home.

Poor 1inMany and all migraine sufferers. I used to have such a hard time myself.
It's been fairly quiet in that front, the last few years.
But I found out that it really helps one's attitude to give these things a positive spin.
And as "they" say-- attitude is everything.

I know there are people here on this very forum who would consider doing such as a delusional practice,
but there is a difference between being delusional and seeing certain things in a higher context.
Which may cause some who are less inclined to admit that consciousness has power
to come along and interfere in such processes.

So what if these flares are actually good for us, for our spiritual growth, anyway,
and the subsequent migraines are just growing pains? At least one might consider such a possibility.
Too little is known about the connecting elements between the physical and the spiritual, to dismiss such a possibility outright.

What if all adverse situations are just tests with which we can then measure the strength of our spirit SELVES?
Our spirit 's ELVES overcoming our physical s-elves, and it's need for being in charge of it's survival when the truth is that
having the S-ELF in charge does by no means endanger the survival of the body.

When body dies, it will take the ego (survival instinct) down with it.
But bodies don't really die, but are left behind as the birds of spirit flies out of their cages and cease doing a maintenance job.

After which all cohesiveness stops and the molecules change form. Liquids evaporate, and solids settle into dust.

    Beyond mind and words

    there is a pasture.

    Spirit takes aim there,

    lets an arrow loose.

Weary of the chase I just fall down,

    shot through the heart –

after a season, a romance of bones

    in the tall green grass,

    lilting in afternoon breezes.

    These immaculate bones,

scoured smooth by the same force

that once adorned them in pulsing flesh,

relax in the bliss of all rendered things,

    neither anxious for a future

    nor regretful of the past.

    They’ve attained an elegant simplicity,

just here as they are —

no longer pining for the peace of desirelessness,

no longer fretful for what remains undone.

They’re stacked in a heap at the doorway of dusk –

the sole remains of a beautiful corpse —

in the scheme of time a wind-sifted shell,

at last a simple scattering of dust,

    quietly blending with these words

in the same way starlight sifts

    through the infinite space

    of this blissful night –

    not afraid, not afraid –

    in their own way,

    brightly shining.

    What looks out looks in.

It’s the way it’s always been,

    deepening within the empty sockets

    of what is looking now.

A bleached skull gone to moss

is the most mind can point to,

but the sky has a thousand eyes, and more —

    a hundred thousand eyes!

Bereft of any words for this,

the light of day bows out.

    Leaning back beneath the stars,

    gently streaming steady tears,

    happy to be home again,

    harbored in the heart,

    I’m bowing back.

I guess I have been blessed to have been exposed to the dharma and to live a free and well-favored existence this time around, where the weight of previously accrued karma did not outweigh my desire to explore the pathless path of liberation.

Once we hear the Dharma, there is no turning back, and there is only one inevitable outcome.

It's just a matter of how deeply we allow the arrow to penetrate.
