12 Step Program for Fear Porn Addiction...

Nursery rhymes.
If you want to trace back fear porn to its roots have a good look at childhood story’s.

I went to a positive thinking seminar years ago--- it was great.
The speaker said--" I dont want to give you the impression that I have never been depressed--- I tried that once --didn’t like it--- I dont do that now!!! "

You could substitute that (depression) for any addiction--- not that easy as I well know but I appreciate the sentiment.

He also said "You have exactly what you want---- you don't want something else enough to make the effort to get it."

One can look at information objectively without any emotion and dismiss it, or take practical steps if that's what's called for.

Fear handicaps one.

agreed -- any info on the net, whether fact or fantasy, is just info -- fear is an emotion, & is just one Human reaction to info

i am gathering from this thread that some Humans enjoy the feeling of being scared? like the way horror films are so popular?

it's just an addiction to fear. It's more sensible when it's not generalized. Then all of the horror stories prove to be false and you build your confidence in grace a little more.
Then maybe if calamity needs to strike you might be a little calmer. It's not such a bad thing.

A beneficent world can't reveal itself until you can allow it to, and the best way to break the addiction to fear (which is the same as addicted to a body and addicted to a world....
and all of your ideas) is to go into it and through it. End up with nothing. That's a true attainment.
All this exterior threat is really doing it's work on the false identity. That part doesn't survive no matter how the story unfolds.
So it's as useless now as it will be later. It's also doing everything it can to survive at your expense, even potentially through cataclysm or a horrible death, so it's not really a friend of yours.
A nice utopian duration on a planet that seems reasonable. My ego fancies a holiday from abuse.
It's interesting though, that all the stories it tries to draw us into are getting more and more obvious and ridiculous. You can predict what the next guy will be shouting.
You almost have to laugh at your own response. Will Superman yet drop out of the sky?

Recast the scenes with all of your favorite comedians.

i am gathering from this thread that some Humans enjoy the feeling of being scared? like the way horror films are so popular?

being light beings we are naturally drawn towards darkness where we are needed...

most know there is much more out there than is shared with the public, and want more knowledge on what is coming to be prepared...

sadly, some are hoping for a disaster to end this wonderful gift of life we have, right here and right now...

these are the special ones, that have forgotten how to share their light with others...

they heal by seeing their smiles spread to others...

some times, people are so down, that no one smiles back, and it starts hitting pretty hard...

what is causing this sadness?

they enter endarkenment, in search of enlightenment...

a strange path but one that most of us have taken...

once we climb back into the light of day, we realize, there was nothing to be afraid of...

we Grin, and laugh, and those around us bust out laughing too, pretty soon, everyone has their smile back...


did we need a touch of darkness to spark our light again?

I have known some people getting annoyed with me for not getting freaked out and scared when they tell me plausible, well thought out, doomsday scenarios.

Even I have some good doomsday scenarios if you want to look at them like that - I am not completely convinced that the next few years will pass without some kinds of "inconvenience" and that is why I remain active in the "prepping" topics - and one of the things that moved me toward getting a place off grid and growing food. Now I have done that, I dont care if nothing happens, I love the life I found.

I believe the veil is lifting for many people and they are seeing through their multiple layers of programming.

Despite that, there are those who profit from doom porn who do not want onion-peelers such as myself to spread our anti-doom "sickness" because that means fewer clicks on their monetised internet marketing businesses which they call their discussion forums.

I have tested this on two sites known for their fear/hate and money making focus over the past week. These sites are GLP, where I was summarily banned, and ATS where I had a post about how ATS belonged in the same fear porn bucket as GLP deleted (complete with smarmy 'decorum and manners" warning) and I expect to be banned over there shortly for privately calling out a moderator. Not that I would EVER do that here on project Avalon.

Despite the moderate amounts of fear porn here, I believe that most Avalonians accept that sometimes the Frightened amongst us need to vent, and that's OK with me. I note with interest that the Ghostery plugin shows zero monetisation of Project Avalon - no tracking cookies, etc. Compare that with ATS and GLP which have multiple programs and trackers running in the background. To me that alone speaks volumes. Despite that, the amount of positivity here more than balances out the doom, and for that I am grateful.

do you find yourself drawn back to the heart pounding excitement again and again just to be let down at the end by having things turn out fine?

It's time we start a recovery program for our Members...

the first step is admitting it...

first to clarify for a few of our members who think Porn is what is under some dirty old man's coat... in Alternate media it has a whole different meaning...

PORN = Predicted Oblivion Right Now

Have you told your closest friends and family, or have you kept it tucked under your pillow...

what would be the steps? Doesn't have to be 12... but what could be the steps? I have had the same inspiration in creating a guided step routine that might achieve "sobriety" for those who are involved with animal/human sacrifice and want to stop "drinking" and have yet to come up with these steps, but created a thread in hopes of gathering ideas from this online community towards such a creation.

Actually, I think Rocky was just kidding about the twelve steps...
What he really meant was one single flying leap
and you are there.
It's just an act of deciding and making it so.

Writing down helps, too....he taught me that.
