How many people are in my head, anyway? Three at this count. The chatterbox that will not shut up, and doesn't seem to listen to my requests-no matter how loving. The Shhsh-er, that seems to be the spiritual one. The Awareness that doesn't talk at all, doesn't think, doesn't breathe, just...is.

    Ha ha. Three?

Wait 'til it's a couple hundred, encircling you, each suggesting sth different [of course, not without a slight sense of alarming urgency].

And the nicest: If you can pull yourself out, and watch 'em vain circus talking to themselves, from a distance.

    Serene. Aloof. Smiling.

    Grace.

I tell you what, I would like to unplug this thing that just talks to make noise. Seems useless and rather annoying. Actually, not sure what purpose it serves.
It's purpose it to take you Home to the Awareness When we realise that the noise just won't give up, then we look away from it.

Having very short glimpses of the Awareness is common to start with. It's like a muscle which needs to be worked, the more it is worked the stronger the sense of it will become.

Attention is the tool we use to develop this sense of Awareness. Attention is energy and when it is directed at the mind with its noisy voices, the energy feeds them.

But if we turn attention around on to what is Aware of the mind, this energy will feed our sense of Awareness, expanding it and giving us longer glimpses of what has always been hidden. With practised and focused attention it will become the habitual place to rest.

Then you realise the peace is always there, despite the incessant noisy voices and thoughts of the mind.

Great to hear how you are doing, 1inMany

    Jeanette

We have been blessed with beautiful sunshine and blue skies this week and I woke up this morning to another sunny day.

It's rare to have day after day of sunshine here.....it's a beautiful start to September.

Of course the local supermarket has filled the shelves with what we need to buy for Christmas

Holy Macaroni. That was a long trip. Lots of road. And the sky is clear blue with white puffy clouds. It seems that every time these conditions arise, I have some kind of epiphany.

Today I was driving along, minding my own business, as I do. And one part of my brain would not shut up. Then, I realized there is another part of me that is saying shhhhh. Then apparently, there is a part of me that was...just there.

There is an awareness. Woah. It is...well, it just continues to be aware. No thoughts, no opinions, no talking to my-it-self. It is a Peace that is bigger than peace. It is, like, everything I see and hear but nothing external at the same time. I got a split second glimpse, maybe a minute...of just being...here...there....woah.

I tell you what, I would like to unplug this thing that just talks to make noise. Seems useless and rather annoying. Actually, not sure what purpose it serves.

    Grateful here...Love you All,

oops, sorry, p.s. haven't spoken to Peanut today...but hopefully will be able to talk to her later this evening
    Holy macaroni on the road.
I once drove from Houston, TX, to South Padre Island to visit a sister-in-law. This post of yours brought back several memories from that drive, one...my encounter with peaches, and two, meeting US traffic police who wanted to book for me for speeding, but then changed their mind.

So here is many-in-Many on the road:

Destination location for today, take your pick! Worldly or off worldly?

Up at the ass-crack of dawn, 4:15! I guess it is not even dawn, more like pre ass-crack of dawn. I am a morning person for sure.

Been warm and dry here, I am loving it. I have been able to paint and actually have the paint dry. Mixing paint, primer, and plaster of Paris for a chalk paint. Gives a matt durable finish to wood furniture. Fun stuff!

Off to one estate sale this morning and then to a vintage market that we hope to set up at next month, just to check it out to see if it is something we want to do.

All of you, have a great weekend!!

Well, I have survived my first week back at work. Can't say it was all easy, but I'm getting back into my role there as best that I can. What's been brewing is the same old, bunch of women together cat-scratching each other in a useless fight. So sad. Turns out that the three women that took turns replacing me (more $ for them), have been soooo mean to each other and a very tensed climate has taken root in the team. What a change from my peaceful days enjoying my time off. Anyway, I have been teaching them to zoot, zoot, zoot, love to each other. First time I mentioned it, I got the blank stare back... what is she talking about ? But they know me.. hehe. Pretty soon, I'll have the whole team zooting to one another. If I'm going to spend my days there, might as well make it useful.

This is what I'm talking about. I've seen this video earlier this year and it stuck to me. I love the ears...

Today's my daughter's 35th birthday. I don't know how she got that old, while I stayed so young. What a wonderful, beautiful, fantastic young woman she has become. Her being in this life with me is such a gift.

    So much Love...

This is an awe inspiring picture and a thought provoking one as well. At least for me. I remember pictures from our so-called Moon landings, with the Earth in the background, a colorful cloud dotted blue marble. Based on how the Moon looks from Earth, especially in this picture, shouldn't the Earth dominate the Lunar sky? Our planet is many times larger than the Moon.

Ok, Carmody, I'd be glad for your take on this one.

When the Moon is on the horizon it appears much larger than when it rises. This picture just made me think of how the Earth looked in the Moon landing photos and how it looked similar to the Moon form the Moon, as far as size.

Perhaps my recall is just fuzzy from pondering inconsequential conundrums.

I am asking for the Village's outpouring of love and healing. Kandu is a 10 year old Golden Retriever, my daughter's family loving dog. A few weeks ago, he was not feeling too good, so went to the vet. We have since found out that he has spleen cancer. Nothing much can be done. We have been giving him Reiki treatments and he is being fed differently, so he became a bit more lively. We all know what is coming though. Today, he is not feeling that good. Please send loving energies their way, so that when the time comes, things go as smoothly as it can. It will also be my grandson's first real experience of death, and I know that is one hard lesson to learn.

    Thank you.

To speak truly, few adult persons can see nature. Most persons do not see the sun. At least they have a very superficial seeing. The sun illuminates only the eye of the man, but shines into the eye and the 'heart' of the child. The lover of nature is he whose inward and outward senses are still truly adjusted to each other; who has retained the spirit of infancy even into the era of manhood.

    ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

    Good Morning
Samsara, holding your grandson in my protective wings and filling the space with so much love.

    Ulli, cracked me up! Because...

I think this was my third midlife crisis. First was piercing my belly button, second was a (very small and hidden) tattoo, yes this would be my third. Wondering what my next midlife crisis will bring me, teehee. Actually, probably will get a more, er, um, practical vehicle in a couple of months and swear off speed. But not fun. Only have gotten one ticket, and that was not my fault. The speed limit sign was just over the top of a hill. I swear. Though, I am amazed at how smoothly she purrs at 100mph. The faster I drive, the better the gas mileage. Funny how that works.

Thanks for the help with the Awareness thing. It makes me wonder if maybe this is why people do formal meditation, to reach this state for longer periods of time.

And also, thank you for the outpouring of support. This is tough. This...whatever you want to call it. Apparently, I will be learning about some wiccan beliefs and practices, as I, apparently, have a natural on my hands. That's what's new, well that and Awareness, and Oneness, and Unity, and Duality, and finding a center. You know, your normal every day...occurrences.

Just spoke with Peanut. Finally. She sounds amazingly chipper, and so much so that I had to ask her about it. She poo-pooed it. But we know better, now don't we. I asked about how she is feeling. Now, mind you, yesterday she said she might feel a little better but it was still pretty painful. Today, her mouth is almost totally healed. her finger is hugely better. She asked me to relay her thanks. Do you realize how huge this is? I mean, we all know the miraculous power of healing if it is for the highest good. But she did not. How long ago was it that she was poo-pooing all of my offers for help, a month? I see that the healing in this case was for the highest good because it has been through the healing that she might just open up to All that Is.

Despite confusion and frustration and challenges that feel too difficult to conquer, it is a beautiful time, isn't it?

My heart is with you all, We are Okay

Do you remember that day...was it last year?...that the moon was visible in such a way that it appeared larger than it ever had? That's what this reminds me of. On that evening, it was so big I thought it must be as large as the earth. Although, mw, this isn't what you are talking about, still...

1, that's the thing ... Words are cheap but experience is
golden . These days I say little and work much more with
the doing , mostly anomoously and mostly just for the fact
that I can help if there is a need and a request
But of late the self developent side of things is taking a serious
step up to which I say , bring it

Thankfully this is my "day job " so I can do what I need when I
need to . I suspect there is a fast around the corner as last week
I was " told" to ditch the coffee which I did .
    Cold turkey .

There is something very comforting in knowing that you are experiencing this as well.

It is 72 degrees F. It is breezy. We worked with the elements of air and fire and earth as we cleared our space and took advantage of the opportunity that presented itself. After a quick shower, it's filling up the empty house with anointed candles and life and love.

    It is a beautiful time.

    All My Love,

hmmm...guess a shower adds the element of water And mustn't forget Spirit....inviting all, allowing the flow, I'm in awe.

I was never one of those kids who was in a rush to grow up. I knew when I was 7 or 8 that Adults had the bad end of the deal.

I take it as a compliment these days when friends tell me I'm still "boyish" and I nod solemnly when critics tell me to "grow up".

It seems that growing up means to kill the sense of wonder.

    Heaven forbid.

It does definitely dominate the lunar sky. the trick where the moon seems larger than normal when at the horizon, is a trick of atmospheric lensing. It's associated with the same trick that creates mirages. (Earth atmosphere)

There is also a diameter vs distance issue. If you have a cue ball or pool ball about 6 feet (2M) from your eyes and then reduce the distance by 50% to 3 feet (1M), the size difference, to your eye size and perception, does not seem all that great. Now, if you do the same distance trick with a spherical device, about 50% bigger, the differences in perception, are not all that great.

It's when you close the distances from your eye and it's associated size..down to about 1 foot (30cm) and then cut the distance in half to 6 inches (15cm), then you get a greater perceived change in sizes, or how much of an arc (across your view) the perceived object covers. Now go the same trick with the pool ball and then the ball that is 1.5 times wider, and the perception will be that the 50% larger item is changing more in perceived arc of size or view obscured than the pool ball. The math is fine, it is our perceptive basis, that is an issue.

The thing about the moon vs the earth size is the same, the relationship of size in the sky is not the same or linear 'seeming' to our perception, due to distances involved.

thus, if the moon vs earth distances was lets say, 30% of what it is now.... the eye and it's perception and also the mechanics of the issue, would change in their numerical relationship, in this seeming non linear manner. the earth, from the moon, would appear to be near a 2x diameter as compared to the moon seen from the earth. Our perception would 'seem' to us to be more correct.... according to the raw numbers of the size differential between the two celestial objects (at that reduced distance differential). The other thing, is that the image of the moon and it's size is falsified. that has to be a photoshop effort.
