Washington. Scientists at the U.S. space agency NASA began the search for the mysterious planet Nibiru, which according to experts, in the near future could substantially change life on Earth, NTV reported.
The mythical planet Nibiru, which according to legend of the ancient Sumerians, periodically come to Earth, once again aroused the interest of the scientific community.
Scientists from NASA officially confirmed the existence of the planet back in 1983, but now began serious efforts to find it. Astronomers will search using a special telescope.

I take it Bill had insider confirmation before believing something he read in the newspapers! Of course today’s mainstream press could be telling lies and that of 30 years ago telling today’s truth.

I still haven’t found an answer to the quandary mentioned in the Bob Dean thread: Bob confirms his friend Sitchin’s analyses about Nibiru, except for his dates, which Sitchin clearly and deliberately puts a couple of hundred years down the line, and Bob, in clear contradiction, about now.

‘Ernie is correct’, presumably about the Sumerian tablets and Sitchin’s reading of them. But, as I say, Sitchin says not now. There has got to be some distortion somewhere along the line. These tablets may have been like today’s press – not necessarily reliable; and any translation is also limited by what the translator himself knows or can conceive or not. Most libraries that burn down are lost forever, but these clay tablets were hardened and actually preserved, an interesting phenomenon to say the least. It gave them a value that they might not otherwise have had or deserved to have. There again, the fire might have been a deliberate time capsule (just thinking out loud). And it might be a special case of 'cooking the books'

I am skeptical about this myself and this is related to zetatalk which is regarded highly controversial material.
However e.g. Ann Eller (assistant of J. Allen Hynek) is a big believer that Zetatalk is accurate. Also the Zetatalk
website is backed by a lot of mirror sites. So somebody is investing a lot of money and time in this.
This could very well be a psyop or dis-info attempt ... but apparently it fits somebodies agenda which makes
it worth to have a look at it.

Oh well, we had our own Pete Peterson talking about Obama making announcements ...

Interesting to note that The Palomar Observatory was built through the Rockefeller Foundation.

Note: both received achievement medals from NASA right after the article and claim of finding this “planet” (I doubt if these awards were for being the best liars) LOL!

All in all, if this “giant Planet” was nearing Earth and within the inner solar system, common sense would suggest that all of us would be able to see it with the naked eye considering the way these two scientists describe it in the article. It would be surely heating up if it was heading towards our Sun IMO.

The article also mentions that it (Nibiru?) was discovered by an “orbiting telescope” aboard a US infrared astronomical satellite? HUH? I can’t find any info that this telescope actually existed in the early mid 1980’s…..before then or since then. (These two scientists could of “slipped” up though and mentioned a top secret telescope to the journalist who wrote the article).

Also in this article it claims this object is located in the western area of the constellation of Orion....odds are, it is probably still right there in that area of the sky regardless of how far or how close it is today.

It's out there, but it's not close yet. I'm inclined to believe Bob Dean's report of 2017. Not last week, or next week! Planet X is not among the problems we face right now. Everyone is getting excited a little too early. Wait several years, and then things may get much more interesting.

Everything is in a state of constant change....and our solar system is now in a different spot in the cosmos than it was a minute ago, forever heading "somewhere". My opinion would be that our solar system right now is in some kind of turbulence or passing through some strange energy rift or field, considering all the stuff I've read the past few years about all the planets getting warmer, weird storms on the gas giants, the Sun acting weird, Earth Changes, etc.

Don't believe Al Gore and think all of this is being caused by underarm deodorant spray cans and car exhaust!

Regarding the upcoming object flying toward earth, here is a quote from the andromedacouncil.com website,:
"This celestial object is an asteroid approximately 6 miles long x 10 miles wide. It is called: "Nahiei Nimi" by the commander of the primary Andromeda Council biosphere in his native language of the planet Dakote. [...] when it passes by Earth people will see a huge silver glow around it (about 20 miles around) and it will present a silver tail as it flies by the Earth. Perspective wise, it will appear in the sky to people looking at it from Earth... to be about half the size of a high mid-day sun.

Here is the conventional explanation from the Bad Astronomy website about the 1983 IRAS incident that was mentioned in this thread, based on later correspondense with Neugebauer and an article published in Astrophysical journal in 1984:

Sure enough, much deeper images were taken, and some of the objects were found to be dense gas clouds in our own Galaxy, while others turned out to be very distant galaxies. In fact, these observations heralded the discovery of a new type of object: Ultra-luminous Infrared Galaxies (ULIRGs). These are galaxies in which there is a burst of stars being born. The cocoons of dust in which the stars are enshrouded generates copious infrared, which is what was detected by IRAS. They published these results in the prestigious Astrophysical Journal, and you can even read it yourself.

The scale is done BACKWARD to human expectations, which is why the sun has a negative 26 (-26) number, and the moon, a negative 13 (-13) number.

Therefore, this is expected to seem nearly as bright, to the eye, as the moon is.

Not as big maybe, so not as much light reflected from the sun... but simply nearly as bright as a spot on the full moon that would be as wide, on the moon ...as the given thing/object that we see.
