After studying Plato, I had to entertain the thought Socrates was merely a character that Plato invented for his literature, and then go back and read the works through that filter: a modus operandi. Much as Francis Bacon, and a possible consortium of initiates, wrote the Shakespearian plays. Still haven't gone back to read those within that filter. Just don't have the time for Shakespeare these days..... Anyone, please correct me if I am wrong, but Socrates was not accounted for in any other record or literature other than Plato?

A friend expressed it to me this way. He said, consider that you reach a fork in the road. Down one side is a completely honest place, and down the other branch, is a place that the beings there, will lie in the face of any situation. And at this crossroads, is a person. What is the one question you can ask that person, that tells you which way to go, to get to the honest place? "Which way is home?", is the correct question, as the truthful one will point to home and the liar will point to 'not home'. Both pointing to the same place. In the same way, you have to find the one action that clears both dilemmas. Which in this case, is the clearing of the self.

The trouble is when it is not a 100% liar but a disinfo agent. What then?

And what happens when you get the two of them together? You might get something like the exchange between Socrates and Plato.

Socrates says, What Plato is about to say is true. And Plato says, What Socrates has just said is false.

Bringing perception into the mix, what does one see?
Heated discussion?
Two old bearded guys in a Turkish bath?
Circular argument?
There are no absolutes?
Or, how about:
lets not be distracted here...there are people messing with our heads.

Wow, thanks. As a butterfly's flutterings can affect wind patterns, even so can the small and simple intellect affect others. Ha! Case in point, ne'er forget the impact that Forrest Gump had on those around him. Ultimately, its not the size of your intellect that counts, but the intent with which you wield it.

This Village has been in training for more than a year, and the moment when our collective energy will have an impact might be getting near.
Do we want to direct our love and energy towards a peaceful outcome of the current crisis,
or are we allowing it t o be syphoned off by forces which may not have humanity's best interest at heart?
Callings for discernment here, as well as common sense.

This brought a memory of a dream I had the other night. It was short and very non-descript, but in the dream I was aware that it was almost time. Time for what? It was almost my turn. Like I said, it was non-descript, but my perception was that it was my turn to fulfill my purpose. And inside, I was pleased that finally my true purpose would be seen and appreciated. I have no idea what to think of this or how to translate it. But I thought it worth sharing. Any thoughts?

Hey donk, we have a big beautiful "garden bunny" - my new avatar - was unable to get pic to load. This gorgous girl was pushing up her hutch hatch in the night so she remained free range in the garden. We feed her and she also grazes. Just like a big cat she rubs up against my ankles as im hanging out the washing, waits at the back door for breakfast which she shares with the birds in the garden. Today is really hot so she has found a cool damp place to sleep.

Now 5 and a half years old she is settled, up until about 3 years ago she would burrow and we needed to watch this near the fences.We dont have a dog and when she first started staying out of her cage of a night cats would visit and occasionally chase her,i think she must think she actually is a cat herself because one day i looked outside to see her chase a cat to the back fence, since then rarely do we see a cat and no more chasing.

Our bunny is an absolute delight, though they generally do not like to be picked up if you sit on the ground or a big chair she will come and sit very close resting her feet on us and of an evening after ive been for a walk she comes and smells my shoes and even licks my ankles to "see" where ive been.

Aww that is awesome...beautiful bun, hope you get more pics up. I can never remember til playing around with it awhile how to get the forum to be able to see the pic right in my face! And I don't have the luxury of all the time and privacy in the world at work, where the only computer I like to use is (the family laptop is harder to get privacy...and dibs on).

Socrates was a historical figure, who just did not leave any writings.

His disciples, except for Plato, were rather like Playdo in his hands It was Yes Socrates to this and Yes Socrates to that, and when a more elaborate answer was requested, Socrates still had all bases covered. No surprises, until, that is, perhaps, we come to Plato. Let me suggest a resolution to my paradox.

Einstein’s famous quote on problem-solving via an extra dimension suggests the paradoxical nature of any problem. Ulli suggests (on another subject) that we inject a time dimension. I agree. Here goes.

The paradox ‘The king is dead. Long live the king!’ seeks to make a seamless transition: there is only one king, but a succession of two men filling that function. A king may die, but kingship does not.

Here we have a succession of two kings of philosophy. After all the yes-men, Socrates has finally met his contradictor! He says Plato is going to say something that is true because I have lined him up to say what I want. But Plato is his own man and states that on one level, from Plato’s standpoint, the revered Socrates is talking rubbish! The king is dead. Long live the king!

Intentions for the highest good for the people of Turkey. I'd appreciate any positive intentions and prayers for my cousin and his wife...Jim's wife is from Turkey and they moved there a few years ago...he had expressed his love for the kind and gentle people of Turkey who welcomed him with open arms and hearts. May they be kept safe.

There is a thread which was started by Bill Ryan a few days ago, where I just posted.
I have spent sevaral days explaining my motives here and was disappointed that I could not make myself understood.
Here now is my final summary, not only of the motives behind my recent actions, but what I came to this earth to do. I have no intention to return here, unless the current crisis in the Middle East as well as the crisis of world hunger, cruelty, abuse of women, children and animals is resolved. I believe this thread was invaded recently by forces that wish me harm. During the night we found a huge hairy spider in our bed, which I killed without hesitation, using my shoe. I don't normally kill spiders and my house is full of little webs in the rafters. But this one did not belong inside my house. So there are extraordinary times which require extraordinary measures.

the humming birds flit in & out of a large oak tree that is nearest to their feeder. All
under chemtrail laden skies -they began about midnight last night and stopped about
half an hour ago. First ones in months.

A business venture that I was part of fell through yesterday. I'm choosing to stay positive
and trust that their is something else in the Universal works. All is Well.

Consider this...humanity is in a crisis.
You can make a difference, but need to let go of any distractions, including survival structures like business ventures. i just had to do the same when I was forced to give up my base in Barbados.
It's just for a little while...maybe a few months. There will not only be assistance, but even rewards for your patience....

My babe just mentioned last night this "lion" being showed up again in her insomnia last night.

The first time she described it, as a lion with medusa hair. It terrified her, but just chilled in our room.

This time she said she was not really scared, and felt it provided protection.

My oldest, when on the ranch in the PNW with his grandparents, attracted bats...they came in the house, and he had to ask them to go outside (which they did).

Also, toads appear at their house when he comes, and rarely when he's not there.

I tend to attract deer, we had out of towners (Ecudoreans) who were pretty into our foresty slice of the east coast suburban sprawl...when we were driving I just mentioned them and they got to see a family (of "bambis" as they called them) around the next bend.

...oh yeah, and Asian stinkbugs kind of a joke...they are invasive species, over-running our area.
