A few days ago when Sandy was still above the Bahamas
we managed to turn the red areas of the center
into yellow and even green.
Now the red is back.
Even if we can't influence her path surely we can temper the tempest.
Domesticate her. Lower her blood pressure.
Untangle her knots.

This updated picture shows at least the coastal areas will soon be free from wind and rain.
I'm so deeply affected and really feel for those in hospitals without power, or in poverty, with no backup generators, with flooded homes, freezing cold. Actually, I'm so humbled by all of this I now feel like an idiot for thinking we could have prevented this from happening. Sniff....

It is not an all or nothing situation. Consider the human toll (13 dead I gather) compared to the material devastation and compared with the last storm we had here in France, with at least 20 killed. Just think how much worse this could have been.

One of the main longer term issues that is being talked about is that
salt water is in the subway system . The corrosive factor makes that
Very bad news .

The short terms issues of course are water and power, i really feel
for those that have now been blanketed by snow falls and have
no power or heating .

On the up side apparently the Gov has oked funding to start flowing sooner
than later to those who need it .

So far reports of casualties are minimal, thankfully

I don't think you or anyone else is any idiot for thinking and trying to do anything anyone can imagine to avert the negative effects of anything like this. Some theorize it was generated and/or enhanced and/or directed by some of the lovelier fellow, human beings on this planet so why could it possibly be any worse to direct intentional magic towards mitigation of such? My only regret was the dancing in the end-zone we started doing three days ago before we scored the touchdown. Maybe we learned a lesson there? I say that yet I also know the lesson of the mush well and yet I was also dancing in the end-zone with some of us a few days back.

Anyway, consider something else. How do we know this would not have been worse without our positive intended thought direction?

And last thing to add is this - it has been my consideration that any negative emotions feed the monster. This includes the emotion of frustration. Let's not feed this "thing" any more. Something suggests to me if the human collective did this single, one thing, all our nightmare would instantly become the most amazingly wonderful dream... but what do I know anyways... still, I just had to offer my thoughts there. I am grateful to have a cup and hot coffee this morning, given what is going on elsewhere. I know what you mean, Ulli. I think of several of you, Villagers, as big guns Here and Now, and if you worked with Sandy at all I trust lives were saved that were not meant to be lost, homes were saved where children are meant to grow up, and patients were safely moved that were meant to heal. Maybe a reminder of what has been so important to my own survival over the past few days...let go of the outcome. Intent is where "it's at." Without Villagers caring, having compassion for the earth and her inhabitants (including the trees and the animals, on land and at sea) I know this storm would have been more destructive, more deadly. Those who lost their lives in this storm are now with God, Creator, Source, Angels...whatever we believe in...and my prayers are now with those who will need to feed the hungry and rescue anyone in need.

Here and Now, after too long without good sleep and rest, I finally got a good night's sleep. The only blip was the girls waking me up at 11:00pm :/ Might be a tad difficult to get them up this morning. One has already announced she is not going to school this morning. I don't even think I will fight it. Choose your battles...choose your battles. Maybe if I placed more value on what goes on there...

Pulled my Angel Cards this morning, haven't done that in a long time either. Thought I would share this one, because even if it wasn't pulled for anyone else, it is a wonderful message this morning.

The way I see it is, if the storm was born by the evil doers, we showed them that we can influence nature in ways they can only dream of. They will have seen it happen on the satelite pictures.

I felt strongly that we needed to get together for the few days over the weekend and I know I felt the intention of all our energies over those days. They will have felt it as well.

But for some reason, after Sunday I no longer felt the storm was in our hands and I don't believe it is in their hands either.
Mother Nature is still the boss when it comes to kicking our ass.
This has to run it's course now and like you say our intentions now must be for the safety and health of the people who are suffering.
I think how we all handle the aftermath will say a lot as to where we go from here.

My Loving thoughts are with everyone affected by this disaster.

I hate to bring this up right after a serious post, but this is the "here and now" thread, here goes:

My husband just texted me from the vet's office wherein he has just been informed that one of our dogs has.......... dementia. Googled it. Its a real thing..

My first response to my husband was " only we could have a dog with dementia. ".. then peals of laughter, now I am wondering about the history of this phenomenon. This animal has been on a home made organi diet, has only had one vaccination in 9 years and drinks water with no fluoride.

Any one else out there ever had this occur? Thoughts? Recommendations?

Chester, I have not played around too much with the advanced features of the "Visitor Messages" part of the forum, but noticed some time ago that if you hit "View Conversation", then reply, it keeps clusters of related messages together. My husband and I were at dinner on Sunday at a beautiful continental Indian restaurant with a chef and a menu so good, it brings tears to your eyes. They play live Hindi music, pass the Hooka.... its a great place full of great people.

One table over is a family of five. Mom, Dad and three beautiful teenage girls. All of them were hunched over in their chairs on their smart phones throughout the course of the meal. Absolutely pathetic. They were without question some of the affected. So sad. If I were the owner of the restaurant, I would mandate cell phone checks at the front door.

Not to detract from or diminish thoughts and concerns for those impacted by Sandy ... but I have something of an astrological query mostly for ulli and Carmody (anyone welcome to chime in).

This is a short vid from Patrick Geryl who was interviewed by Bill and Kerry although somewhat dismissed afterwards by them.

Set aside any conclusions the video suggests for 2012 ... but I am curious regarding his claims about astrological circumstances for not only the 1859 Carrington event but also a 1921 event I was not aware of. He then goes on to draw similarities and suggest what is to come (due to astrological forces) in late 12/2012.

I know the basics of astro but would be interested to hear others on this.
