Perhaps, though guesses of 43% and 40%, in a US Presidential race with no major third party candidate, seem sufficiently unlikely to me as to be rather impotent .

That might be because I'm more of a numbers person than the average person.

betcha this was on purpose , to put a mental image in the minds of those who are undecided, no one wants to be on the losing side and face the music the next day. A mental picture when the mind sleeps it will recall the graphic every time.

With you being a 'numbers person', what is your current position on how you think this election is going to turn out? It seems to me that the 'numbers themselves', ( ie. polls, etc.), are beginning to strongly favor a 'decisive' Romney victory, if not perhaps a landslide. I'm just curious as to what your 'expertise' in numbers tells you, and would you kindly share that with us?

what a disappointing debate, instead of important issues, like the Palestinian State and Kurdistan, they rehashed old news.

poor Romney did a great job of pointing out Obama's successes tonight by stating his goals for the next 4 years are what Obama did in the last 4, maybe there is something to Romnesia...

next Iran will agree to a peace deal with Obama the day before Romney shuts down a town to move his company out to China...

but he is a partial owner of the electronic voting company so he might still pull it off the old Bush in Florida way...

Hmmm, well I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and say it was just a mistake. i worked for a tv station once and I can tell you it's not hard to put something on the air by accident. In my day we used the same production switcher for live productions as we did for in house recorded productions (such as local ads) we had to be very careful not to press the "on-air" button at the end of the control row or whatever was on the screen would go out on the air.

I was also there in the weeks before an election and I can tell you it's a busy time. They have to rehearse so things go as smoothly as possible on election night. They produce faux graphics so that the crew can get familiar with putting them on the screen and keeping them up while switching between network and local feed.

It was the '80 election between Reagan and Carter. We were all college students and all of our graphics that we worked with showed Carter winning, so I can identify with this error. Most likely the local broadcast-art department's students were in the control room getting their training for election night and someone put the graphic out on the air by mistake.

But the reaction here is interesting. This is what happens when you lose your credibility by being in the bucket to such an extent for one candidate. When you keep stooping to new lows to try to help one side win; eventually people start to believe anything that they see that seems to help that side is deliberate and nothing is an accident.

I have to say, I don't blame you if it weren't for my personal experience I would believe the same thing. Esp. after that last debate.

Personally, I think what this person says is very plausible. But if you want to talk about fixes being in, perhaps this article should be considered:

I was just taking the easy projection in my previous post. With only two candidates running that can expect any substantial votes, the total of the votes for Obama and Romney will be over 95% of the votes cast, not the 40 + 43 == 83 % that the numbers on that TV screen showed.

As to the more interesting projection, namely which candidate will be elected, that's "above my pay grade."

If I had to bet, I'd agree with you that Romney seems to be gaining. But I'd avoid betting if I could.

that it didn't matter who you vote for because both Dem and Repub

This story may be old news to some but it is the first time I’ve heard of it and it really saddens and disgusts me. I understand it is being told by a grief stricken father but if any or all of it is true then lives could have possibility been saved.

Charles Woods, father of one of the SEALs killed in the attack makes strong comments against President Obama, V.P. Biden, Hillary Clinton and the White House.

Republicans cut the securiy funds through the Tea Party Congess, it was in the HP on the hearing. Republicans voted in 2011 to cut 131 million,then in Dec 2011 voted to cut 331 million on Bengazi security. This is traveling bs when ONLY the CIA knew what was happening, and WE know they aren't the most honest of departments since the Bush's were running it. Some of them still in commmand positions because of "an up or down vote on replacements" that the Party of NO won't even vote on or bring to the floor his appointees for replacement's names. Chalk that up to the HOUSE majority also. They STOPPED THE SECURITY FUNDING TWICE, now they want it to look as if President voted for them to NOT have security and just let them die.

Pretty weak considering this President hasn't every shown malice towards our own on the ground, however, Cheney and Rove HAVE OUTED OUR NUKE AGENTS AND LEAKED STUFF TO FOX.

I sat talking with a rabid Fox watcher this weekend to pick her brain on what they've been programmed to and thought it was strange, they didn't know a town of 5700 people are boarding up and moving thanks to Romney shutting down a factory the day before the election and moving it to China...

he knows how to make money no matter what it takes... but he doesn't know how to create jobs...

she says we need to build up our military to protect our shores...

I asked if she understands the $2 Trillion is to get funds to start new wars in Iran and Pakistan...

I asked how Romney was going to put our kids to work, she said she didn't know...
