Shariri' the here and now with the Village of Love : )
Today I did work at a Friend's home He grew up in...the Friend that I have been doing a bit of work for at his business. His Dad is retired and is still at the home about half the year....I am building some stairs down to the water so that it will be safer access for Him. The home is on Crystal Lake in Osterville.
There is powerful Native American Spirit Energy there....this small lake is spring fed and is right next to the ocean. I know in my heart that it was a place of living and gathering for a very long time for the Indians here for many, many years. It feels of Family and Sustenance sooo strong...a virtual paradise of abundance it was for Them. The ocean...the pure fresh water right there with it....You can fill in all the beautiful pieces of what this place was to Them. A wonderful thing to be doing some work here....am I at these places in the now for endless reasons of a Higher doing with what has gone on recently to be sure I'm here through the Solstice?...You bet, gratitude is all I can feel...and I'm grateful for that too, HaHa!!!

See You All On The Other Side : )
...wherever that may be and however and whenever we get there : )
..maybe we're there and just don't 'fully' know it yet!
Oh, thanks DeDukshyn: "He didn't hold the butt in tight enough to his shoulder (or rather he didn't hold his shoulder tense enough)..."
I remembered wrong about ex-hubby. He did instruct to hold it against my shoulder. But I was still smarting from 30 seconds prior.

Oh, I don't know, Ulli, is it because it was a stupid thing to do? Yeah, and it serves me right? Lol both true...
Nooooooooooo....because your mind said ya gotta do it to make people happy around you...
but your heart did not want that!!!

Exactly what I had thought... and then a few posts down you wrote it - you'll be ok soon enough, 1inMany, and can laugh about it with Ulli and then we'll be able to laugh too.

My last hour or so stroll through the Village...

Thanks Modwiz (Post #23639) – your support helps me stay steady – please, give me your take on eggs... I am getting weak and want some scrambled eggs so freaking badly.
I think eggs are a perfect food. Eating them raw is the finest quality protein you can get. Cooking them breaks the protein chains. Raw eggs are basically tasteless and any reluctance is all mental. Some worry about salmonella. Pfft! Bring it on. Just something else to digest. LOL. I just saw this post.
I have several books with information that you may be interested in about eggs from two people on the planet of billions. I eat eggs, but too many days in a row I get hives.

I am not a macrobiotic purest. Meat, dairy, sugar, caffeine are not part of the macrobiotic way. I eat foods such as garlic and oil pizza, Ben & Jerry’s, and cream cheese and bagels, Paul Newman’s cookies, blue corn chips (from health isle). To name a few. With that said, it’s not a judgement post.

“Food and Healing,” by: Annemarie Colbin

“...What are the psychospiritual effects of consuming eggs? From my observation of people whose major source of animal protein is eggs, I would say that too many eggs encourage a tough and brusque attitude, perhaps overwhelming gentler feelings of kindness and patience*. On the other hand, modest amounts of eggs - just as with meat, fish, and fowl - support aggressiveness, drive, and the ability to run a business and to actualize potential energy.”

*This part of the sentence is confusing in it’s placement: “...perhaps overwhelming gentler feelings of kindness and patience.”

From the macrobiotic point of view:

    “Basic Macrobiotics,” by: Herman Aihara

The most yang, acid-forming animal food is egg. The order of animal foods in the chart are: shellfish, white meat fish, fowl, meat, red meat fish, lastly eggs.

"All foods can be divided into yin and yang according to Oriental philosophy, and into acid-forming and alkaline-forming foods according to Western science. When we combine these two concepts we get four basic categories of food. The foods in each group are ordered from the most yin item within the category to the most yang.

    - Yin Alkaline-forming: honey, coffee, herb tea, spices, fruits, seeds, most vegetables, some beans.
    - Yin Acid-forming: chemical drugs, pills, sugar, candy, soft drinks, alcoholic drinks, some beans, nuts
    - Yang Alkaline-forming: Bancha tea, dandelion tea, lotus root, burdock root, sesame salt, soy sauce, miso, umeboshi, salt
Yang Acid-forming: grains, fish, cheese, chicken, pork, beef, eggs

Yin foods have a tendency to cool the body, loosen muscles, reduce tension, slow down movement, prolong sleeping time, and cause excretion to be loose and have less color. If eaten in excess for you condition they make you tired, cause anemia, paleness, loss of appetite, and slowness in speaking. If you have a yin condition, eating an excess of yin foods will make it worse.

Yang goods have a tendency to warm the body, tighten muscles, cause tension speed up movement, lessen sleeping time, and cause excretion to be harder and darker, When taken in excess they can cause fever, a reddish face, constipation, and rapid speech.

In terms of our mentality, yin foods tend to cause yin emotions and thinking such as fear, suspicion, sentimentality, worry and resentment. Yang foods cause such yang emotions and thinking as hostility, aggressiveness, noisiness, and ruthlessness."

So at least now I know why I strangely jumped on Ulli... hahaha See, Ulli? It was just the eggs! Love to All - been a nice stroll back in the Village (New York was boring)

And even better when the chickens are in your backyard! I started with eight, and two have died in about two years, so I'm down to six, but I love those chickens. Not only do they give us eggs, and love as pets (one is particular is very sweet and affectionate and loves to be petted, a Rhode Island Red), but they compost all of our compostables and the poop goes into the garden as fertilizer. Amazing machines, and pretty too. Seriously, how the %&$* does a chicken lay an egg?!? That, to me, is a mystery of the universe. Everytime I pull one from the coop I marvel at the wonder of it: an egg!

I haven't yet eaten one raw yet, but I should try. Would eating raw eggs from our backyard chickens warrant less exposure to salmonella?

    Remember this:

Five raw eggs at once! That should be a new Discordian rite.

i did eat raw eggs when i was small from the neighbour farm. Never had any problem.
In fact, it is good, and still better in an eggnoll (wow, how do you call this drink in english?)

don't do like rocky, eat them warm from the chick nest. It is better tasting. Or in a drink.

Playdo, that Rocky scene was EXACTLY what I thought of when we started talking about eating raw eggs! hehehe
You can all have my share of raw eggs. And mostly cooked eggs too.
But if I were eating them, back yard chicken eggs are what I'd want, yes.

I live with 5 hens and a rooster. 4 ducks to. 2 males 2 females. They are like a comedy show. The hens are really fun, the rooster came after me one day. 9eagle explained rooster psychology to me after that. Neither of us got hurt. (I went easy on him and he has no spurs yet )

Eggs. I barely eat them and only if someone else prepares them for me. As a single man I prepare 99.99% of my own meals. In 23 years of being a veggie guy protein has never been a real concern for me. I am fortunate to be possessed of a reasonable intellect and am unable to perceive a scenario where I am denying myself what I need. Most importantly, I listen to my body. Actually, I live in it too. This relationship has not only kept me exceedingly healthy and robust, but also free of medical needs and doctor visits. I can feel when my iron gets low, which is rare, and supplement accordingly.

I find the people are obsessed about protein and it is all based on programming. Media and medical industry programs the people and then they almost militantly defend the matrix. Just like Morpheus informs Neo that they will. Cypher kills his own to get back in the matrix to eat fake steak. SO powerful!

To answer your question about salmonella, one only has to look at the filthy conditions if any factory farming method to see the septic setting of them. Clearly a health hazard. Still, a healthy body is quite resistant to almost anything. Pastuer had a colleague who refuted his germ/disease theory and supported the "terrain" theory, (my understanding and experience). He drank a flask of typhus infected water, knowing of his own health, to prove his point.

If this story turns out to be made up I will be embarrassed.

I have collected some eggs here. It is like a form of xmas. Little gifts from the hens. I love watching them scratch and peck. The happy sounds they make is also very pleasing.

    ouf, what a dream Carmody.
It's not always bad news, it's just a mental ideal and shaping of what I may encounter during the day.

Thus, all of the aspects of the dream sequences unfolded during the day.

that was the last bit, being slammed against the wall, by this chimera.

Well, that is what exactly happened, sort of.

You see..I am one of the original 'gamers'. When computers came along and then entertainment in the form of games. I spent $1100 for a gaming machine, when I was 15 years old. That kind of gaming crazy. Not to the point of extreme obsession, but probably more than I should have.

There is a certain game, that happened back in 1991 to 1994 or so, that shaped computer gaming into what it is today. And I was a huge fan of that game, and one of the first to put together LAN systems, and do what is known as 'multi-player' mode with it.

And they just came out with a 20th anniversary version of the game, about mid last year. I told a friend at a used goods shop to hold a copy of it, for me..if a used copy ever came in. Consider it sold, I said. I'm an excitable guy, and I dig the tension that the more intense feeling games bring. But, I'm actually wired that way.

As they say (Hunter S Thompson, IIRC), "when the going gets weird, the weird go pro". Thus, when things go sideways, everyone freaks out --I just get normal. Things are much simpler, then. The older people are, the easier time I have talking with them, as they are more clear about what is - and what is not. The thousand yard stare thing. If we continue to grow in the given life, one might say that we grow toward it, or something akin to it.

It is also a form of escapism, into a simpler place, where the given pressures of the day and life disappear for a few hours. But,.....mentally healthy? No. Which is why I gave it up, knowing how bad it is for mental development and 'mind'.

Some of you might have figured out that it is Cormack's masterpiece of the genera. ID software. The 'BFG version' of Doom 3 arrived at the store.

And I picked it up. And in it, when I play the game....a giant chimera of that type WILL kill me, when I 'fail', in the game. I've put it aside, no time to play it right now.

the other reason I wanted that version, is that I'm experimenting, right now... with the current 3D television technology, to see how it affects the mind and brain. Not quite the same kind of self told lie, where I get to eat cake, but pretty close.

    Q:What are you doing?!?

A: I'm playing Doom! It's a science experiment. No, really!

That sounds like a jolly circus, Modwiz. My old German professor in college, he was from Lübeck, had a little farm and I worked for him for some extra cash, but I would have done it for free. He had dozens of fowl of all kinds: ducks, geese, guineas, chickens, and even parakeets inside his house. Each bird had their own personality and each group their own pecking order, and it was a hoot to watch them interact with each other. I remember that the guineas would kill snakes on the property. He had a dachshund named Beppo that would herd them around. It was a strange, but merry sight to see. We built a little pond for them and they loved it.

As for the communicating with your body, that is sage advice. In just the past few years I have awoken to that and taken it into practice by being cognizant of what I eat and what my body needs. Since then, I have been able to avoid illness. In the past I have been beset with allergic, sinus issues when the seasons change into Fall and also Spring, but the biggest change in my diet that I believe has so far helped me to avoid the sinus colds has been, thanks to Purple Lama's recommendation and gift (still using the same bottle, that stuff lasts forever!) is the atomidine. I am not vegetarian, but my diet is basically 85% vegetarian. I live close enough to the Gulf to eat seafood, but try not to after the oil spill. And Gawd I love crawfish..... And meat, well, I have to admit that one of my biggest deterrents from eating meats is the cost. I can't afford it! Ha! Honestly, though, since I am not willing to pay for meat on a regular basis, it has allowed me to distance myself from the habit of eating it on a regular basis, and I don't think about it. At least there's one up side to frugality.

ok, getting out your old experiments, one dating from 2001. Too much weed again lol.

What was the giant chimera that killed you in 2001 and how did you fail the experiment (i hope it is not all the same girl/guy who did them all lol).

That reminds me a story. We were a group of young Canadians in El Salvador (extensive exchange program) doing some social work (digging out houses in 110 farenheit because the peasant would not do it and our project was not working). One of the guy of the group disappeared for a couple of days. He came back, everything was fine for a week. Then, the second or third week, he gots one of those intense fever, his whole body swelled and he asked me to get my Salvadorian doctor "friend" (the doctor was chasing me like crazy and I was not interested). So I did. He just found out that he was totally allergic to penicilin. And I found out where he had been for two days. It was a risky place. Later on, when he got married, he made me swear never to tell his wife. lol

Carmody, you are making me miss the good old time......

Oh, I just remember laughing really hard when I saw that 'April fools joke' that was played on students at the university of Toronto, with full staff approval. I was hoping the image of it would still be on the net.....and it was.

It's one of the classic best of April fools jokes.

It kind of covers the idea of one getting their cake ..and getting paid for it too. For Science! (with raised arm and finger) (hand on heart). No, really!

    Edit:
Interestingly enough, I just received a 'robo-call' from Quebec.

I've only listened to the first 40 minutes, but Manly explained exactly what I did, in order to surpass my familial origins and upbringing, in order to return to the 'pure' state, and slip the surly bonds of physicality and locality of 'this place'.

I'd never read on any of this stuff, the esoteric stuff, other than to know that it existed. And I like to think that Manly's statement (paraphrasing) that "if a person is clear, then..everything required to get there, is already within them."

And I did exactly that. THEN I checked the answer sheet, to see if I was correct. And I was. I came up with the same answers.

It was the ultimate personal 'secondary source' proofing, in the sense of how science likes to operate.

I wanted no chance of there being any sort of so called 'bias' introduced via preconditioning or similar. Aka, 'expectation bias'. None of that. Yet, I ended up at the same spot that is spoken of, in the esoteric texts and explanations. (the really 'far out' stuff, that is)

I keep thinking that when people finally figure out HOW MUCH of what they are today, is bastardized and shifted from where it should be, just how upset they will be.
You can read the full text of Manly P Hall's book 'The Secret Teachings of all the Ages' (1928) here:

It's probably one of the most interesting books I ever bought and covers a wide variety of subjects, like The Kabbalah, Pythagorean Mathematics, and The Symbolism of the Human Body. It's well worth a look.

The website it's from www.sacred-texts.com has plenty of other essential reading too.

And even better when the chickens are in your backyard! I started with eight, and two have died in about two years, so I'm down to six, but I love those chickens. Not only do they give us eggs, and love as pets (one is particular is very sweet and affectionate and loves to be petted, a Rhode Island Red)...

Just to say that I 'did it right', I splurged on this version, back around 2003 or so:

(not my copy, just a representation, from a website)

I felt the full sized gatefolds, in their proper context, as a single vision, for the eye and hand to wander over, was key to the text and connectivity to the text.

The hardest lesson of all, in the end..is that we don't learn from our points of and in life and ease, we learn from our pain and our losses. That our nightmares, our horrors.... are our greatest teachers.

A life of ease and perfection, means nothing, to growth and change. Nothing at all.

To be broken, and struggling with it, is to be blessed with the turning to growth.

To reconcile, with that, in full understanding, and peace....is part of what it is... to be free of this place.

Wow, that's a pretty coop, and looks very efficient, too! I'd be embarrassed to show mine next to that. My coop is purely functional and not aesthetic at all. I built mine by collecting random materials and junk I found laying around, you know, left over 2X4's, discarded wire fencing, old wooden palettes, and even a cast iron kitchen sink converted into two nesting boxes with a little hay. The only thing I purchased was synthetic, corrugated roofing material which was on sale at the hardware store because the pieces were damaged. It is truly a podunkoop. One day, when I have a bit of land, my ultimate dream, I will build a chicken tractor and let those chickens loose!

Here's today's Non Sequitur for all you cat lovers:

Edit: Ah, Baron von Münchhausen! That was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I haven't thought of that in years. Thanks for posting Carmody.
