Major fault of mine ... that being honesty.

Has not worked out well in my lifetime ... but I *really* believe that thangs are a changin'

I thought it was liars who kept saying 'I don't recall', 'I've forgotten', 'I can't remember'

I have *no* idea ...

(or if I do then I've forgotten)

Memories get distorted at each telling (or not), but I agree, it certainly helps to stick with the way it happened rather than the myriad ways it didn't happen. The lie is different at every level!

My here and now, just turned off that painful debate between Piers Morgan and Alex Jones on CNN...so I could contemplate it's implications. My eyes landing on a huge flower arrangement....wow...

The flowers had just been brought into the room by my husband as a birthday gift...
and totally drew my mind away from that other meandering and back to my own here and now
Which happens to be a glorious day.
If more people did that perhaps that whole gun debate might evaporate as a non issue.

I killed my dog, almost!

Making excuses for not taking him out on his evening walks(as the sun goes down)!

As I approach 62, it is essay to make more excuses.


Let it be said, he keeps me young. As Ulli said Here and Now! Today was a beautiful day here in Kentucky, USA. Tempuretures about 35 degrees in winter.

We are blessed to live on a golf course. No, we are not rich! My wife and I live on disability. But it is a beautiful setting, one mile from town.

Any way, I let the dog(Copper) go for a cuople of weeks without his walk. He came to me every day wanting his walk. What I am saying is, I don't want to kill the sprit of my dog. He lifts me up, in all my trials and efforts.

Happy Birthday, Ulli.

Paula, that beautiful artwork of yours reminds me that this year I finally made some huge ice-candles, (or ice candle-holders, really.) I made 2 kinds:
one had layers of red and white ice (pour a layer, wait for freeze, pour a layer... adding a plastic cup before pouring the last two layers makes a hole for the candle to sit in - remove after final freeze), making 5-gallon bucket sized "candy canes", and the other style was made by filling 5-gallon buckets with water, waiting 18 hours; then inverting, breaking through the top, and pouring out the water. This leaves a shell of ice into which a candle is placed.

Candy canes? I have a 13-year old daughter, and it added whimsy.

The hollow ones are really cool, sort of a blend of something elegant and organic, especially as the ice cracks, partially melts, and refreezes.

Now that is something easier to make in Duluth, MN than in Costa Rica!
