How it's looking like now from Las Puntas de La Frontera:

For the last 10 days, it now shows whatever Polly is up to as far as seismic activity is concerned:

    GPS solutions from IGN

    GPS Stations location:

Location of the EQs since June 24th, 2012:

    * : Polly was so named from the “polycephalic snake” look of the initial cumulative energy graph (see post # 327).
The name became most appropriate when the eruption from multiple mouths/vents/cones/heads started to develop.

    Polly’s* latest:

    Strongest so far (no data):

Frequencies spectrogram, the vertical streaks indicate “events” (tremors/EQs) whereas the horizontal ones reflect volcanic/magmatic activity:
Quote From Wikipedia: A Harmonic tremor is a sustained release of seismic and/or infrasonic energy typically associated with the underground movement of magma and/or venting of volcanic gases from magma. Being a long-duration continuous signal from a temporally extended source, a volcanic tremor contrasts distinctly with transient sources of seismic radiation, such as tremors that are typically associated with earthquake and explosion.

The green squiggle at 09:10 above is the Mag. 7.7 (Downgraded to 7.5) in Alaska as recorded at the El Hierro CTIG station:

    7.7 102km W of Craig, Alaska 2013-01-05 08:58:19 55.292°N 134.728°W -9.6Km

Same one as recorded at La Gomera station:

It appears that the Harmonic tremor is significantly picking up and, having a look at the GPS evolution (top of page), it seems like the whole El Hierro island is sitting on a giant "Magma-mattress" that is getting inflated with new magma injections.

So what does this 'magma mattress' mean? Surely with all the eruptions elsewhere it may deflate? I check Geryl, Suspicious Observers, the barcaroller and the webbots regularly. (Plus the platitudinous spaceweather et al). The planetary alignments are more severe early spring, although EQ watch now from mild sun activity and alignments.

    - Diario El Hierro is publishing an article today which gives a synopsis of a far bigger article in Geology, a specialized magazine (the magazne is behind a pay wall!). Most important to know is that the eruption at El Hierro added 329 million cubic meters of magma to the island. Diario also mentioned that this volume is the equivalent of 120,000 olympic swimming pools, but in terms of volcanic eruptions after all a limited volume. ER hates to see reports behind paying walls which have been written by scientists who are paid with public money!

That eruptions are occurring elsewhere in the world doesn't mean that the volume of magma under El Hierro would diminish since these magma chambers are completely independent from each other and separated by vast distance.

The actual name for a "Magma-mattress" is a large "Sill" or "Laccolith" (1 ) or it could also be a "Lopolith" (7):

    1. Laccolith
    2. Small dike
    3. Batholith
    4. Dike
    5. Sill
    6. Volcanic neck, pipe
    7. Lopolith

I personally wouldn't put too much credence in a Patrick Geryl or an oberver that can't help but be biased since he is suspicious to start with (an observation is no more than what is being observed).

What ER reports is the actual LAVA expelled underwater, not the volume of MAGMA that has been and is being injected under the island.

Being a long-duration continuous signal from a temporally extended source, a volcanic tremor contrasts distinctly with transient sources of seismic radiation, such as tremors that are typically associated with earthquake and explosion.
