    Interesting..

    http://phys.org/news/2013-01-flies-w...tarianism.html

"Microbe-eating flies from at least three different locations around the world recently have evolved into herbivores, feeding on some of the most toxic plants on Earth. Fly detectives and UA evolutionary biologists Noah Whiteman and Richard Lapoint are trying to find out what genetic pathways led the flies to such a major change of lifestyle. For millennia, they buzzed through the woods, contentedly munching yeasts off the surfaces of leaves, bracken and rotting duff on the forest floor. But now, flies in the family Drosophilidae, whose disparate members dwell in areas all across the planet, have evolved into all-out vegetarians with a wicked diet of plants that are deadly to most other organisms. What, University of Arizona scientists would like to know, has caused these flies, yeast-feeders for nearly 80 million years, to independently go cold turkey with respect to their formerly meaty diets?"

    Very telling, IMO.

If you get a chance and a second, send some light my way...got real dark here all of a sudden. Summy REALLY doesn't like it. V stirs in her sleep.

I even feel a lil' something but hopefully not enough to keep me up. Just a little calm, maybe? It's a restless energy to me,

Not to be dramatic, but it does feel ominous around here (the forum in general, or at least the five or so threads I've been between).

Then again, I've never thought that I was really "sensitive to energies" so-to-speak.

Has a solar flare hit? My hearts hammering in my chest and I feel anxious. Thankfully these days it wears off quickly. I seem to integrate the energies a lot easier than I used to. I'm off to work. Have a great here and now, whatever your timeline.

On the subject of labour pains, I have no, even vicarious, experience since my wife had two scheduled C-sections first thing on Monday mornings. The two births occurred at exactly 10:10 and both were registered exactly 48 hours later, so that was my first experience of clock synchronicities.

We saw a cutting-edge (ouch!) obstetrician from the get-go because my wife is very petite and also because my mum died from complications after having my brother when I was very small. My wife had epidurals, I sat in on the operations behind her head, and being an empath, I didn’t feel a thing

As I recall, there were preparatory sessions for dealing with the pain, and the dads were encouraged to attend, not to deal with the pain but to help the sufferer, i.e. second the midwife rather than be a second patient; but we never went, knowing in advance that such skills were not going to be needed. So that ‘double Dutch’ act is doubly foreign to me

I am sorry to hear of all you ladies’ difficult birthing experiences. I would have expected someone to be explaining reduced pain delivery techniques (eg. my sister-in-law gave birth underwater). It is an interesting subject to be sure if we see what we are going through as a kind of global birthing experience.

I gave birth in the West London Hospital at Hammersmith, which that year (1979) had won an award for best maternity ward in England. I concluded that the award was for most efficient torture. If I had to sit in a restaurant on a chair with a 2inch piece of foam, after an hour I would have to get up and look for somewhere a bit less hard. Here they had me for 16 hours on a 2" foam mattress never suggesting if I might be more comfortable on my side.
Anyway, apart from the usual trauma, and having to walk around with twenty switches* (meant stitches )since I ripped open before the doctor could use the scalpel, I needed treatment for a damaged coccyx for months afterwards.
I decided there and then never to have another child. Everyone told me I would soon forget, but I didn't. My memory loss has to do with different issues.

What is going on? I woke up late, well the power went off twice last night, and my every bone aches - especially my chest. Cannot determine a source for my ills. I did have a filling put in yesterday and I thought he used a bit too much novacane as the side of my face from jaw to eyeball was frozen for hours.
The weather is also doing summersaults in the last week, temps from -25 to (today) + 15 (celsius). And we've had every type of weather phenomena too: rain, snow, sleet, thunderstorms, tornado warnings and high winds.

I'm going back to bed...maybe a few more hours of sleep will help.
This is not normal for me, I usually have some warning of any oncoming sickness.

If I was stronger I'd send out some positive vibes for others but today I will have to focus on myself.

retracting the last statement, this is the perfect time to send out those vibes as I am never that weak, and positive intentions help on all levels

Guys and Gals, a call out for some help please..

I just found out about this...

    From Max Igan

"Unfortunately, my 19 year old son Daniel is amongst those who have been devastated by this past weeks flooding in the Australian town of Bundaberg.

The ground floor unit he was renting has been totally flooded, as high as about a foot into the 1st floor unit above him, and his unit has been completely underwater for the last 3 days and is still completely submerged. He is currently keeping a close eye on water levels in the hope of gaining access to his unit before any looters arrive as there are typically many bands of looters taking advantage of the situation. When the floods hit, my son managed to escape the waters with his laptop, his monitor, 3 books and 2 changes of clothes but has lost everything else in the floods. He is 20 years old, has been there for around 18 months now and this was his first home away from his parents. He has lost all his clothes, 2 computers, his guitar and amp, all his furniture, literally hundreds of books and collectors edition of various types, his car, all his personal effects... everything he owns, except what he could carry... including his accomodation.

My son Daniel has Aspergers syndrome, he feels very secure in the familiarity of his surroundings and he has lost that now. Essentially, he has lost everything he knew to be his life. He is being very strong but I feel the anguish in his voice, though perhaps I feel it so much more because he is my son... If you have ever felt a desire to donate to the crowhouse or to help anyone less fortunate than yourself, then I ask you to please consider offering a contribution to my son in this time of need. It would truly mean a great deal to me. The email address for his paypal is Iganrowe (at) hotmail.com

If you are able to help in anyway, I offer you my most humble and most sincere thanks from the very bottom of my heart.

    In Lak'ech

    max Igan '

THanks all.. even your thoughts and prayers..

For those that don't know Max's work.. here is his latest show, part 1

Round and round, and round and round, we all went in my dreams last night. As if the story of Avalon was going on in front of me. Same people, different faces, different times. Trials and errors, love and hate, war and peace. And the question was, What is it gonna be this time, uh?

I'm staying away from those threads from now on. Too big a banquet there..... nom, nom, nom.

Weird weather going on. Who said life was boring ? hehehehe...

    [i certainly don't get it]
Meant stitches, and probably less than twenty, but it felt like a roll of barbed wire between my legs.
LOL! I hear you. 24 hours of labor, and a "fear" of needles, no epidural on that one. And the dipsh!t doctor just watched me, apparently, rip and tear. I was so naive. After the birth, I saw a needle coming at me in an area where no needle had any business. Inquiring, ever so gently and quietly as one might expect in this situation, something probably rather like wtf do you think you are doing with that needle?! It was to "deaden" the nerves. Oh, sure, you want to do that after the birth? When you are releasing a watermelon through a straw, actually that would be the best time to have done that, as I don't think I would have felt it having been stretched to the point of ripping open. And a needle and thread approach after that? I kept asking, how many stitches are you planning, here? or Are you going to be done soon? I rather thought at the time I would like to reverse the end of the needle...

Funny, crs but I remember that. Second and third births, I got over the fear of the epidural reeeeeeeally fast.

Oh, how I would do things differently. Birth in water, turned on the side, hell I would probably even go for what they did in my mom's day. In her day, they put the mother completely out and when she woke up she had this nice, clean, sweet bundle of joy.

Okay, I wouldn't really do that, but if I only knew then what I know now....

Life is a road we don't travel alone. But everyone's on their own journey home.

Not your 'best typo' then Ulli, but this is no switch-hunt

More excruciating cases coming out I see. Understandable when you think - and we seldom do - that childbirth still kills about half a million a year.
