Hopefully they won't ruin Star Wars any further. It's become so overly commercial. To me the books were always better, the Expanded Universe is great, especially with the Old Trilogy characters. I used to devour the books.

Ask yourself if you don't get it done today, will it matter in five years? If it won't matter in five years, don't worry about it until you feel like getting to it. That has helped me when I stress about things that aren't that important. Also, I try and just pick one task and stick to it and finish it before I worry about the next task. Hope that helps.

That's darn good advice sleepy!

Here's a slightly "mechanical" way of prioritising "things to do" (this is a very individual thing - IMPORTANCE relates to achieving your goals/tasks etc):

1 = Urgent AND Important - do it ASAP
2 = Important NOT Urgent - near future, maybe start it now
3 = Urgent NOT Important - usually interruptions, we all waste a lot of time here
4 = NOT Urgent or Important - sleepy's advice - these are things we often like to do but don't usually move us forward

If it's a really big "thing", break it into smaller steps. Even the proverbial elephant can be eaten, not in one sitting, but one mouthfull at a time

Star Wars is such a focal point, just about everything can be referenced back to it. To bad Kevin Bacon wasn't in it. (I know the words in the comic are small, but it's worth squinting to read, IMO. If you don't then my statement doesn't make any sense.)

"DO or DO NOT... there is no such thing as TRY..."

Even the whole concept of the "Force" sums up our Universe/All-that-is beautifully. It's as simple or complicated as we make it

The Pastor's Ass

The Pastor entered his donkey in a race and
it won.

The Pastor was so pleased with the donkey
that he entered it in the race again and it won again.

The local paper read:

PASTOR'S ASS OUT FRONT.

The Bishop was so upset with this kind of
publicity that he ordered the Pastor not to enter the donkey in another race.

The next day the local paper headline read:

BISHOP SCRATCHES PASTOR'S ASS.

This was too much for the Bishop so he
ordered the Pastor to get rid of the donkey.

The Pastor decided to give it to a Nun in a nearby convent.

The local paper, hearing of the news, posted
the following headline the next day:

NUN HAS BEST ASS IN TOWN.

The Bishop fainted.

He informed the Nun that she would have to
get rid of the donkey so she sold it to a farmer for $10.

The next day the paper read:

NUN SELLS ASS FOR $10.

This was too much for the Bishop so he ordered the Nun to buy back the
donkey and lead it to the plains where it could run wild.

The next day the headlines read:

NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE.

The ! Bishop was buried the next day.

The moral of the story is . . . being concerned about public opinion
can bring you much grief and misery . .. even shorten your life.

So be yourself and enjoy life.

Stop worrying about everyone else's ass and
you'll be a lot happier and live longer!

If I think about it, I can't say what my favorite SW quote is but every time (happened again a few days ago) I tell myself "I'll give it a try", I have that Yoda voice in my head telling me there is no try.

Hm, how about this: "choices of one shape the futures of all". That's a Jedi saying from one of the books.

Oh, new name! Speaking of Chewbacca...
I've met George Lucas. I was one of his lunch guests. He had two of his three kids with him, his son, Jett and daughter, Katie. I stayed at SkyWalker Ranch about 10 times. It was because my sister and her husband were the Ranch Managers up until about 5 years ago. They lived right there. Her husband is still part of the operation and stays there part time.

My sister had access to places that the public aren't privy to. I got to see a lot of neat things: drawings of the characters, all the way to the finished models, the original movie sets, and memorabilia like Harrison Ford's leather jacket and bull whip. I've got a photo of my son with the Darth Vader's mask.

My favorite is the original Yoda which is now sealed and on display in the building where George's office is. I was in his office a couple of times when he wasn't in. He had a large desk calendar with his schedule. It had SW (Star Wars) and arrows through the days of the week. On the mantle of the fireplace, he had all the action figures from the movies. He's a regular, nice guy, and he's very shy.

In the photo, I'm the one hugging my brother and sister. The lady in the first row is another sister (not the one from the ranch) and the boy with the soccer ball shirt is my son. Those are the real deals in the displays. This photo was taken in the 1980's.

Wow. Is there a "I almost fainted when I read this" smiley? Oh wait, there actually is:

On another note: it's my second week as a Vegetarian. I like meat but I had a change of heart recently. Never thought I'd become a Vegetarian but I feel that I can no longer condone the suffering of animals, just so I can eat them. Industrial livestock farming is a crime.
