What about paper? In the 9th century the Chinese used paper armour (Robert Temple, The Genius of China, p.83). If you can use it for armour you can use it for just about anything, including paper aeroplanes After all, they already use it for money, as if money grew on trees...

Papercould be used for disposable clothing and bed linen, and the much-polluting laundry industry could be cut back. And if they were really seriously about carbon sequestration, you could bury the stuff in landfill.

Or you could build more libraries and let people educate themselves... The possibilities are endless.

I thought Hemp and the Cannabis plant were the same thing, I have been taught another lesson, not to listen to all that is said as some of it is LIES
the fact that this product could have been the fuel of choice is incredible, along with the many other uses of the hemp plant.

What another disaster for humanity, that this has been taken away from us by the greedy few.

Hemp seed oil has been dubbed, "Nature's most perfectly balanced oil" due to the fact that it contains the perfectly balanced 3:1 ratio of both the required essential fatty acids (EFAs) for long term human consumption. It seems that the US government does not recognise the distinction between marijuana and the non-psychoactive Cannabis sativa which is used for industrial and commercial purposes.


Countries that export industrial hemp to the U.S. usually have a strict limit on the percent of THC present in a sample. Anything over 1 percent THC by weight would be considered marijuana. Industrial hemp usually has less than 0.3 percent THC by weight, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Marijuana grown for drugs typically has 3 to 15 percent THC by weight.
Federal law prohibits farmers from growing both marijuana and industrial hemp. But hemp products are legal in the United States. Companies that use hemp as an ingredient can legally import hemp. Bills supporting local industrial hemp in several states have aimed to undercut federal restrictions on farming.
But these bills, lawsuits, protests and formal petitions to the White House in recent years haven't changed the current federal law. In response to a formal petition to allow industrial hemp farming, a representative from the Obama administration wrote, “While most of the THC in cannabis plants is concentrated in the marijuana, all parts of the plant, including hemp, can contain THC, a Schedule I controlled substance.”

good work...i wish i could fill every acre on my farm with hemp and med pot....but even growing one single plant here in iowa would get me jail time at the very least...there is hope.look at how many states already changing there stance...im waiting for iowa to wake up....then look out!! ill be like johny apple seed.

My father has been living with lung cancer for the last eight years or so -- it still hasn't healed Next step - medicinal hemp oil! (he's finally fully on board). In BC, there has been a bit of silent movement, and there are doctors there handing out the needed recommendations for permits to possess and grow (medicinally). There is already an underground market particularly in BC for medicinal hemp oil along with recreational, but soon it will be less "underground". Due to the massive amounts of permits that have been obtained, my friend is predicting a flooded market, lower prices, and more people researching into it as it grows in the masses awareness about what this amazing plant can actually do for humanity.

Looking forward to see how the next year or so pans out in Canada in regards to hemp. We have to show the Harpy that Canada is a democracy and he works for US!

Nice, it's illegal to grow or have something that , makes you relax, heals you, feeds you, puts money in your pockect, helps produced all sorts of needed things, and has untold uses we haven't discovered yet ... hmmmm... weeds grow naturallly, yet they don't outlaw weeds... oil comes from the earth , we should outlaw oil ...

Many people grow it now

Just do a you-tube video search of "how to grow marijuana" and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Just Google "buy marijuana seeds" and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Just do a Google search " hydroponics" and you will be pleasantly surprised how many commercial suppliers in your area to help you get started.

they do outlaw weeds in iowa..there called noxious weeds like thistle ect...no jail time but you can be fined and warned for letting said weeds grow...i have list some where of what weeds are good and what weeds are bad...that could get you a hefty fine...thank you...i forgot about the list until i read your post....i cannot admit to growing...but i can tell you i have not took a single pill in 10 years...not even asprin.no prescribed pills or otherwise.sorry about spelling ...no spell chk.

The noxious weed thing happens a lot - St Johns Wort is a noxious weed in Australia. Eradicate it or pay fines! I have a constant fight with Blackberries on my rural block - these are also Noxious weeds and I have to destroy them.

Super thanks WhiteFeather!! I will mind that my father has been LIVING (a reasonable quality life) with lung cancer in both lungs for over eight years! This does not happen in people who look to the "System" for their treatment -- in other words he has already been using some non - traditional - "non drug" treatments. I attribute the main influence to AHCC -- a medicinal mushroom extract. There is tonnes of scientific research behind AHCC for a cancer preventative. treatment, and even cure. Although anything to add to the arsenal is muchly appreciated.

I wouldn't consider this necessarily as an alternative to hemp -- but a supplement to it. Hemp has been shown in scientific studies to choke off blood supplies to tumors -- it is proven scientific peer reviewed fact - I have a certain access to studies not available to public. but the public info is fairly reliable as well. Hemp can be a cure for cancer. Maybe not in every case all the time -- but it does work and is proven to far beyond anecdotes.

Thanks again Whitefeather, like I said, every bit can potentially help, and how is not important as the happening itself!
