Default Birds falling from the Sky

I have seen this reported before over the years but not in the UK. I came across this article in last weeks print version of the daily mail.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...le-garden.html

This happened last week in Coxley, Somerset. Most seemed to fall in one lady's front garden.

Does anyone have a better explanation than those given in the article? To be honest, I can't belive the RSPCA's report that they think a Sparrow Hawk chased them into the ground. Maybe one might misjudge how high they were but not that many...

Other reports of this phenomenon claim aircraft impact as a possibility, which we all know does happen, but they would be spread much wider if they were hit at altitude and no witnesses on this report claim to have heard aircraft around.

    Really weird...

I posted this same story on Avalon 1 a week ago under the title: "Birds Dropping From The Sky". If you're on that forum then you'll be able to see the replies. It's in the What's Going Down/News And Updates section.

The poor starlings had physical injuries...crushed beaks and broken wings...I noticed in the OP link to the Daily Mail article that the garden where they were found seems to be solid, covered in pebbles.
So something could have 'brought them down' ...and then they crashed onto the hard surface and were injured..? Perhaps radar? Or something else...brought them down.

I've often wondered if HAARP has anything to do with this. Besides hearing the reports of birds falling from the skies I've also noticed myself changes in the formations of birds, they seem confused. I pay attention to the animals and insects because they are the first to be affected by changes.

Have noticed birds acting a bit funny over here too.

Even tho just Pidgeons, the flock was flying around in circles. Was just driving down a street, noticed them pass over, stopped @ traffic lights, saw them pass over again, then once more before we took off. It was strange.

Havent heard of them dropping from the sky, but aparently we've had fish falling from the sky instead?

Yeah...I've heard about fish falling from the sky. Something like this: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worl...-Lajamanu.html

I've always heard it was because tornadoes or waterspouts sucked them up and they eventually got dumped far far away from where they were originally.

I found this on birds falling from the sky (along with other curious things):

    http://www.prairieghosts.com/falls_sky.html

Quote During the early morning hours of a day in November 1896, a deluge of dead birds fell from a clear sky above Baton Rouge, Louisiana. They fell in such numbers that contemporary accounts say that they “cluttered the streets of the city”. The birds included wild ducks, catbirds, woodpeckers and many birds of strange plumage, some of them “resembling canaries”. The birds were all dead and fell in heaps throughout the city. The only plausible theory advanced as to the source of the birds was that they had been driven inland by a recent storm along the Florida coast and had been killed by a sudden change in temperature around Baton Rouge. The editors of the Monthly Weather Review stated that storms and temperature changes were common, but bird falls were most assuredly not.
This (above) is a fascinating article, by the way.

Not as daft as it sounds. Some birds when frightened switch off...dead. My Farther in law once related a story of his Avery. He bread canaries. All his birds were out in the netted fly area from the nests. Next doors cat jumped from the garden wall onto the roof of the wire netted area. Just about a 3rd of the canaries dropped dead. Fright or switched off...deaded mate.

So perhaps a large hawk caught some of the birds in the article by surprised and triggered the switch off.

I also have an aviary and rescue injured and neglected birds. On numerous occasions I have experienced birds just up and dying, like you said, just "switching off".
Many of the birds will be perfectly healthy, with the exception of a broken wing or similar injury that impairs the ability to fly. They just seemed unhappy to be in captivity, and would usually die quite suddenly and quietly, with no sign of pain or suffering, sometimes still perched on a branch or sitting on the floor. It almost seems as though they have the ability to withdraw themselves from their bodies without death causing trauma.

I heard something the other day about a certain mosquito that was killing birds in large quantities because of a virus they were carrying.

This may be completely off, but when I was about 5 I was standing on my front porch looking across the street at a bunch of birds sitting on a telephone wire and suddenly, one by one, then all fell from the wire straight to the ground, like synchronized swimmers.

It was bizarre and I've never heard of anything like it until this thread. How weird.

My initial feeling is maybe they suddenly fell because of something related to the bermuda triangle. Maybe it was something to do with a particuar energy or 'wave' that was in that part of the world at that particualr moment.

    Just a thought

Apparently because of some earth quakes around the world the axis has shifted slightly that could put the magnetic north out of wack. Add to that the towers from everything to do with mobile phones, cable, Haarp, microwaves etc, etc no wonder the poor little things have lost their sense of direction.

    All down to us.

A few years ago there were birds falling from the sky near a town in Turkey, bordering Iran. They blamed it on the fake Bird Flu disease:
    http://www.birdflumonitor.com/thousa...y-archive.html
What they didn't report was that just across the border in Iran, there was a city that had issued severe air pollution warnings and had evacuated parts of the city. Seems more likely that those birds had been poisoned by the pollution.
