This reinforces my opinion of Obama which has always been that he is a well meaning guy, who's hands are more or less tied due to the fact that the president is not the one who calls all the shots. He's in a little bit over his head, doing the best he can do with what hes got. The result is not the massive transformation he campaigned on, but as he said in the video, people like to focus on the negative, and this is why we get so many "Obama is a reptilian illuminati robot whos going to eat your soul" type Alex Jones-esque websites. Many of which are probably paid bloggers.

I know I'll probably get flamed for this, but thats my opinoin

Seems a bit staged and the timing certainly falls into a good pre-election 'buttering' window, however I don't necessarily disagree with you Josh. He's very likable. I pray for him and others. If he's a bad apple, my love will only serve to turn him around. If his intentions are pure, my love will bolster his efforts. Either way, it's a win. I do my best to withhold judgment otherwise. No one knows Obama except for Obama himself.

Also, I think Obama is a decent bloke - if something happens while he's away I will certainly wonder "did they plan the timing of this to discredit him?" I don't resonate with the whole Alex Jones thing (consider this my disclaimer haha).

That being said, any thoughts on this article? Credibility etc.? With the webbot timline pushed back to tomorrow from the previous Nov. 8, it just seems too "coincident..."

I recall there being a meeting with the Indian PM at the white house where Obama said some things that were interpreted as "pro-disclosure." No link I'm afraid, but it was around the time that the couple who werent on the list got into the white house dinner (may have been the same event actually) as I recall - and that story took centre stage.

Maybe he's goign to India to do a disclosure? This is complete speculation by the way, but just thought I'd throw it out there.

Hi Josh - in what way do you consider Obama to be 'decent' keeping in mind that he's pretty much done the opposite of what he's promised to do.

That he's allowed himself to be used as a puppet forwarding a 'nwo' agenda.

That he's spending the money of a bankrupt country like it's going out of fashion (which I guess it is)

And that he pretended to swim, with his child, in a poisoned gulf and deceive the public as to its safety.

I have no particular feelings toward the President, but I am curious as to what it is you perceive as being decent.

I think the guy had good intentions when he got into office, and I still think he does - but I believe the system itself is so corrupt that even the so called "top" guy has very little power to elicit change. He did strike down the bill to allow banks to reposess houses they couldn't prove they held mortgages to, he has tried to implement some form of universal health care, albeit fairly scaled down, it certainly did help some people (I realize this is a contentious topic, but living in a country that has it, I would hate to have anything less).

What I'm trying to get at here, is he's not the most evil person in the world - I'm not claiming he's a saint either but I think the energy that the conspiracy movement is pouring into discrediting the guy is a bit of a waste - as you said, he's just a puppet - people would be better to focus on trying to expose the real men behind the curtain. Wasting energy on smearing Obama is just playing into their hands. Think of the alternative: McCain/Palin?

Would that be "better?" I can't see how it would. Is he worse than Bush/Cheney? I would certainly disagree with anyone who says he is. When I use the word decent, I am comparing him to the alternatives.

No decent bloke is "elected" to office. Decent blokes can't make it on the ballot. This is of course a generalization.

The health care bill only makes is mandatory for everyone to buy health insurance. If you don't the government fines you $2400 a year (from my recollection). It doesn't "provide" health care for any class of people.

It also has a lot of provisions for regulating insurance providers to ensure that they aren't just leaving people high-and-dry when they get sick after paying into plans for years on end - which was common practise before hand.

My understanding was it provided insurance to anyone who couldn't afford it (i.e. below a certain income bracket), but I could be mistaken - I didn't follow it too closely since it doesn't affect me directly.

Anyhow, arguments aside, it should be an interesting week or so.
