    Default Brazilian Disclosure

    Hey folks,

I´m posting a message I just received from GUB´s (Brazilian Ufology Group) facebook page.

Brazil is again pioneering in the UFO research field; It´s worth remembering that the first UFO related magazine in the whole world is Brazilian, the UFO magazine.

Pardon me for grammar mistakes, I have used google translator to translate most of it:

Quote SUMMARY OF THE MEETING OF THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE ufologists

Dear friends of the Brazilian Ufology

I just arrived at home, from Brasilia, and don´t even know where to begin to describe what happened yesterday at the Ministry of Defense, in the Federal Capital, Brasilia, which had an unprecedented gathering in the history of the country and the world between armed forces, government officials and ufologists.

IT WAS SIMPLY UNFORGETTABLE , SOMETHING VERY ENCOURAGING FOR US!

Since I arrived in Curitiba, at around 13.00, so far, I gave numerous interviews to newspapers and various media vehicles. On the way from the airport to the house, I had to stop the car 4 times to talk to the press without running the risk of letting my emotions take me under a truck. Only the Agency Brazil, which serves 2,000 vehicles and has 20 million readers reach, gave a 40-minute interview and she is spreading the word throughout the country. The National Journal also just called.

Myself and friends of the Brazilian Committee of UFO researchers (CBU), we were at the Defense Ministry yesterday, we wanted to post yesterday about the meeting here in the lists of UFO Magazine and Facebook. But honestly, we did not. The emotion was so huge and irrepressible we just went to celebrate big time, where we could make a more comprehensive assessment of the success of the meeting.

SOMETHING LIKE WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY DOES NOT OCCUR EVERY DAY!

We all left the Ministry of Defence after 1:15 a.m. after meeting with the secretary himself Minister Celso Amorim and other authorities of MD, with joy and optimism. We unanimously consider that the outcome of this historic meeting far exceeded our expectations; Mine, at least, have been largely overcome.

In yesterday´s historic meeting we saw an unprecedented situation in the world, in which the Ministry of Defence of a country calls and sits at the table with ufologists to discuss (a) the UFO phenomenon itself, (b) the opening of sensitive classified information on the subject, in possession of the Armed Forces, and (c) how to comply with our request to create an official UFO research group. All in one fell swoop.

IT NEVER HAPPENED ANYWHERE IN THE PLANET. BUT HAPPENED YESTERDAY IN BRAZIL!

Along with members of the CBU and the authorities of the Ministry were about 10 soldiers of the three Armed Forces, Army, Navy and Air Force, and, from these, four manifested by order of the Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Ari Matos Cardoso. Of all speeches, we were not impressed by the the representative of the Navy and was something auspicious to see the frankness of the representative of the Air Force, who admitted that he is still awaiting the release of secret documents.

Still, with many good points made, we left the meeting extremely happy and hope that Dr. Ari will fulfill his promise, which is to establish a direct communication channel between the Brazilian Committee of UFO researchers (CBU) and the Ministry of Defense, so that we have easy, non-bureaucratic and efficient access to all information that we request regarding the UFO phenomena.

THAT MEANS TO ACCESS INFORMATION REGARDING UFOs WITHIN ALL ARMED FORCES CLASSIFIED RECORDS.

"I want to assure you here today that we are taking this agenda seriously, that we deeply respect the work you do and we will do everything in our power to achieve this communication channel and help you to achieve your goals," said Dr. Ari Matos Cardoso, whose act was accompanied by the director of the Department of Organization and Legislation MD, Adriano Portella.

See for yourselves, on the Ministry of Defence website (Portuguese):

    https://www.defesa.gov.br/index.php/...os-sobre-ovnis

Shortly before that statement, it was highly motivating for all of us at CBU, even for friends who could not attend, that Dr. Ari had mentioned that everyone in the Defense Ministry was surprised by the interest of society on the UFO subject represented by a huge number of requests for information with the recent case of the Information Access Law (LAI).

I know now that, Agency Brazil, that the number of requests for information about flying saucers to the Ministry, with the use of the said Act, was far superior to any other topic. The numbers are striking: First, of all, data requirements about UFO strikes 107 hits.

THEREFORE, UFOLOGY REMAINS A TOPIC THAT SOCIETY IS GREATLY INTERESTED.

As I had written in a statement earlier, the Ministry of Defense, showing a vanguard and a transparency never seen before, called upon the members of the Brazilian ufologists (CBU) in response to our letter of Foz do Iguaçu, the document that we prepared and issued during the IV World Forum of Ufology, last December.

The Charter of Foz do Iguaçu asks in its final parts, something of extreme importance for Brazilian Ufology: "The creation of a multidisciplinary committee mixed with the participation of military personnel of the three armed forces and members of the Brazilian Ufology Community, so , with the collaboration of military logistics, civil ufologists and scientists we can proceed jointly to study the records of the manifestation of the UFO phenomenon, with subsequent information of society, through regular and appropriate information tools. "

Check the Charter of Foz do Iguaçu here (Portuguese): http://www.ufo.com.br/public/carta_f...u_original.pdf

This was especially what the Ministry of Defence during the meeting dealt with us, and our requests for disclosure. When we treat this issue with the members present, which occurred several times, we had the distinct impression that our authorities are really taking seriously the possibility, which, I confess, surprised me pleasantly.

Yes, I think in the future, and perhaps at a time not so far away, we meet our request and see it implemented to create an UFO research official entity as proposed by the Charter of Foz do Iguaçu, similar to what exists today in operation in Uruguay and Chile, for example. A body that engages with the participation of the three military forces, armed to the study of UFO manifestation in our country.

Anyway, this is a summary of the important step in Brazilian Ufology, a historical moment that resulted from the fight of serious, hardworking and consistent members of the Brazilian Committee of UFO researchers (CBU), by UFO Magazine, since 2004. Despite several scenes of pessimism, we did not give up our fight and hit, one by one, the greatest successes that the Brazilian Ufology has seen in its entire history. This is more a direct result of the campaign UFOs: Freedom of Information Now, that have created.

SO MUCH HAPPENED FOR BRAZILIAN UFOLOGY IN RECENT YEARS, THANKS TO UFO MAGAZINE AND CBU.

Finally, I would like to relate the members of the Brazilian ufologists (CBU) that were present at this important meeting: Gener Silva, Thiago Ticchetti, Fernando Ramalho, Marco Petit, Francisco Campos and me. Professor Wilson Picler and engineer Ricardo Varela, who also would be there, unfortunately could not attend.

    Cheers, Gevaerd
So, Brazil is now an inch close from creating a civilian/military joint agency dedicated to investigate UFOs. Of course, we´re now closer than ever to finally have access to ALL classified UFO archives, with no restriction whatsoever.

    This is really good news.

    Cheers,

    Raf.

    That's pretty official!
I wonder if Brazil was the nation which Steven Greer said was going to trump the US gov in disclosing first, if the US kept on procrastinating.
Now we have 3 major events, this one, the Sirius documentary opening and the Citizen Hearing on Disclosure in D.C.
    Each breath a gift...

That's awesome, and a pretty historic achievement. Wish we saw such openness here.

As far as Brazilian ufology goes, for me first and foremost on the disclosure agenda would be a comprehensive account of the Varginha incident in 96.

Man...That incident was really out of this world.

I have several friends who live there, since I live in the same state. They have told me that there were dozens of military trucks around and hundreds of soldiers just to isolate the block where the ET was found by the local girls.

There were reports that some gringos wearing black suits, CIA I guess, were questioning people the day after the incident.

My guess is that they took the ET, alive, to some military base; Probably in the USA.

    Cheers,

    Raf.

According to the report below, the files to be opened in June this year (2013).

The Access to Information Act provides that all agencies review their secret documents to verify the possibility of opening them up to June 2014. "The defense will anticipate and secret documents open in June this year," said Spengler.
According to the colonel, the Army said it has no documents regarding the event known as "Varginha ET" in 1996 in Minas Gerais, because they were misplaced or destroyed, as provided by law.

    Really??

Interesting... the Varginha incident was considered Brazil's "Roswell" and indeed significant

It really is the main recent case (more or less recent).
So, lost or destroyed documents of the case.
The crap that will provide not need to destroy?
Only what really matters was destroyed or lost?
Maybe also talk that the responsible was the big bad wolf.
