Neuroscientist claims head transplants now a realistic procedure

We can grow ears in the lab, restore hearing and sight in many cases, and fully working robotic prosthetic hands are now a reality. So it seems like was only a matter of time before we conquered the most outlandish of all medical feats ever imagined: a full human head transplant.

In a paper published in the June issue of Surgical Neurology International, researchers describe a method of actually transplanting a human head through advanced neurosurgery. Creepily code-named HEAVEN/GEMINI (Head Anastomosis Venture with Cord Fusion) the process is outlined by Dr. Sergio Canavero of Italy's Turin Advanced Neuromodulation Group.

According to the paper, the one hurdle preventing successful attempts before was the inability to attach a head's spine to a donor body.

However, Canavero's writes, "It is my contention that the technology only now exists for such linkage. This paper sketches out a possible human scenario and outlines the technology to reconnect the severed cord…"



The paper, which describes experiments carried out in the '70s on animals that had limited success, states that success would now be achievable through the use of special membrane-fusion substances called fusogens. According to Canavero, the body donor would need to be "a brain dead patient, matched for height and build."

Canavero's paper makes for fascinating reading, especially when it delves into ethical and genetic topics. Canavero writes, "The HEAVEN created 'chimera' would carry the mind of the recipient but, should he or she reproduce, the offspring would carry the genetic inheritance of the donor." And while some might cringe at such a scenario, Canavero himself admits, "I have not addressed the ethical aspects of HEAVEN."

We've become accustomed to science fiction predicting our future in the way of gadgets, but it now looks like Mary Shelley's Frankenstein may have been just as much of an early look into future of medical science as fictional tricorders were a precursor to iPhones. Canavero claims that HEAVEN could "bear fruit" within a couple of years.

Across the nation yesterday and likely all throughout this weekend, local law enforcement will be putting up DUI checkpoints. The idea behind these checkpoints is that they help to get drunk drivers off of the roads. Unfortunately, time and again we see that these checkpoints do very little in that regard while managing to trample over the constitutional rights of sober drivers.

Today, I was alerted by a viewer to this video as he asked for help sharing it. It was taken not even 24 hours ago by a young man in Rutherford County, TN by the name of Chris Kalbaugh. Chris was stopped at one of these checkpoints last night and as you will see in the video he complied with the law. The whole time Chris was recording his encounter with police. Over and over his constitutional check-pointrights were violated and once again he was told the same thing so many of us have heard over and over: that we must sacrifice our liberty for safety. In Chris’ case, none of the conduct by police in this video made him or anyone else on the roadways in Rutherford County any safer.

Psychic Awareness & Shamanic Power

George Noory was joined by shamanism expert Gwilda Wiyaka, who talked about how galactic energy is impacting psychic awareness and abilities. According to Wiyaka, there are four major factors that enhance psychic or shamanic ability: genetic predisposition, a traumatic childhood event, near death experience and head injury or some other initiatory illness. Any one of these can shatter a person's programming into the system, the common reality humans share, and open them to other ways of being in the world, she said. The current system, identified by Wiyaka as the Fourth World, supports exploitation, parasitic existence and a dog-eat-dog mentality.

Historically, psychic ability has been more prevalent at some times than others, she continued. In the present period, the Sun is emanating an increased frequency into space which is affecting the Earth, Wiyaka reported, noting the observation by a Russian scientist of a surge in plasma in the leading edge of the Sun's magnetic field. Earth's magnetic field is interacting with the Sun's shifting magnetic field and causing the planet's frequency to shift, she revealed. Wiyaka explained how our toroidal fields are also interacting with these shifts yet many are not shifting to a higher psychic awareness because they have lost contact with Earth. "The shifting of the frequency on the Earth is resulting from the plasma formation making more expansive reality available, but our programming is working against that and trying to hold the old frequency," she said.

Wiyaka identified shamanism as an ancient practice dating back over 50,000 years that is at the root of all cultures. A shaman practitioner's power comes from the planet and cooperates with the laws of nature, she remarked. In order for one to remain in the shamanic realm and avoid sorcery Wiyaka offered several guidelines, including never taking energy from where it belongs, never putting energy where it does not belong, never working without permission and always doing no harm. To have true shamanic power one has to process out the places that have been impinged by Fourth World programming, she instructed. Wiyaka also shared her most empowering method called the Shamanic Journey Trance, which she said allows her alpha brain waves to drop to 7.8 Hz, the frequency of the surface of Earth.

I didn't listen to that but will do so immediately, WhiteFeather. Thanks for pointing this out! I am not particularly sensitive (physically or psychically (spelling?) but the past week or so I have been dizzy, nauseous, and having visual blurring or difficulty focusing... I'm in good general health - not to worry there. I have periods of feeling like the molecules/cells in my body are "energized" or in a hyperactive state.
Maybe these things are connected, maybe not ... I will definitely pay more attention.
