Federal Judge: Catholic Church Has A Constitutional Right Not To Compensate Victims Of Sex Abuse

A federal judge in Wisconsin handed down an opinion yesterday granting the Catholic Church — and indeed, potentially all religious institutions — such sweeping immunity from federal bankruptcy law that it is not clear that it would permit any plaintiff to successfully sue any church in any court. While the ostensible issue in this case is whether over $50 million in church funds are shielded from a bankruptcy proceeding triggered largely by a flood of clerical sex abuse claims against the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, Judge Rudolph Randa reads the church’s constitutional and legal right to religious liberty so broadly as to render religious institutions immune from much of the law...

I stopped this viedo at 1:20 on hearing that during the Spanish Inquisition there were 68 million executions. This compares with a present population of 46 million, and World War II deaths on all sides of about 50 million.

    Wikipedia:
Quote The generally accepted number burnt at the stake by the Inquisition (including all categories such as Protestants, blasphemers, bigamists and crypto-Jews) is below 5,000.
Four orders of magnitude - for whatever reason - is a little too sloppy for me. Sorry

Question Re: At the Vatican, Up Against the World

Yes thank you for pointing that out... But i believe that was a mis - spoke ....

So ruling out this info on that error is misleading and short sighted on your part ...

The information contained on the Jesuit order (for the most) part is quite accurate ...

And that's something i truly know about 'araucaria'

Post note: Note ~ statistics can only be acquired by time consuming research into the available handwritten records in each locality. There is no central resource for such information and few records have been studied. Handwritten records were not produced in every locality for every occurrence. Many records have been lost or destroyed and they were written by the aggressors. Available accounts from the the records that have been studied may reflect the bias of the researcher. Those factors make accurate statistics questionable overall and available on a chronologically and regionally limited basis ...

Saying that ~ what i have come to know and understand of the extensive social (human) destructiveness of the Universal Catholic Church ... Perhaps 68 millions is even a low ball number of lives lost...

Giovonni, I may try again if I can find time, although I don't accept I am being short-sighted. I fail to see how one can entirely innocently say million instead of hundred. It does no one any good making outrageous overstatements even of the Spanish Inquisition.

Researcher bias is offset by going into great detail, doing actual headcounts etc. I have read the book by a leading expert, Henry Kamen, who does precisely that and concludes that the toll of the Spanish Inquisition is actually fairly small - which is not to downplay the nefarious effect it had overall.

No raw nerves at all, you're way off target, Giovonni

Although I am allergic to priests and especially confessors

I'm not defending anyone, especially Jesuits. If you think I might be "one of them", I can only repeat, you're way off target, Giovonni However, "at this point in time", I think we have got beyond attacking institutions and should just let them fall away from neglect. We are too busy building our own thing.

in terms of lives lost, the Spanish Inquisition is peanuts compared with the First Crusade against the Cathars, that's all.

Question Re: At the Vatican, Up Against the World

    will share this here ...

Red Ice Radio - Adrian Salbuchi - Hour 1 -

Argentine Corruption & World Government in South America ...

"Adrian Salbuchi is known for speaking and writing about geopolitics, international relations, political power structures and financial globalization. His latest book is "The Coming World Government." Adrian regularly writes articles and shows up RT. He is the founder of the Argentine Second Republic Project and he is an international business consultant. He is with us today to give us an update on how the development of world government is marching forward in South America. We begin to discuss the newly selected Argentine Jesuit pope and what his strategy for cleaning up the tarnished reputation of the Vatican will be. We move on to talk about Cristina Kirchner and the Kirshner "dynasty," who have been ruling the massively corruption Argentina for over 10 years. Adrian explains many of the financial scandals that have been unfolding in Argentina, without any coverage by the nation's media. Salbuchi further describes how the country's resources being are being sold out to mega corporations and that it's all run by the super national globalists and their banks. In the second hour Adrian explains why he is suspicious of the Arab spring and other demonstrations and rallies around the world. He explains that as long as people are fighting amongst themselves they will never be able to see the real enemy. We further discuss what is going on in Venezuela after Hugo Chavez death and the situation in Brazil. Adrian says that the economy is being intentionally dismantled around the world and the reformation offered to fix it will get us further dependent on a debt based centralized governmental banking system. He gives us a few pointers on how to remain autonomous under these conditions."

Snip: "God told me to" when asked what had pushed him to retire to a secluded residence in the Vatican gardens.

Benedict denied he had been visited by an apparition or had heard God's voice, but said he had undergone a "mystical experience" during which God had inspired in him an "absolute desire" to dedicate his life to prayer rather than push on as pope.

So what exactly is a "Mystical Experience" So was it God or Not? or was it something else?

Red Ice Radio - Graham Hancock - Hour 1 - War God & Spanish Conquest of the Aztec Empire

"Graham Hancock is the author of the international bestsellers "The Sign and The Seal," "Fingerprints of the Gods," and "Heaven's Mirror." His books have sold more than five million copies worldwide and have been translated into 27 languages. Graham has become recognized as an unconventional thinker who raises controversial questions about humanity's past and where we are heading. In this program we discuss Graham's latest historical novel "War God" about the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire. He explains that this was a war of both gods and men. Dark powers worked behind the scenes of history as the prophecy of the return of Quetzalcoatl finally was fulfilled with the arrival of Cortes in the new world. The Aztec ruler Moctezuma fought to maintain the demands of the war god Huitzilopochtli (hummingbird) for human sacrifice. Graham says that same manipulative demon might have been behind the communication that Cortes and Moctezuma's had with their "god." In the second hour we talk about angels, demons and Graham's own experiences with hallucinogenic plants. There are dark forces in the spirit realm waiting to take advantage of humans not equipped for these sorts of quests. Later he talks about the war on consciousness and explains that only free individuals, living on a voluntary basis, that have the freedom to explore their own consciousness, is the only way out of our current predicament."

    Now that's Amore ...

Giant pope face ploughed into field

"Italian artist, Dario Gambarin, uses a tractor to create the 328 foot picture, entitled Love Liberates, in a field in Castagnaro near the northern Italian city of Verona.

The portrait took six hours to complete and is the latest piece of land-art by the artist who says he uses his plough as a painter would a brush, on farmland belonging to his parents.

Over the past few years Mr Gambarin has produced a giant image of Edvard Munch's iconic The Scream and a portrait of US President Barack Obama, 'drawn' to coincide with his visit to Italy in July 2009 for the G8 summit.

Thanks to a highly developed technique Mr Gambarin does not measure the field before starting his work, but is seemingly able to create perfectly-dimensioned giant images with just an innate sense of proportion and ability to drive a tractor.

The sheer scale of his pictures mean they can only be viewed by flying over the countryside of the province of Verona.

Mr Gambarin deletes his works after a few days so that the field can be cultivated as usual, so the works are always executed between the harvest of the crop and the sowing of seed for the next one.

Explaining why he chose to portray Pope Francis, Mr Gambarin said he was struck by Francis' announcement that he would lead a worldwide day of fasting and prayer for peace in Syria September 7, and wanted to contribute something to the pontiff's appeal.

Francis invited Catholics, other Christians, those of other faiths and non-believers who are "men of good will" to join him that evening in St. Peter's Square to invoke the "gift" of peace for Syria, the rest of the Middle East and worldwide where there is conflict."
