There was a frost "scare" for tonight (probably not in my area, but I didn't want to take chances), so gardening chores have swallowed my time the late afternoon (until 8.) Sweet Basil is actually a tropical plant, and turns brown/black then goes to mush at around 40°F, and so I had to pick all of it. All the green and all the purple basil. And for the next couple of hours, process it into some fresh (refrigerated) some chopped bagged, vacuumed, and frozen, and some dehydrated.

So, I got here and glanced through and see that Fred, Spiral and lookbeyond have left Avalon, Jacko is backo, and Astrid and Paula are not really AWOL they are enjoying an inter-dimensional respite. (I see Fred listed as retired. Is Viral Spiral gone? I don't see the indication. lookbeyond doesn't show up in the members list at all...) I'll miss Fred because he and I disagreed strongly on some things - but respectfully. I think it is lovely to have friends who resonate with a lot of things, but good to have some friends that provide sort of a mental sparring partner.

Gulping down a mug of chaga tea - the first chaga I collected myself. That should provide a nice blast to my immune system.

Had a "relapse" with my back. I hate to say it, but damn, it's true. I went to Kundalini Yoga on Tuesday and thought I was staying just inside the line of "too much too soon", but I obviously crossed the line. Kundalini energy is created/stored in the pelvic area, so there is a lot of movement and postures focused on the lower back. More sessions with the TENS unit, and even tried to make an appointment with a chiropractor today (but he's out 'til Monday) - because I feel pain going down my legs and know that's a nerve getting pinched. Not whining, just declaring my here and now. My there and then will be different.

Will have to catch up further tomorrow - it's back to the bushel of basil for me.

The TOT forum is back on the road and one of the first threads is a revived Here and Now thread. They must have had one before, so that a double compliment to Ulli for her great idea. Let’s wish them well with that endeavor.

On the subject of high-speed tortoises, I can confirm that they go really really fast. My daughter had an exotic one for three years until it finally bolted last month. I was against her having one but her boyfriend bought her it anyway. They hate captivity and are designed neither for our wet climate nor the irregular warm and cold spells of our winters. A free-range tortoise is not going to get its six-months in the fridge. Hence the newfound freedom is not going to last, alas. This tortoise happens to be a manifestation in the physical of a complex thought I was writing down relating to an I Ching reading I had done. Funny how it is often animals that work this way. Another time I was writing about sea urchins when five of them showed up at my door (a one-off: a neighbor had been out shrimping during a spring tide). Fascinating creatures.

Regarding your son’s picture Ulli: I had no overnight thoughts but something came to me last night, something my stepmother used to say to us brothers complaining about their sister without using her name. This is appropriate to our context, but I doubt if it’s what you heard. She would say: “Who’s ‘she’? The cat’s mother?!”

Lost a day somewhere along the line this week, probably around Tuesday. Just discovered it's Friday, put the wrong bin out. Also I just discovered some of my e-mails have not been getting through to my Outlook page. I am now back to the service provider's clumsy web page. I'm wondering just what I've been missing over an extended period. After being off sick for a good while, I must be experiencing the ultimate 'gap year'

Mornin, village. You know I am sensitive to things I cannot identify. I guess energy, for one. And last night, this is what that felt like. I felt plugged into an outlet, but my eyes were burning and my mind was trying to sleep. That is not a good recipe for rest, haha. I felt wired. It took me forever to get to sleep. And, oh, that mother hen in me. Sheesh. Today is an early pep rally, the whole town converges on the Dairy Queen for the homecoming game. Eye roll. Must schedule an early nap...

Have been pondering the similarities and differences again, mostly in methods and systems of "getting there"...wondering if we could even possibility be going to the same "there" considering how different we all are. All this before coffee? Eesh.

Yes I'm sure the Good nights and the Sweet dreams first thing are doing siomething to my morning coffee. You lot are 6+ hrs behind me, and Jim is about 12 hrs which side? I get jetlag just crossing the English Channel (1 hr back), never mind summer/winter time changes.

When Im like that I just say, let go and let God. It helps me relax, knowing that the world won't collapse while I give my body some rest. Knowing that there is a God to take care of everything doesn't stop me from striving, but only up to a point. Then I drop everything, and a lot of stuff I used to fret over resolved itself without my input. No idea how it happened.

Then, jiminii posted a response to something Freed Fox said. Then, Rakhyt posted his poetic prose. And at the beginning of Rakhyt's post, he said to jim to remember the Village is a place of peace. I refreshed the page, and noticed that what Rakhyt said to jiminii wasn't there any more, and instead there is a note that his (Rakhyt's) post was edited for unnecessary content. And jiminii's post has disappeared. Rakhyt's post is number 33729. There is no blank post between, there is no edited post between, there is nothing between.

I know what I saw. This is just...weird.

Yes 1inMany, it was rather strange this morning. As I said I got lost a few times. I have small 10 post pages and usually scroll up before scrolling down, I did so a couple of times and kept discovering new stuff.

Another thing: of late, instead of going back a page, I've been going back a year up the thread Can't aim a mouse click or what?

Still another thing: I remember Paul saying he could fiddle with post numbers. If it's not him, it could be a hacker with mod powers?? Or maybe not.

I noticed that Jim's reply to Freed Fox was moved to one of his own threads. Nothing to do with me, but maybe a moderator or even Bill himself decided to keep the Here and Now thread free from disputes. they can delete without leaving a trace. It is fine with me.
While I understand that not all posts here are reports about what happens in a persons life at a given moment, and I also don't mind it when there is interaction, in fact, I want to use the power of the moment so people can interact in an energetic way. This helps to create lasting bonds.
But we do not want disputes, neither myself, nor the mods.
So there are several of us who are protective of this place, like a bar, when they say 'shall we settle this outside', where the furniture doesn't get broken.
