When I first arrived in Britain I had a hard time with colloquial English, and it took me years to learn the more subtle layers of the language, a process that is still ongoing.
On an English language forum like this, one which has many foreigners as well, this issue of language can pose a real challenge to all sides.
My suggestion here is that neither side worry too much...that the foreigners please understand that it is a matter that takes time....
But also that those of us who want to quote someone like Russell Brand don't hold back either.

Because this man, Russell Brand, is brilliant and everything that comes out of his mouth is authentic, and extremely valuable in this age of corporate and media controlled communication.

Here is a snippet. Some of us know about his "insults" ...when he reminded people that Hugo Boss was originally the company which made Nazi uniforms, but changed their name....

I could see the room dividing as I spoke. I could hear the laughter of some and louder still silence of others. I realised that for some people this was regarded as an event with import. The magazine, the sponsors and some of those in attendance saw it as a kind of ceremony that warranted respect. In effect, it is a corporate ritual, an alliance between a media organisation, GQ, and a commercial entity, Hugo Boss. What dawned on me as the night went on is that even in apparently frivolous conditions the establishment asserts control, and won't tolerate having that assertion challenged, even flippantly, by that most beautifully adept tool: comedy.

The jokes about Hugo Boss were not intended to herald a campaign to destroy them. They're not Monsanto or Halliburton, the contemporary corporate allies of modern-day fascism; they are, I thought, an irrelevant menswear supplier with a double-dodgy history. The evening, though, provided an interesting opportunity to see how power structures preserve their agenda, even in a chintzy microcosm

And here is the thread that brought it all to our attention:

Russel said he did not enjoy the GQ party celebrations.

Can we invite him to the next village party. I am sure he would have enjoyed this one.

Good Morning Village/Good Evening Village Welcome, Lidia. So wonderful to see you, another new member. How lovely.

Here and now, I sit outside with some coffee. Thank you button sufficiently charged. Em is still asleep, having been a "normal" teenager and probably stayed up half the night. I am wondering if she is a dragon right now, she does that occasionally. Soaring to new heights, I imagine. Mike's son got married Saturday, so I now have a bonus-daughter-in-law. That's so cool. They are so in love, it is delightful. And with the wedding coming up next month, the two older ones will be taken care of, to a mom's point of view. Judging by how the relationship is progressing with Bubba and K, I imagine next summer I might be able to say the older three are taken care of Little One adores having a playmate somewhat like himself. And a father figure who hugs him sincerely rather than bullies and hurts him. I am thankful the Universe provides so efficiently, so many sweet souls taken care of with one wave of the brush. The only issue thus far is that Bubba's mom seems to be attached to her religion. I now see one of the reasons Little One stayed with me a while back, to make certain a connection and an unbreakable bond were set. Not a bond with me, as that was already established. But a bond with the Greater.

It is beautiful outside, the hummingbirds are the ones singing this morning. They squeek, sort of. And then they purr as they fly by close enough to touch. I think they are happy I filled the feeder. It is funny the way they fly to me and hover when the feeder is empty. Sweet little creatures, they are.

For the past weeks my multi-dimensional-being-ness has made itself known. There are many jobs I am doing simultaneously. I am surprised at the way I can "get 'er done." All of these things going on at once, yet I can bulldoze through them. I know, I know, I hear my friend's voice in my head, "You were doing them all along." But they are in my consciousness now.

That leads to my here and now, you see. Here and now, I am focusing on my mantra, "It's Okay." Because once upon a time I could have been very distracted by all this, I have to allow it all to happen and still live this life. I must allow and Trust, or I might not be able to function. There are children to raise, a yard to mow (ugh), dishes to wash, a filthy floor to handle, and focus to juggle. I can do this. I can.

I know I can. One thing at a time.

    Much Love,

On the bright side, in honor of your threads birthday Hehe... I happen to find myself on the first page of the thread...made me chuckle as everyone was reporting there here and now literally, letting everyone know wht time it was and what they were doing and feeling...

When emotional conflict hits me I ask myself which of two types is it...
the kind where one is forced to make a choice,
or the kind that can be sorted out by rising to a higher perspective,
It is only a matter of increasing one's own tolerance levels.
    This is the hardest part.

Once that decision is made I find that the rest is easy,
and this is possibly my secret formula for my inner growth.

I hope you can resolve your conflict.

About the other comment...you were on this thread on page 1? I don't see you there...
did you change your name more than once?

Ulli and everyone, what a wonderful party. I enjoyed Being There Now. Sorry I missed the food and dancing and the bonfire, though. I seem to be in my own time zone most of the time, living by the sun and the seasons, so I miss a lot of stuff. My good wishes are with you all.

Happy Birthday to the Village. 1699 pages -- amazing!!

So last night I get on the computer and check into Avalon. At some point I notice that somebody has hacked Bill's hat! I'm laughing out loud to myself, I really don't know what's going on. I thought, if it was a hack, that was a great hack! Or, OMG, did he finally eat his hat and I didn't hear about it? It was wonderfully hilarious!

So I send Bill an email and ask about it. He sends me here - thank you, Bill.

Love, music, joy, dancing, the Earth's wonderful food... to everyone...

    Still laughing

    G'day

Just got done with a stretching routine. Something that I've been neglecting for many years. I remember when I was very young, my physical therapist would always make sure to keep me breathing, to never hold my breath while doing a stretch. I found it irritating at the time, but now it makes much more sense. Letting go of the habitual flinching and clenching.

This is partly a process of coming back into my body. One of my excuses has been that there's not enough time... well, there's plenty of time, and I'll have more time as I ease up on frittering it away. Given my attention, maybe I will be able to walk for a good while yet. Or maybe it's too late and I'll end up in a wheelchair long before it had to happen. Maybe my hands will close up and I won't be able to use them anymore. Not now, but maybe five years from now instead of twenty-five. In any case I need to 'walk' through any deep-rooted fears... to be OK with the possibility of anything, even if most of those cases never happen. It's the chronic fear of possibilities which derails.

My health is my responsibility. At the same time, being kind to myself.

A beautiful, sunny day today... still watching the seasons change. A good exercise, so you'll have to bear with me for some time yet. I notice the yellow-green hues of summer taking on a sharper, deeper gold as the air dries out and the sun retreats further to the horizon, bending light in new ways. It's all in the light.

More to say, more to explore... work to do. I'll be back later.

Well, astrid, your video got my tears flowing. And I guess as opened up as it got me, I am full of compassion.

And then Gekko, you share your here and now. I am with you, gekko.

I am reminded, sharing your here and now, of a gentleman and his ailing wife. They have since moved on from the village, but their inspiration remains with me. From my perspective, this woman had one helluva time of it, frequenting doctors and such. And I recall her sharing how she felt about this. She said that maybe she was bringing light to the people around her, and her light was needed by the doctors, or the nurses, or those other patients there at the same time. What I remember was that she had found a peace with being ill, and found a purpose in it.

I'm not saying that is what you should do, just sharing. It is always possible to experience physical healing, and it is possible that one day you will be mobile only with the help of a wheel chair. Each of us has afflictions of one type or another. I would offer this for you to ponder. That the origin of fear is the past, the origin of worry is the future...but peace...that can be found only in the here and now, the present.

    Much love,
Life is a road we don't travel alone. But everyone's on their own journey home.

We also have a movie room, and someone brought us a movie,

The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension!,
often shortened to Buckaroo Banzai, is a 1984 science fiction film.
It was directed and produced by W. D. Richter, and concerns the efforts of the multi-talented Dr. Buckaroo Banzai, a physicist, neurosurgeon, test pilot, and rock musician, to save the world by defeating a band of inter-dimensional aliens called Red Lectroids from Planet 10. The film is a cross between the action/adventure and sci-fi film genres, and also includes elements of comedy, satire, and romance.
I've seen it, Ulli. Like it.
    ...so Buckaroo is... CARMODY?

Carmody and people from the village.

This Village is bigger than this movie.
It has several Buckaroos, Backarullahs and Backarullis.
Although Carmody has played a major part; just didn't show up for the Oscars.

I have a fine tradition of missing birthdays. Consistency seems to be the deal here. (I was not aware and I was elsewhere)

I tend to not think of birthdays much. I'm of a mind to celebrate my own birthday, by going inside.

I have a fine tradition of missing birthdays. Consistency seems to be the deal here. (I was not aware and I was elsewhere)

I tend to not think of birthdays much. I'm of a mind to celebrate my own birthday, by going inside.
This celebration thingy is new for me, who spent most of my life being the party pooper.
So I don't hold it against you at all, but did miss you being there.

Anyway, I had a great time yesterday, lapping up all the good wishes.
It was a moment of giving and receiving all in one. Very powerful.
    Interesting experience.

Going through some of the worst deep emotions ive had to endure in this lifetime....yup. Will not go into the gory details, but it is like tryin to hold the damn of some enormous batch of emotions that also seem to fluctuate in and out of time/spaces? That's a lot of emotion to filter through...holy rolling hell! I literally felt like I was in the wrong time/space this morning, and was going through the emotions of what i should have felt at the time!! (there are reasons why I could not go through them at the time) Yikes wht a mind bender!!!

Yes Uli I have to make a choice most definitely on the surface of it all...and one wants to make the right choice in order to gain a higher perspective instead of going backwards! So this is important to think about....

TIME SPACE MEMORIES seem to be a most difficult place when one feels "out of place". Its so different what im going through, its not the usual stuff tht ive experienced...theres seems to be more dimensions involved which does not make it a simple process at all.... choices are choices for so long--here in this space.

The gravity and weight of it all can be a monumental task, very taxing...
All I can hope for is time to take me far away from here....so next year IT ALL looks different

And you misunderstood my posts ...I did not mean me personally..finding myself as in an avatar...I meant I ended up on page one of this thread and started reading not realizing I wasnt on the latest page....so went down a few posts and noticed it was years ago..lol <----------interesting I just noticed my searching for posts was "out of time" too Hummmmmmmmmm so ironic aye?

OK, Christine, every thought you express here I can relate to. I don't want to diminish your experience with a 'been there, done that' comment, as I remember quite well how disconcerting all this is. I can only promise you that you won't feel this lost for long. Just accept that we are in a shift, and the kind of person we used to be is no longer an asset to our being.
I'm going through memory loss issues... But also have to admit that at no stage in my life did I process as much info as I am doing now in a given day.
What good would it do to have all of this stuff available, like on a cluttered desk top? Whatever I need, I have to dig for, reminding myself what it is I ally need it for, and then decide that perhaps it is irrelevant. What is really important then jumps out like a Jack in the box.
So a clear agenda must be created by each person....including who is important to us and our agenda. Those we have to leave behind might still join us later...they will catch up on their own.
Finding that priori list...that is what your current task is all about, the way I see it.

Should I worry about stashing food in case of a collapse? Nah, not me.
I'm more worried about making sure that people find their inner passages,
that connect their heads to their hearts.
That discovery is worth more than any other prepping.

You belong there, too. And you already are there, I believe. You are a Wingmaker.
    All is well.

Or maybe it's too late and I'll end up in a wheelchair long before it had to happen.
One thing I neglected to mention is that I've seen many people living full lives from a wheelchair... so it's not an end of the world scenario as I sometimes make it out to be. Actually, some of them have been the most passionate people I've come across... one I met in a coffee shop several years ago, he was going to Tufts University and was so eager to share with me his motivation, tips and tricks for working with professors and living on one's own. I believe he was from a foreign country, to boot.

I guess the trick is not becoming too identified with limitations either way... but appreciating whatever experiences they bring to oneself and others. A balance. We all have important things to contribute, and prolificacy isn't the bottom line.

I might just have to watch that Buckaroo movie now that I saw that picture... looks like fun.
