Thanks for the music, Mikelodium! Two more: deer and boar. Deer has been a long time power animal for me. In dreams, she speaks, though I don’t know what she says. Only the urgency in her voice makes me take notice.
Don’t worry about understanding it. If you discover that animal themes keep popping up everywhere, you may want to consider the books below. When I talked about tools for my power bag, such as inner knowing, 3rd eye seeing...animals are in the bag, as well.
How do I use the books? Never memorize. When an animal appears, I first go with what it means in the moment. How am I feeling? What’s pulling me off center? Do I honor my power or do I give it away? Am I in the flow? Often, it’s the Universe checking in with a ‘thumbs up, Paula’. Then I refer to the book to fill in the blanks or not. The point is, in that moment there’s a gift offered by animal. I thank s/he with gratitude.
These are my resource books. “Animal Speak,” by Ted Andrews. I had to replace my first worn out copy. Lots of detail in paragraph form, but less diversity of animals. Now, I prefer “Animal Spirit Guides,” by: Steven D. Farmer, PhD., because of the format. It makes it a quick read. I’ve got this one in hard copy and eBook.

If DEER is your POWER ANIMAL:
- You maintain a balance of the masculine traits of mastery, authority, and protection with the feminine characteristics of love, nourishment, and surrender.
- You’re highly sensitive and intuitive and are often aware of the feelings of others before they are.
- You can move with intention, awareness, and speed, and can change directions quickly while staying completely centered.
- You’re most comfortable outdoors, particularly in the forest, and must spend time there to recharge and regenerate.

- Time to meet head-on persons or situations that bring one out of center.
- Now opening to personal growth and prosperity.
- Time for peace, do whatever is needed to face and resolve fear.
Call on BOAR when:
- Someone is mean or critical and you want to confront them.
- If you feel lack of confidence and self-esteem
If BOAR is your POWER ANIMAL:
- You tackle anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, in spite of fear.
- You have an uncanny knack for making the most of any situation, using whatever resources available.
- You are determined and persistent in pursuing your goals.
- If you feel trapped or cornered, you can become aggressive and/or belligerent.
