Taking a long term approach, integrating it into media at every opportunity (since they can no longer sweep it under the rug...) They will be 'attacking' all the weakest, most unsubstantial ideas and stuff even real conspiracy theorists wouldn't touch with 10 foot poll... which also means they see it as a real threat...

Although this is done jokingly, it is there to remind us of the Area 51 reality. It is interesting how the media is introducing the idea of aliens in to the mainstream more frequently, albeit in jokes, or in taking UFO sighting seriously that turn out to be identifiable. Are they preparing us for the real thing?
