The heavy rain, as much as 5 to 8 inches, could also lead to life-threatening flash flooding and mudslides. Raymond will also generate large and battering waves and dangerous rip currents along the south-central Mexico coast through mid-week
Raymond's trek over the open warm water of the Eastern Pacific Ocean and
favorable upper-level winds will allow it to intensify while edging closer to the Mexico coast early next week.
By Tuesday, it will likely make its closest approach to landfall, before making a U-turn away from the Mexico coast by mid-week.
