A few inspired written thoughts that I felt compelled to share at this 'moment in time'. Please watch the video below after reading this message -- even if you don't agree. Thank you!

What we experience in life is only relevant if we understand what is going on and why. The evolution of consciousness occurs ONLY if we increase our understanding of Reality.

No teacher and no school can do this part of our 'homework'. Other people can help with explanations, but ultimately everyone has to achieve the understanding individually.

The best is to illustrate this idea with a vivid example...

Imagine taking a monkey to the best university in the world, and letting it experience the best lectures of the best professors in astrophysics. Do you think the monkey would benefit from such an experience?

If you think the idea of a monkey was too extreme -- try applying the above example to anyone, who has never been interested in understanding anything.

It doesn't matter how many books you have read, how many lectures you have heard and what were they. What matters is what you actually understand from them today about the Universe and your particular role in it.

What happens if people do not understand and/or make no effort to understand? At best -- they waste their lifetime. Unfortunately however, the lack of understanding is a primary source of misery and suffering, both individual and collective.

The process of how the lack of understanding causes suffering can be illustrated using an example of numerous celebrated ancient scriptures. Reading them for thousands of years everyday and memorizing them by heart doesn't help, if no one can understand what info they contain, who wrote them, who tweaked them and why.

Without the basic understanding -- the content of any scripture is perverted against humanity and Nature. People continue to hate, abuse, torture and kill others for centuries -- all in the name of God -- simply because they follow mistranslated and perverted text, rather than their own conscience within.

Those with limited understanding promote fear of everything, including the fear of God -- just to keep people confused and misinformed to the greatest extent possible. If you think that these practices belong to the past -- look what happens in the world today. Or visit any place of worship yourself...

Needless to say, the lack of understanding successfully sabotages wise messages from the ancient past. Flocks of people are brainwashed to believe that they can do anything to anyone -- if they think they "love God".

The sad part is that the great majority of people on Earth, have never actually read any scripture by themselves. They have 'chosen to believe' those who interpret and translate scriptures for them. Do you see the difference?

If you discovered that some people have been deliberately deceiving you for many years for they own benefit, would you still believe such people and would you follow their advice? I bet that you wouldn't like to be taken advantage of again.

Tragically, great majority of people never bother to check out if they are being cheated. Flocks of people voluntarily submit their free will and become 'puppets in the hands of crooks' who present themselves as 'proxies to God' or "Higher Consciousness".

Do you think that The Great Consciousness, the Intelligence that imagined and designed the entire Universe, including every atom in your body, gave you Individual Intellect, unlimited potential, autonomy and Freedom of Choice, needs a proxy?

Indeed Arpheus, if one listens to the song on the radio it's pretty hard to hear all words and get the real meaning most of the times. Makes a difference with the lyrics though...

Would you like your children to worship you? Would you like your children to worship your pictures, your statues, building altars for you, rather than recognizing who you really are and appreciating what you are doing?

Would such a worship satisfy you? WHY NOT?

Please think very carefully WHY such an activity appears to be a pure nonsense. Try to find a logical REASON for it to appear as nonsense. Examine your feelings.

How would you FEEL if your children decided to worship your statues and praying to your pictures? Would you feel satisfied? Why not? Would your intellect and intelligence be satisfied? Wouldn’t you feel deeply disappointed that your children cannot come up with anything more intelligent?

Worshipping is clearly disappointing, unpleasant and even annoying for anyone intelligent enough to comprehend all associated feelings. And that of course includes The Great Intellect (Source).

We have to conclude, that:

Worshipping anyone or anything doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. Worship of any kind is the evidence of a complete ignorance.

Of course, you knew it to start with -- did you not? Incidentally, isn’t it the very essence of the First and most important “commandment” in the Bible? (Exodus 20:3-4 & 20:23)
Do you see how perverted it has become today? Do you see how neglecting this single logical advice created conditions for primitive cults and dangerous idolatry?

So WHY do so many people on Earth engage in all sorts of worship?

Worshipping can occur only when we suppress and actively sabotage the individual intellect. One of the most effective ways of suppressing and sabotaging intellect is inducing FEAR. Anyone who is truly scared has great difficulties to think logically -- is that not so?

Isn’t it a coincidence that people who engage in worshipping are also deeply scared?
Isn’t it a coincidence that promoting FEAR is a key method to maintain and control a flock of worshippers? But fear is a conscious feeling of the Individual Intellect, that is experienced Individually. We can consciously experience fear ONLY if we ALLOW it ourselves.

If someone tried to scare you saying that “God will punish you if you don’t do this-and-that” -- would you feel scared? Notice, that you would feel scared ONLY if you BELIEVED the possibility YOURSELF and ONLY if your intellect was incapable of imagining other possibilities and solutions.

Would you feel scared if you KNEW that the person had no idea whatsoever about the subject matter?

In summary, conscious FEAR is a result of the Individual Intellect choosing to limit ITSELF.

Is there ANYTHING in the Universe at all that we should be afraid of? Do you remember The Purpose? Do you remember WHO you are and WHAT is your potential? What do you think?

The only limit we may ever experience in the Universe -- is the one that we impose ourselves.

WE are The Purpose of the entire Universe

We are the central and primary REASON for creating the entire material Universe to start with.
Atoms, Stars, Galaxies, Planets, Life and anything else that we do not yet know that exists.

WE are the potential "intelligent company" to The Great Intellect, who was alone in The Beginning.

WHEN and IF we find out who we are of course.

WHEN and IF we evolve to become intelligent enough to comprehend and appreciate the Magnitude of the Great Intellect (Source).

WHEN and IF we stop abusing Nature and recognize it as a manifestation of the Great Intelligence in front of our eyes.

dealing with relationships. Decisions affecting business, industry, politics, religion,
the education of your young, the social agenda of your nations, the economic
goals of your society, choices involving war, peace, attack, defense, aggression,
submission; determinations to covet or give away, to save or to share, to unite or
to divide—every single free choice you ever undertake arises out of one of the
only two possible thoughts there are: a thought of love or a thought of fear.

Fear is the energy which contracts, closes down, draws in, runs, hides, hoards,
harms.
Love is the energy which expands, opens up, sends out, stays, reveals, shares,
heals.
Fear wraps our bodies in clothing, love allows us to stand naked. Fear clings to
and clutches all that we have, love gives all that we have away. Fear holds close,
love holds dear. Fear grasps, love lets go. Fear rankles, love soothes. Fear attacks,
love amends.

Every’ human thought, word, or deed is based in one emotion or the other. You
have no choice about this, because there is nothing else from which to choose.
But you have free choice about which of these to select.
You make it sound so easy, and yet in the moment of decision fear wins more
often than not. Why is that?
You have been taught to live in fear. You have been told about the survival of the
fittest and the victory of the strongest and the success of the cleverest. Precious
little is said about the glory of the most loving. And so you strive to be the fittest,
the strongest, the cleverest—in one way or another—and if you see yourself as
something less than this in any situation, you fear loss, for you have been told
that to be less is to lose.

And so of course you choose the action fear sponsors, for that is what you have
been taught. Yet I teach you this: when you choose the action love sponsors, then
will you do more than survive, then will you do more than win, then will you do
more than succeed. Then will you experience the full glory of Who You Really Are,
and who you can be.
To do this you must turn aside the teachings of your well-meaning, but
misinformed, worldly tutors, and hear the teachings of those whose wisdom
comes from another source.

There are many such teachers among you, as always there have been, for I will
not leave you without those who would show you, teach you, guide you, and
remind you of these truths.
Yet the greatest reminder is not anyone outside you, but the voice within you.
This is the first tool that I use, because it is the most accessible.
The voice within is the loudest voice with which I speak, because it is the closest
to you. It is the voice which tells you whether everything else is true or false, right
or wrong, good or bad as you have defined it. It is the radar that sets the course,
steers the ship, guides the journey if you but let it.

It is the voice which tells you right now whether the very words you are reading
are words of love or words of fear. By this measure can you determine whether
they are words to heed or words to ignore.
You said that when I always choose the action that love sponsors, then I will
experience the full glory of who I am and who I can be. Will you expand on this
please?

There is only one purpose for all of life, and that is for you and all that lives to
experience fullest glory.
Everything else you say, think, or do is attendant to that function. There is
nothing else for your soul to do, and nothing else your soul wants to do.
The wonder of this purpose is that it is never-ending. An ending is a limitation,
and God’s purpose is without such a boundary. Should there come a moment in
which you experience yourself in your fullest glory, you will in that instant
imagine an ever greater glory to fulfill.

The more you are, the more you can become, and the more you can become,
the more you can yet be.
The deepest secret is that life is not a process of discovery, but a process of
creation.
You are not discovering yourself, but creating yourself anew. Seek, therefore, not
to find out Who You Are, seek to determine Who You Want to Be."

Hey Avaloneans, I do hope you are fine today Here's a wonderful story to show the meaning of karmic laws and the reason for evil,
to be present in this world today. This is an unusual perspective on what responsibility is and it shows a face of love that isn't often recognised or acknowledged.
Truthseekerdan showed me this thread and I think it's appropriate to post it here too. Now it's present in three threads. Blessed be, Dutchess Tint.

The Little Soul and The Sun
A Children's Parable
by Neale Donald Walsch, Conversations With God

Once upon no time, there was a little Soul who said to God, "I know who I am."
And God said, "That's wonderful! Who are you?"
And the Little Soul shouted, "I'm the Light!"
God smiled a big smile. "That's right!" God exclaimed. "You are the Light."
The Little Soul was so happy, for it had figured out what all the souls in the Kingdom were there to figure out.
"Wow," said the Little Soul, "this is really cool!"

But soon, knowing who it was was not enough. The Little Soul felt stirrings inside, and now wanted to be who it was. And so the Little Soul went back to God (which is not a bad idea for all souls who want to be Who They Really Are) and said,
"Hi, God! Now that I know Who I am, is it okay for me to be it?"
And God said, "You mean you want to be Who You Already Are?"
"Well," replied the Little Soul," it's one thing to know Who I Am, and another thing altogether to actually be it. I want to feel what it's like to be the Light!"

"But you already are the Light," God repeated, smiling again.
"Yes, but I want to see what that feels like!" cried the Little Soul.
"Well," said God with a chuckle, "I suppose I should have known.
You always were the adventuresome one."
Then God's expression changed. "There's only one thing..."
"What?" asked the Little Soul.

"Well, there is nothing else but the Light. You see, I created nothing but what you are; and so, there is no easy way for you to experience yourself as Who You Are, since there is nothing that you are not." "Huh?" said the Little Soul, who was now a little confused.

"Think of it this way," said God. "You are like a candle in the Sun. Oh, you're there all right. Along with a million, gazillion other candles who make up the Sun. And the sun would not be the Sun without you. Nay, it would be a sun without one of its candles...and that would not be the Sun at all; for it would not shine as brightly.
Yet, how to know yourself as the Light when you are amidst the Light -that is the question." "Well," the Little Soul perked up, "you're God. Think of something!"

Once more God smiled. "I already have," God said. "Since you cannot see yourself as the Light when you are in the Light, we'll surround you with darkness." "What's darkness?" the Little Soul asked. God replied, "It is that which you are not." "Will I be afraid of the dark?" cried the Little Soul. "Only if you choose to be," God answered. "There is nothing, really, to be afraid of, unless you decide that there is. You see, we are making it all up. We are pretending."

"Oh," said the Little Soul, and felt better already. Then God explained that, in order to experience anything at all, the exact opposite of it will appear. "It is a great gift," God said, "because without it, you could not know what anything is like. You could not know Warm without Cold, Up without Down, Fast without Slow. You could not know Left without Right, Here without There, Now without Then."

"And so," God concluded, "when you are surrounded with darkness, do not shake your fist and raise your voice and curse the darkness. Rather be a Light unto the darkness, and don't be mad about it. Then you will know Who You Really Are, and all others will know, too. Let your Light shine so that everyone will know how special you are!"

"You mean it's okay to let others see how special I am?" asked the Little Soul.
"Of course!" God chuckled. "It's very okay! But remember,'special' does not mean 'better.' Everybody is special, each in their own way! Yet many others have forgotten that. They will see that it is okay for them to be special only when you see that it is okay for you to be special."

"Wow," said the Little Soul, dancing and skipping and laughing and jumping with joy. "I can be as special as I want to be!" "Yes, and you can start right now," said God, who was dancing and skipping and laughing right along with the Little Soul. "What part of special do you want to be?" "What part of special?" the Little Soul repeated. "I don't understand."

"Well," God explained, "being the Light is being special, and being special has a lot of parts to it. It is special to be kind. It is special to be gentle. It is special to be creative. It is special to be patient. Can you think of any other ways it is special to be?"
The Little Soul sat quietly for a moment. "I can think of lots of ways to be special!" the Little Soul then exclaimed. "It is special to be helpful. It is special to be sharing. It is special to be friendly. It is special to be considerate of others!"

"Yes!" God agreed, "and you can be all of those things, or any part of special you wish to be, at any moment. That's what it means to be the Light." "I know what I want to be, I know what I want to be!" the Little Soul announced with great excitement. "I want to be the part of special called 'forgiving'. Isn't it special to be forgiving?" "Oh, yes," God assured the Little Soul. "That is very special."

"Okay," said the Little Soul. "That's what I want to be. I want to be forgiving. I want to experience myself as that." "Good," said God, "but there's one thing you should know."
The Little Soul was becoming a bit impatient now. It always seemed as though there were some complication. "What is it?" the Little Soul sighed. "There is no one to forgive."

"No one?" The Little Soul could hardly believe what had been said. "No one!"
God repeated. "Everything I have made is perfect. There is not a single soul in all creation less perfect than you. Look around you."

It was then that the Little Soul realized a large crowd had gathered. Souls had come from far and wide ~ from all over the Kingdom ~ for the word had gone forth that the Little Soul was having this extraordinary conversation with God, and everyone wanted to hear what they were saying. Looking at the countless other souls gathered there, the Little Soul had to agree. None appeared less wonderful, less magnificent, or less perfect than the Little Soul itself. Such was the wonder of the souls gathered around, and so bright was their Light, that the Little Soul could scarcely gaze upon them.

"Who, then, to forgive?" asked God. "Boy, this is going to be no fun at all!" grumbled the Little Soul. "I wanted to experience myself as One Who Forgives. I wanted to know what that part of special felt like." And the Little Soul learned what it must feel like to be sad. But just then a Friendly Soul stepped forward from the crowd. "Not to worry, Little Soul," the Friendly Soul said, "I will help you." "You will?" the Little Soul brightened. "But what can you do?" "Why, I can give you someone to forgive!"

"You can?" "Certainly!" chirped the Friendly Soul. "I can come into your next lifetime and do something for you to forgive." "But why? Why would you do that?" the Little Soul asked. "You, who are a Being of such utter perfection! You, who vibrate with such a speed that it creates a Light so bright that I can hardly gaze upon you! What could cause you to want to slow down your vibration to such a speed that your bright Light would become dark and dense? What could cause you ~ who are so light that you dance upon the stars and move through the Kingdom with the speed of your thought--to come into my life and make yourself so heavy that you could do this bad thing?"

"Simple," the Friendly Soul said. "I would do it because I love you." The Little Soul seemed surprised at the answer. "Don't be so amazed," said the Friendly Soul, "you have done the same thing for me. Don't you remember? Oh, we have danced together, you and I, many times. Through the eons and across all the ages have we danced. Across all time and in many places have we played together. You just don't remember."

"We have both been All Of It. We have been the Up and the Down of it, the Left and the Right of it. We have been the Here and the There of it, the Now and the Then of it. We have been the male and the female, the good and the bad; we have both been the victim and the villain of it."

"Thus have we come together, you and I, many times before; each bringing to the other the exact and perfect opportunity to Express and to Experience Who We Really Are. And so," the Friendly Soul explained further, "I will come into your next lifetime and be the 'bad one' this time. I will do something really terrible, and then you can experience yourself as the One Who Forgives. "But what will you do?" the Little Soul asked, just a little nervously, "that will be so terrible?" "Oh," replied the Friendly Soul with a twinkle, "we'll think of something."

Then the Friendly Soul seemed to turn serious, and said in a quiet voice, "You are right about one thing, you know." "What is that?" the Little Soul wanted to know. "I will have to slow down my vibration and become very heavy to do this not-so-nice thing. I will have to pretend to be something very unlike myself. And so, I have but one favour to ask of you in return." "Oh, anything, anything!" cried the Little Soul, and began to dance and sing, "I get to be forgiving, I get to be forgiving!"

Then the Little Soul saw that the Friendly Soul was remaining very quiet. "What is it?" the Little Soul asked. "What can I do for you? You are such an angel to be willing to do this for me!" "Of course this Friendly Soul is an angel!" God interrupted. "Everyone is! Always remember: I have sent you nothing but angels."

And so the Little Soul wanted more than ever to grant the Friendly Soul's request. "What can I do for you?" the Little Soul asked again. "In the moment that I strike you and smite you," the Friendly Soul replied, "in the moment that I do the worst to you that you could possible imagine ~ in that very moment..." "Yes?" the Little Soul interrupted, "yes...?""Remember Who I Really Am." "Oh, I will!" cried the Little Soul, "I promise! I will always remember you as I see you right here, right now!"

"Good," said the Friendly Soul, "because, you see, I will have been pretending so hard, I will have forgotten myself. And if you do not remember me as I really am, I may not be able to remember for a very long time. And if I forget Who I Am, you may even forget Who You Are, and we will both be lost. Then we will need another soul to come along and remind us both of Who We Are."

"No, we won't!" the Little Soul promised again. "I will remember you! And I will thank you for bringing me this gift ~ the chance to experience myself as Who I Am. " And so, the agreement was made. And the Little Soul went forth into a new lifetime, excited to be the Light, which was very special, and excited to be that part of special called Forgiveness.

And the Little Soul waited anxiously to be able to experience itself as Forgiveness, and to thank whatever other soul made it possible. And at all the moments in that new lifetime, whenever a new soul appeared on the scene, whether that new soul brought joy or sadness--and especially if it brought sadness--the Little Soul thought of what God had said. "Always remember," God had smiled, "I have sent you nothing but angels."

1. If all this is just a game, why spoil it telling us about it, what to do to win? I'd rather think that story is part of the game of deception and the 'game' is still being played.

2. The story about the little soul asking to experience being light by having darkness around it is really the story of the snake tricking Eve into eating the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. It was not offered by God but by the devil... God actually asked Adam and Eve to NOT eat from it.

3. It is selfish and vain to want to see our own light in opposition to darkness, instead of just being happy with how we are inside. This leads to the trick played by the devil: convincing us to live in the material world, outside ourselves, needing things from the outside to know who we really are, instead of just living within.

Wood, please allow me to share a few words. As you said, if you would rather 'think' then you'll have to use your mind (ego), and that is the actual 'deceiver' -- because you'll look without for your answers, rather than within. JMHO

Again if you use your 'mind', you'll believe the story literally, and not understand the meaning. As for the devil, have a read here...

I'm pretty sure you know that our 'true nature' (soul) is Divine (Love/Light) -- and what we experience in this 3D body is duality which has a dark side (evil) that is experienced through the mind ego. Therefore in order to remember who you really are, one has to experience the opposite (darkness) -- hence, one has a choice to exercise its 'free will' (freedom of choice). Hope this makes sense...

What's there to spoil, Wood? I am curious what you mean by that. Knowing this life on Earth is a game, makes all the difference in the world to me.
Cause I don't take it to seriously on appropriate moments. It's funny that I never think of winning, in this game, just playing only. I guess I don't believe in the end of this game, no winners and loosers. It proves how different our focus can be. Other aspects of viewing life as a game are to me: being a player = a creator, unpredictability, stimulating open mindedness, having fun, laugh, giggle, push and shove in friendly ways, using humour, trial and error, stumbling withouth a worry in the world, childlike behaviour and always eager to learn new things, unexpected movements and changes of rules or even discarding them: trying out new things and ways to solve problems, surprises and friendly quarrels.

How can you define Light, without knowing Darkness, Wood? I've expressed my thoughts on duality consciousness in several posts already. I believe God blew him/herself up to be able to know him/herself through us, the Divine sparks. And those Divine sparks become conscious by discernment, after experiencing positive and negative aspects of life. Ultimately choosing consciously for the Light, when they love to return to God. So they become God and conscious of themselves, that's what I call divine evolution, just now choosing to name it so.

I agree with you, Wood, that this is the story of the snake too. That event was the start of duality consciousness. It's literally in your words here:
Wood:

That serves the purpose of experiencing life in it's positive and negative ways, conscious choice and discernment. I think that on this level, the 3rd dimension, the lowest we can possibly consciously get, God has to work together with the Devil on the purpose of knowing him/self, through US HUMANS. This is such a peculiar contradiction and logic at the same time, to me. It's like a double sided mask. The Church has divided God and the Devil as opponents. In reality it's all one big heap of consciousness. I also think that the Bible (read Church) holds this part: "God asking to not eat from this tree" as a power of manipulation over the herd, wagging a finger and saying "Now, look what you did, I told you so, you shall be punishd for this, you should have listened to ME, God" I think someone has made that warning from God up, to suppress the herd.

3. It is selfish and vain to want to see our own light in opposition to darkness, instead of just being happy with how we are inside. This leads to the trick played by the devil: convincing us to live in the material world, outside ourselves, needing things from the outside to know who we really are, instead of just living within.

I think if feels nicer when you are Light then when you are Dark, don't you, Wood? In this story this part underneath serves the intention of the storyteller only, to prove his point or to show how our Light can be used as a "tool" and not as a passive inert state of being. How in Heaven's name can you know and define your Light without wanting to see your Light?Do you mean to express your preference for balance and calm always, without judging something as Light or Dark? Unattached in everything, but happy? Without attachment to happiness? How is Light in opposition to Darkness connected to the outside material world, Wood?

You sure sound Calvinistic here, Wood saying it is selfish and in vain to want to see our own light. In Holland we still have lots of people who think that laughing on Sundays is a sin. I am exaggerating enormously, but I guess you know what I mean by this: pleasure is vain and life isn't a game at all!
I agree with your description of the tricks of the devil, luring us away from our inner peace, our Light that is always stemming from within.

It begins to radiate outwards, when the veil is lifted and we begin to remember who we truly are: Lightwarriors. Just living within doesn't allow to relate to the outside world, in which I think lies our purpose: to connect and experience many facets of life. Like Jesus said "Be in this world, not of this world"
I believe we know ourselves by being mirrored by our fellow beings and the reality outside of ourselves. The decision to just live within is a choice to distance oneself literally from the outside world, do I understand you right, Wood? I presume this may lead to boredom.

The story about the little soul asking to experience being light by having darkness around it is really the story of the snake tricking Eve into eating the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. It was not offered by God but by the devil... God actually asked Adam and Eve to NOT eat from it.

Love transforms the physical, vital and mental planes of conception, perception and sensation of our mind and consciousness.
