Let me put a positive slant on this 2012 saga based on something Jay Weidner said. He said that the controllers were planning in terms of a ‘doomsday’ scenario for the year 2442, i.e. 666 years after 1776.

This was until the late 19th century, when Maya research started coming up with the 2012 date. They were sufficiently panicky at the thought that their plans might be hopelessly late that they started speeding things up to meet this much tighter deadline.

The bottom line is that the 2012 hype was originally leaked info, or more likely disinfo, since the powers-that-be were probably deliberately misled at this point. As a result, all their plans have been substantially botched for lack of time. In addition, nothing that they were led to expect is happening, and the rest of us have an extra 432 unplanned-for years (another interesting number) to sort out the problems on this planet prior to whatever the original 2442 event was supposed to be.

So in a sense, the 2012 phenomenon was a very real game changer: there was a before and now there is an after, whereas there was originally supposed to be a before but no after.
