There are precious few absolutes, indeed! When people get through their thick skulls that truth is relative, AND decide to work on consensus, the world will be a better place.

YES.....we have our different truths because everything is fractured---The Stone has many different facets to it---each of us (facets) REFLECT a different side of Truth...When All facets are combined together we make the whole multifaceted GEM that is the One Body. Most of us are confused when we only see certain facets of the stone which distorts reality-(truth)

One who is ALL seeing --Knows All the Facets--connects to all pieces of truth

Thank you GreenGuy. This concept is (IMO) the quintessential existential truth. I notice that it is not a very popular or well discussed one.

One of the most disheartening aspects of participating in such a forum - for me at least - is seeing how many are unwilling/unable to recognize this. I see such a lack of uncertainty in the manner in which expressions are made that it almost feels like it is being dictated to them by a perceived authority. Being 'certain' of one's viewpoint does not equate with truth, outside the mind of the individual.

I see such a lack of awareness of the subjectivity of perception, of the psychological and physiological elements that contest the would-be certainty that many have convinced themselves of that I am left only to wonder.

I find it particularly telling when 'truth-seekers' are decidedly disengaged from the act of questioning that which seems to fit their desired opinion. It seems almost like more attention is paid to their physiological endorphins and neuro-peptides (happy brain-drugs) than is toward critically assessing a given topic, and that assumes that any critical analysis occurs. It is comparable to the dogmatic skeptics who are unwilling to investigate the paranormal because they have concluded in advance.

Or the want to label people as Conspiracy Theorists,....

I've experienced the want to believe in a thing, idea, or concept without investigation, but find the practice to be ill-advised and irrational. Moreover, I have exposed myself to adversity through such wants.

A tightrope-walker does not put a blindfold on unless they have practiced his routine to the N'th degree, and even exhaustive practice doesn't discount the possibility of emergence. One does well to not put a blindfold on for their first 'go'.

The thesis of this thread quoted above is sublime, and one I subscribe to though I would not force it on anyone,... but just barely.
