This is my favorite poem of all time. It is quite a beautiful poem that has had some significant meaning to me for a large part of my life. Since becoming awake and aware, it has gained a newer meaning to me when I thought that I had the poem all figured out.

I believe that poems are sources of energy in which we can all draw from. Poems can mean different things to different people at different stages throughout their life, depending on their current mood, ideals, and personality.

To me, this poem means many different things. It describes the walls, both physical and psychological, that we create and maintain to divide ourselves from others. It also takes on meanings such as disregarding childish notions such as the inclusion of elves as being part of our reality, acknowledging the fervent attitude of domination of all forms of life, and the comfort people take on to old, traditional paradigms while dismissing new ones.

Just as the title suggests, 2014 is going to be a time where we will need to mend the walls we set up to separate ourselves from others.

Which walls will we individually choose to mend, and which ones will we decide to break down all together? Or decide to leave unchanged? Will we adopt a new paradigm collectively? Perhaps you, Ulli, may take comfort in this poem as well, as we need to mend the walls between us and the dead to give the dead the peaceful transition they desire, whilst keeping a bridge open to them.

I implore you all to read the poem, find your own personal metaphorical (or literal) meaning to it and think about a better future for humanity for 2014 and beyond.

    Mending Wall
    Robert Frost

Something there is that doesn't love a wall,
That sends the frozen-ground-swell under it,
And spills the upper boulders in the sun,
And makes gaps even two can pass abreast.
The work of hunters is another thing:
I have come after them and made repair
Where they have left not one stone on a stone,
But they would have the rabbit out of hiding,
To please the yelping dogs. The gaps I mean,
No one has seen them made or heard them made,
But at spring mending-time we find them there.
    I let my neighbor know beyond the hill;
And on a day we meet to walk the line
And set the wall between us once again.
We keep the wall between us as we go.
To each the boulders that have fallen to each.
And some are loaves and some so nearly balls
We have to use a spell to make them balance:
'Stay where you are until our backs are turned!'
We wear our fingers rough with handling them.
Oh, just another kind of out-door game,
One on a side. It comes to little more:
There where it is we do not need the wall:
He is all pine and I am apple orchard.
My apple trees will never get across
And eat the cones under his pines, I tell him.
He only says, 'Good fences make good neighbors'.
Spring is the mischief in me, and I wonder
If I could put a notion in his head:
'Why do they make good neighbors? Isn't it
    Where there are cows?
But here there are no cows.
Before I built a wall I'd ask to know
What I was walling in or walling out,
And to whom I was like to give offence.
Something there is that doesn't love a wall,
That wants it down.' I could say 'Elves' to him,
But it's not elves exactly, and I'd rather
He said it for himself. I see him there
Bringing a stone grasped firmly by the top
In each hand, like an old-stone savage armed.
He moves in darkness as it seems to me~
Not of woods only and the shade of trees.
He will not go behind his father's saying,
And he likes having thought of it so well
He says again, "Good fences make good neighbors."
"Rather than love, than fame, than money, give me truth."
    ~Henry David Thoreau

I still have too much happening here to catch up on all the posts, but just wanted to share a couple of pictures I took.
    Non photoshop...straight off the iPad.

Dad was buried with full honours, and the municipal police escorted him.
Not to mention the thousands who showed up, all in floods of tears.
National anthem, and even mariachis with trumpets.
So here is one which has the light coming in a such a way from the back window
that it shows what appears to be an angel giving blessings. Right above the policeman's head.

December 23rd was Raf’s last post, and you can’t leave a message on his board. His color code looks as though he’s not here at least for a time. It doesn’t state whether he’s retired, or gone fishin’. UPDATE: I just checked the member's list, his name doesn't come up.

Raf, if you see this, I admire how you think. I don’t alway agree, but your POVs have helped me. One more thing, from time to time, I use your photo as my desktop picture. Your art is innovative and fun.

    Paula

PS I don't say too much when people leave but I still think of them. So should your time come, know you'll be missed, too.

It is his latest book to be published, for the larger part, even though it was completed and copyrighted in 2010. This is due to it being the second in a pair, of 'Babylon's Banksters' and now the recent publishing of the second...'Financial vipers of Venice'.

Raf RMorgan is gone. I will truly miss his very intelligent and interesting posts. I am sorry he is gone. We do need people from other parts of the world to balance out the American and British and Canadian/Australian crowd, mostly when as nice and intelligent as RMorgan.

Ouf, hard to look at. The perfect description of a male society overtaken by psychopathy (the mullah and the husband) and abritraty rules. Having completely obliterated the feminine. Hard to listen to. In a men's world, women are slave and lower than dogs (not in Canada, not a true men's world lol).

That's too bad about Raf. If I ever made it down to Brazil, I would have found a way to stop in. Perhaps he will be back. After all, where else can he even talk about these sort of subjects and get anything close to a serious reply? The answer is: nowhere else.

As for the interview with Joseph Farrel that Purple links to, at the 1 hour mark to about 1:12, you get a final answer on the story about WHO is making bitcoin a big thing. We find that there is now a history coming out of what bit coin might actually be, who it may come from. The explanation of closed systems vs that of open systems..this finds bitcoin in the realm of closed systems of finance. My answer is not definitive or final and it bears some watching and some time spent ruminating on the subject. specifically how the valuation of bitcoin is done. But, we do start in bitcoin with FINITE numbers of bitcoin and then subdivisions thereof, which is a thing that is directly against an open system of finance. Right at the 1:12 mark of the interview, you get the meat of the answer.

Which is exactly the trap that is advertized as the divine right of kings, etc, as is covered in the book 'financial vipers of Venice'. In the open system any division of infinity - remains infinity, just in separate pieces. Bitcoin is closed. Like modern finance. As the admiral from Star wars said: It's a trap!

Speaking of small quirky interesting films, I just saw 'seeking a friend for the end of the world', and found it to be a nice little film. Don't bother watching any previews if you are thinking of taking a shot at it, just watch it and see it play it's story out.

Like the Vietnamese film The Vertical Ray of the Sun, we're not really sure there is a point, but the journey is fun and it has it's beauty along the way. No macho goals and overcoming of obstacles in a way that most manly men would ever understand. (read: not western trash, no 'tits, guns, and cop humiliation' to be found anywhere within)

    Wow ...

Raf ... Farrell ... Purple and Carmody.

Most of my "favs" ... guess I need to do a bit of catching up yet again (dammit ... how dare I take a few daze off for the family over the holidaze?).

Well I just saw a very, very cute Koala bear walk across my garden and climb a tree less than a metre from my window,it even turned took a moment and had a wee pondering look at my good self before it scuttled(at koala pace)up the tree and off on its way.

    What beautiful creatures.

    Just thought I`d share,

    Peace to all you guys

    1. Closed systems are open systems disguised to look as if they are closed. For example, I have a book on the economics of traditionalist (scarcity) ecology from 1978 which states plainly that the Earth can be viewed as a closed system, because the Sun’s input can be excluded as not being directly usable energy – absolute balderdash of the first order.

    2. life = debt/guilt. I have been exploring the idea that karma is an accountant’s description of how life works. We all have negative karma like money owed to the bank. We pay it off by being good, i.e. docile. The bankers on the other hand have all the positive karma, which they are free to spend liberally, by perpetrating unimaginable levels of evil. To get away with so much spending/evil-doing and still balance the karma books, they must be gods or saints. Adam and Eve’s original sin was not so much disobedience as helping themselves to an apple, not realizing that they were in a pay store. They inadvertently invented the crime of shoplifting and the punishment of life imprisonment.

    3. He goes on to make an almost Jordan Maxwellian pun on death/debt. I am not sure that Jordan is always correct in his etymologies, but Farrell’s one seems plausible. I’m not sure if these things are deliberate – they may be more like Freudian slips. Couples these days do indeed form ‘till debt us do part’ for if money issues are not usually uppermost before they split, they usually are afterwards. And you see this link with death in terms like ‘mortgage’, which clearly suggests a pledge to death, i.e. with one’s life as security. The Oxford English Dictionary has a quote from a lawyer in 1628 explaining that it just means a pledge that is dead in the sense that either it is paid, and therefore dead to the borrower, or not paid, and the land is dead to the borrower. A likelier explanation is that the peasant has been worked to death.

There is an interesting passage in François the Champi (aka The Country Waif) in which George Sand, writing in 1848, describes the post-Revolutionary situation whereby the peasant not only slaves to make the land productive but also squanders his hard-earned cash in a two-tiered land-owning system:
Quote A peasant, however miserably poor, will always pay interest, for he is unwilling to let go of what bit of ground he has and which the creditor may take back if he is dissatisfied.
We all know about it, my good folk! More than once we have had a chance of enriching ourselves by buying good land at a low price. But, low as it may be, it is too high for us. Our covetous eyes are bigger than our purses and we worry ourselves trying to till a field of which the harvest covers barely half the interest exacted by the seller. And when we have slave and sweated half our miserable lives we find ourselves ruined, and only the earth has benefited by our toil and trouble. The land is worth double, and it is the moment to sell it. If it sold well we would be saved; but that never happens. The interest we have been paying has sucked us dry so that we have to sell at once at any price. If we kick against this the courts force us to do it and the first owner, if he is still alive, or his representative or inheritors, take back their property just as it is; that is to say that for long years their land has been in our hands and we have been paying them eight and ten per cent. interest; then they get it back, worth double because of our labour—a good piece of l and which costs them neither trouble nor money and the value of which has been increased by the passage of time. Thus might will always overcome right, and we poor creatures will always be punished for our covetousness and will remain as stupid as ever.
In this way Madame Sévère held a mortgage on her own property and at a good rate of interest. (…)
the burning fever of the peasant who will not be torn from his glebe-land. Do you know what glebe is, my children? Once upon a time it was much talked of in our parishes. The story went that in the old days the lords bound us to it to sweat us to death, but that the Revolution cut the rope and that we no longer strain like oxen at the master’s plough. The truth is that we have merely tied ourselves to our own harrow instead, that we sweat no less, and that we die of it just the same.
François’ adoptive mother’s land has been sold off to these peasants, and with a little money of his own, he sets about getting it back for her. Simplifying things somewhat, he does so by whispering the lie that the rich woman actually ‘had more debts than there are holes in a sieve’ and that the land might be confiscated any day. He also gives them a small sum in addition to their money back for the land. Hence the solution lies in destroying the rich person’s credit rating and by injecting fresh money where it is needed – this is where the supposed closed system proves open.

i think you are taking 'system' in a different sense from the totally neutral one I am using. All I mean is an organization of interconnected parts. An atom is so many electrons revolving around so many protons and neutrons. Which part of this system do you disagree with and how do you propose to change it?

Oh I was referring to the land owning "system" you were discussing where I posted your quote....

My response is something I would say in all situations focusing on an economic system based on credit, paper, and bureaucratic language and documents that could circle around the earth for eons and still DO ALL OF US NO GOOD. And yes the peasants have more then likely worked to death...

My comment was not geared to your point of view....it was spawned from reading a lot about money, banks, economics this morning
