Sometimes the month of February is a little longer than usual: it's called a leap day. With fifteen leap days, this sounds like a leap millenium

Incidentally, February lost out when the Julian calendar was made and then modified. What happened was that Julius (Caesar) was given the month of July in his honour, and when Augustus popped his clogs, his month, normally of 30 days, couldn't be shorter than the old man's, now could it? So a day was pinched off the end of February. Hence the Ides of March actually arrive quicker than they should.

Quote Hi Everyone. There are some disruptive people posting things here. That is part of the "noise" that I was referring to earlier. More of this will happen as we get closer to the announcement. Many of these people have brand new Facebook pages and are anonymous, and some seem to be managing multiple brand new Facebook identities. So far, things are still manageable, and I try to block the worst offenders. But the time may come when this Facebook page crumbles due to the "noise." This the reason why it is important for people who want to stay connected to what happens after the announcement to sign up for the Farsight Newsletter. It is free, and the addresses are never shared with anyone.

I signed up a few years ago and can confirm that they don't spam your email box
with a lot of mail. The implication postings indeed arrive much later but that is
because sending emails from a server is pretty expensive ...

If you have a 'normal' webhosting account you can only send 150 emails per
hour. If you want to send bulk email it requires (semi) dedicated accounts that
are more expensive. But probably still affordable for institutes.

The emails contain intro headers and those contain a bit of info too.

    From his Facebook page ...

The last sentence in the last box looks similar to a previous cartoon. Someone, somehow expects
this to be a 'shocker' ... hhmm

P.S. it remains a riddle however that 'Ides of March' apparently is important but was not the first planned date
Hmm, strange last sentence in the comic "I am glad we're watching from up here", I am guessing his intention is the world picking up on that one, so why are they glad they are up there, great story about to start and a heliview gives the best perspective ( front row seats), or is sh!t about to happen and they don't want to be down here, somewhat polarized if you think about it, so wtf is in the middle and what is it good for?? And for whom?

This is taking for ever maybe, but the last two have been the best so far IMO. RV on its own is not going to make a major breakthrough in public awareness, It can only do this by leading to some irrefutable hard evidence. It will still be interesting to see what this evidence actually is and seeing just how irrefutable or otherwise it is.
I don't really see where we're going with all of this. Science has already proved that physical reality is an epiphenomenon of consciousness. Yes, physical reality and consciousness are complementaries of the same thing. Is this some revelation?

I guess this whole stunt may be some kind of play to "popularize" the underlying tenets already well know to quantum physics... I will be the first to admit if I'm missing something here, but everything the Farsight has revealed in the last couple implication postings is already well known and understood by anyone with even a moderate grasp of quantum mechanics.

I think you are missing a couple of things. The link between physical reality and consciousness may be established, but mainstream science still won’t go there almost by definition, because it deals with the physical, leaving the non-physical to religion. And mainstream opinion sees religion as detached from physical reality either in terms of other-worldliness or as the ‘God delusion’.

Compare this with one of the ‘ten core beliefs that most scientists take for granted’, according to Rupert Sheldrake in ‘The Science Delusion’:
Quote All matter is unconscious. It has no inner life or subjectivity or point of view. Even human consciousness is an illusion produced by the material activities of brains.’
Secondly, I would suggest that people ‘with even a moderate grasp of quantum mechanics’ are few and far between, notably because quantum mechanics have for a long time been divorced from macro-reality. We are regularly told how particles behave in weird ways that are counterintuitive if not totally incomprehensible on a larger scale. And the famous line, ‘If you think you’ve understood quantum mechanics, then you haven’t’. In other words, Do not try this at home!

So people do listen to scientists. Unfortunately this includes listening to the priesthood of scientists telling them when things are too hard for them to understand. When that barrier comes down, the good news is that people are listening.

I understand your point, but if this is true won't mainstream science just shun whatever "science" the Farsight shows us anyway and deem it some kind of religion or other-worldly nonsense?

I would guess I take my understanding somewhat for granted. I have not taken mainstream opinion, as you have defined above, seriously for quite some time. That's not to discount the many discoveries and insights advanced within this contained little box of inquiry. But in the larger scheme of things, that sect of the scientific community is passé and irrelevant. It is regurgitating a brand of propaganda and religion all its own. Who cares if the high priests of the mainstream science community and their flock insist the earth is flat? We know it's round.

Science (not religion) established nearly a century ago, as early as the days of Bohm, that reality itself is other-worldly and is not physical at all. To deny that, in the name of science, is to embrace a conflicting belief system.

I agree this is how the herd understands reality through the filter of mainstream science, but this is simply not true. We're not going to fall off the earth if we sail a ship to the horizon. I promise.

I have a hunch this is exactly what Courtney Brown is going to announce on the Ides of March, by some manner of easy-to-grasp scientific discovery, that the world of quantum mechanics is not divorced from macro-reality.

    @T Smith
I agree that you are well ahead of the curve and there have been signs that many people have not been picking up on; yet these are the people that are needed and the announcement is intended for.

When Erwin Schrodinger, as I recall, says in What is Life that the human body is the size it is so that statistical probability smoothes over the likelihood of catastrophic failures in cells, this I suppose is a quantum effect on a larger scale. This was scaled up further in Asimov’s hugely popular Foundation series, but again most have missed the implications. He has a galactic empire in order to have enough humans to make the progress of their society on this massive scale largely predictable and hence avoid further catastrophe with the help of some planning by ‘psychohistorians’.

Ramping-up seems to be the name of the game. So far we have been acting as particles with our non-mainstream views, and we all understand that this knowledge needs to be turned into a wave by ‘going viral’ as they say. If Courtney Brown is going to contribute to reaching critical mass, it will be as a popularizer, not as a discoverer (although it sounds like some new discovery is involved as well) – on the shoulders of giants.

LOL, Roison. I, on the other hand, took the easiest math course I could manage to get the math requirement out of the way and Geology of Colorado 101 to get the science out of the way, and then confined my college years to music, art, and writing. I generally sort of understand that physics has something to do with something physical, but that's the end of it. But, when I read these implication postings, I automatically analyze for things like same or different author, implied meanings behind words, subtle shifts in emphasis, and the like.

Fascinating! Especially the week when he showed us a volcanic creation of an island due to a rift valley feature of the earth's crust south of Iceland, then showed us some videos about the pending big earthquake in California due to the North American plate pushing over the top of the Pacific quake, then showed us the rift valley in the crust that starts down in Arizona and New Mexico and narrows up over the mountains of Colorado, and then asked us to put the pieces together and figure out the future of the High mountains in Colorado.

Most of the 18 year olds in the class just sat there and looked stupid. I, at age 38, sat there in shock.
