Bumping this wonderful thread! Just found it.

Tippi is a beautiful example of where we humans are headed as a species, IMHO.

By the way, the natural habitat oif the lion is NOT the jungle but the savanna grasslands.

The story of Christian the lion always brings an overflow of happiness to my heart. Lions are wild and predators, but yet ...

If you have not heard of the story of Christian the lion, then this is one of many introductions (but please remember that lions are wild animals, as are most animals in Africa):

Here's a version with the uplifting music:

NOTE No weapons at all, even for protection (for those who are unaware, lions are very dangerous to humans).

    -------

Here's little French girl Tippi Degré riding a five-ton elephant - whom she called 'my brother' - chilling with a cheetah, and hugging a giant bullfrog as if it were a Teddy bear.

Tippi was born in Namibia to French wildlife photographer parents, and grew up in Africa. Tippi spent her whole childhood playing with wild animals including lion cubs, a mongoose, a snake, a cheetah, baby zebra, giraffes and crocodiles. Her childhood sounds more like a newer version of Mowgli than something real.

The little girl saw nothing unusual about her company: "I don't have friends here, because I never see children. So the animals are my friends", she said.

Tippi is now 23 years old, and the only child to wildlife photographer parents Sylvie Robert and Alain Degré, who have published her photos in a book called Tippi of Africa.

Thanks Bill, I have seen the videos of Tippi and love the innocence and joy that shines from her. I believe we could learn so much if only we would show the love for all creatures that she displays in these photos.

    Peace,

Awesome photos. IMO Tippi should be dubbed the queen of Mother Earth and the queen to all of the vast species of animals that she had made a part of, in her everyday innocent and inspirational life. I have watched her videos prior. Indeed, she is an incredible inspiring entity. And both of her parents are to be commended in letting her live such a special life. Thanks Bill. Awesome stuff!!!!!

And Here's Lil Tippi with her overweight big brother.

The yearning for the ability to communicate with animals has to be a very primal urge, if not only for survival and the ability to better understand the animals we were prey to, hunted (and later domesticated) from the dawn of mankind.

It's also a belief that we reincarnate as all the different life forms in our journeys of being in this world. I have pondered that understanding many times since the day of the birth of my daughter, when as she lay in my arms I had a profound embodied sense of expansion and minds eye visualization of my being a whale and she my calf at my side.
Maybe, that kind of thing could be explained as some biological evolutionary mammalian imprint in the human psyche... but for me its in the top 5 of the enigmas of my experiential existence.

Come to think of it,a few years ago I also had a minds eye visualization of being a shamanistic figure who shape shifted into an eagle.. then soared over the terrain and showed his people where lost elderly and children were / also led them to animals to hunt.

Am curious to know whether anyone else has like experience to share?

What a stark contrast was Tippi's childhood immersion in nature to our urban dwelling childrens bereft knowing (of what should be their birthright) in the concrete jungle.

    Awesome find:-)
If only the sheeple of the industrial world could share this experience, throughout their childhood, the world would be a better place.
Maybe this should be the preparation for ayahuasca in adulthood?

This story of Tippi the girl that so beautifully co-exists with nature is something to savor again and again, simply inspiring and expanding. cooperation between species can go a much longer way than we gave it credit for if we do not pose a threat to each other.
Another such beautiful story is that of Marlice van der merwe, who grew with the Bushmens in Namibia and is one of only a few white man who can speak their language.

Today, Marlice and her husband work to preserve both African wildlife and the culture of Namibia's original inhabitants.

In 2004, Marlice and Rudie bought a 10,000 hectare piece of farmland, 42 km outside of Windhoek to establish their own animal reserve. The Bushman word N/a’an ku sê means 'God will protect us'. They opened N/a’an ku sê's Charity Lodge & Wildlife Sanctuary in 2007. The Sanctuary accommodates mostly orphaned and injured animals that cannot be released safely back into the wild. N/a’an ku sê lodge is an article 21 organisation which donates any profits back into the conservation projects and work with the San Bushman community.
