Boeing MH370 disappears in flight with 239 passengers

I'm still curious why cell phones are still ringing and no one thought to triangulate signals...

In another eerie development, family members of some of the 239 people on board the said they were getting ring tones when dialing the phones of their missing loved ones.

Daily Mail reports that the sister of one of the missing Chinese passengers dialed her brother’s phone on live television, showing the world that it still rings as if it were working just fine.

“This morning, around 11:40, I called my older brother’s number twice, and I got the ringing tone,” the woman said.

She called again a few hours later to hear it ringing once more.

Malaysia Airlines official Hugh Dunleavy said that his company has called the cell phones of crew members and heard ringing on the other line as well.

Authorities are seeing if they can triangulate the GPS signal on the missing persons’ smartphones to find their location... link

with modern electronics, pings are sent by cells to local towers and at a glance details of last contact should be easily seen...




it hasn't been long since China reported an aircraft that hit an invisible UFO that damaged the front of the plane, which could be seen when it landed, could this be another air collision with beings that don't exist?

the military post said it received the last message from the pilot saying the cabin was breaking up...

Those cellphone attempts are by loved ones on the ground trying to contact the plane, not people on the plane phoning home. The 'ringing' is apparently an automatic recording by some service providers to fill the blank time before a call is connected. None of those call attempts have actually been answered, sadly.

19.33 India says its navy, air force and coast guard are now looking for the missing Malaysia Airlines plane as the search has expanded to cover an area stretching from the South China Sea to the Andaman Sea.

A Defense Ministry statement has said India has received a formal request for help from the Malaysian government in tracing the missing aircraft. The area indicated by Malaysia is in the South Andaman Sea and west of Great Nicobar Island.

India's statement says its air effort includes two C-130s, one Mi-17 V5 helicopter of the air force and Dornier and P8i maritime reconnaissance aircraft of the navy.

The statement also says navy and coast guard ships will comb the area.

20.00 Reports are emerging that satellites picked up faint electronic pulses from Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 after it went missing on Saturday, indicating that plane's systems remained on for some time. However, the pings alone are not proof that the plane was in the air or on the ground.

22.25 Some more detail on the possible satellite 'contact' with the missing plane, from the Associated Press news agency, who detail their source as 'a US official briefed on the search for the plane'.

The Boeing 777-200 wasn't transmitting data to the satellite, they report, but was instead sending out a signal to establish contact, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to discuss the situation by name.

Boeing offers a satellite service that can receive a stream of data during flight on how the aircraft is functioning. Malaysia Airlines didn't subscribe to that service, but the plane still had the capability of connecting with the satellite and was automatically sending pings, the official said.

The continuing pings led searchers to believe the plane could have flown more than 1,000 miles (1,600 kilometers) beyond its last confirmed sighting on radar, the official said. The plane had enough fuel to fly about four more hours, he said.

See, even-though they weren't subscribed to the service the equipment would still automatically transmit the pings.

It's no different than a cell phone that isn't subscribed to a service . . . It still sends out pings and connects to cell sites, you just don't have service.

This is correct.

When you make a call the ringing you hear is being provided to your phone automatically while the system is searching for the phone you are calling.

This would account for the fact that sometimes when you may hear three or four rings before your party answers, your party may be picking-up on only the first or second ring that they hear.

The US said yesterday that the search should include the Indian Ocean, but when the Malaysians had their news conference about 14 hours ago, they denied that a search in that area was necessary. They said that they were not looking at the theory that the plane flew four hours after last correspondence with tower.

The Malaysian team may not be cooperating fully with the Americans--don't know. A WALL STREET JOURNAL reporter was the one who broke the story about the Indian Ocean area yesterday. He also said that the plane may have been flying for up to 4 hours after the last communication with air traffic controllers.

In fact there is another video clip which showed the Ambassador calling the Malaysian military and got the reply that the UFO was found to be "friendly" and did not pose any threat. A man yelled "Friendly??" upon hearing this.

My interpretation: The UFO is not alien.

Are they perhaps saying that it is an unidentified airplane? Not an unidentified object.

The choice of words was Unidentified Flying Object, I supposed the same with the original language (because UFO is a common word). May be it did not look like a plane in the radar signal?

My conclusions - last summer someone envisioned a plane taking off from an Asian country, with almost 200 people on it, crashing because of impatiently overlooking some problem that could have been noticed before take-off.
