Just getting back from a week away from any computer interaction. "Cold turkey" therapy for a programmer. :~)

Looking back through recent posts, I see Marianne has just had surgery.

Hey, I'm back at my sister and brother-in-laws doing some more work. Bumping out their kitchen and making the back porch living space plus about an 8' by 11' add on, I built them a 2 car garage a couple years ago and shared some pics here if some of you remember. Geeeessshh time flies!

Well, friday when I was carrying a chunk of overhang I had cut out and was placing in the backyard the u.p.s. guy came up the driveway. I waved at him and he tooted to me. I went down to get the package and he said that sure is a beautiful garage and I said I am the brother/brother-in-law and built that for them. He said would you like to adopt a new brother?, hahaha. He's doing work on his home and would be glad to have me around. That was a wonderful and quick-humored compliment : )

Marianne is doing ok, village.

A bit bumpy in the aftermath but She will be heading home later next week.

I came across some information last night that sort of tied up some loose ends for me. Thoughts are not what I understood them to be all my life, and they do not always originate where I assumed. I’ve known this since I explored this a while back. This led to an examination of my own thoughts versus all the thoughts that inhabit my mind.

There seem to be several aspects to this: the origin of thoughts, the nature of thoughts, and the destination of thoughts. I've been reading The Nature of Personal Reality, and Seth has added another facet - the result of thoughts.

The origin of thoughts is the mind, yes. But if they are in my head, my mind, did they necessarily originate there, in my own mind? No.

And are thoughts a problem? Yes, actually, they can be, depending on whose they are and what beliefs they are based on. I have been working very hard, and it is hard work let me tell you, to identify what is in my own mind. Weeding out what isn’t mine has been an important step in finding out who I Am.

I hope this makes sense. It does to me, but then I haven’t had coffee yet…

Yes, the unwanted thoughts tend to become increasingly blatant. One I often get walking down the street prompts me to step into that oncoming vehicle, especially if it's a bus or a nice big truck. So yes, you have to be careful.

As they aren't alive per se. most need human intervention in order for them to fullfil there purpose. either by a human acting on the thought or by a human deconstructing the original pattern and release it.

it makes sense to me, too. So you are not alone.

The thoughts that count are of course the ones which you have consciously created, and from which you hope to get results.
All the other thoughts, which spring from the huge database from your instinctive and emotional body, and are not yet sorted, can be compared to the box of pastels an artist might pick from, before doing a drawing.
So you might look at them as tools.
They can be quite distracting as they don't tend to lie like packed sardines in a box...and instead they dance about to get the attention to the lower chakras...as in neediness. Nothing wrong with that, but there are limits to be placed, the way you can distinguish the cries of a baby that hasn't been fed, as opposed to a baby that just wants more and more attention, and never ceases in it's demands.

But the higher mind is where creativity needs to be in the final process stages,
with a conscious search for the statement you wish to make.
Then you have found your identity. (At least for the moment)
Later on you may want to revise it, but without the freedom to search and experiment,
and then express, there can be no higher consciousness attained.

You are no longer just reacting to the demands of others, but becoming a conscious creator.

Well, eelco, I am having a difficult time putting this into words. I will try because of course I adore you hahaha. I tried to express this last night and I ended up with a mumbo jumbo that made little sense.

Here, I will set this out as a theory, though I will tell you I resonate with this, so it is a Truth for me.

Mind was a regulator, a tool. Used to make determinations, regulate the amount of light body that can come into the physical body, access inner and outer knowledge, judge the safety of situations in ordinary reality (the stove is hot, don't touch it.)

Through living in this physical reality, beliefs began to form. Not only was the stove hot, the belief was born that this world is not a safe place. So thoughts that came about after this belief was formed, were based on a false belief. They were tainted. Still, they were produced, and popped right out of the mind.

If I follow the trajectory of the thought, in theory, it would go outside of my mind and attach to the other thoughts floating around like small bubbles. Enough thoughts do this, and the bubble, over time, is huge. It becomes a huge sewer of thoughts, produced by but also becoming part of mass consciousness.

Then what? Then a particular thought within the mass consciousness thought bubble, or sewer, finds the human mind to be quite readily accepting. In and out the sewage goes, sometimes a blatant false thought can pop in, like auracaria said, or sometimes it can be less obviously false but still intrusive.

After a while, following this life cycle of a thought, many thoughts may attract like thoughts, and many thoughts find the mind fertile ground. At some point, a person can feel like he's losing sanity because they realize their mind is so full of thoughts that they get no peace at all. Not only is the quantity of thought(s) overwhelming, but the nature of the thought(s) foreign.

Based on all of that, and my own experience weeding out what is mine and what is not, what is based on beliefs and what is based on the true nature of reality, I can understand why I have felt like I was losing my **** over the past year or two.

I honestly believe that there is nothing wrong with having beliefs.
It is when a belief has outgrown it's usefulness and needs to be replaced and the person stays stuck-
fearing change- that problems arise.

But would you ever leave your home if you didn't believe that the road you will be traveling on, is clear?
All of our actions carry with them an initial belief and even trust.

That's because instead of seeing beliefs in terms of right (correct) or wrong, you are presenting them in terms of usefulness. If something works, if only for a time, it is not right then wrong, it is useful, then not so useful. And maybe, like a knife that has gone blunt through use, it can be sharpened?

It seems to all point to knowing where the thoughts come from, and what the beliefs are. I mean, I can't count the times I have traced some emotion, thought, or belief to something erroneous from childhood. Or something from religion. Or something from a completely unknown origin. That seems to be key.

Now where did that thought come from.. Not that I mind mind you..
As you know I am sort of dabbling into buddhism at the moment. Where in vipassana meditation the origin of thoughts are not followed to there root/origin but just seen as arising and passing on there own accord.
