Dark Money Documentary Exposes Koch Brothers’ Spending Secrets

    US

    By Brandon Baker, EcoWatch – May 20, 2014 - http://tinyurl.com/p9eq9sj

Just two years after Brave New Films released Koch Brothers Exposed, the company returns with a 2014 edition of the documentary. While the Kochs’ political spending habits haven’t changed much since then, they’re all the more emboldened by the Supreme Court’s historic McCutcheon v. FEC ruling.

With individual donors no longer facing a cap on political contributions, the dark money floodgates are entirely open.

That puts a new spin on Brave New Films’ hour-long examination of Charles and Dave Koch, who coincidentally happen to be tied fourth place on the Forbes 400 list.

“Koch Brothers Exposed: 2014 Edition delves even deeper into where their money is going, who their money is hurting and how much they are making during this whole process leading up to the 2014 elections,” Brave New Films writes on its website.

Robert Greenwald and Brave New Films premiered the film last week in conjunction with a Congressional press briefing featuring U.S. House of Representatives Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

As the above trailer points out, the Koch’s wealth and clout aren’t the issue. It’s how they use those tools.

The Kochs have long supported many of the legislators who introduce and push through legislation that keeps fossil fuels alive despite their damaging effects on the environment.

Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia have been seen at Koch-sponsored events. Attorney Ted Olson, who represented Citizens United in the 2010 spending decision that helped the GOP claim the House majority, is now the Kochs’ legal representation.

“The Kochs use the law they helped to write to spend millions more in their efforts to buy the public policies they want,” says a narrator in another trailer for the documentary.

The end of that trailer ends with Reid asking a question that should make any environmental advocate pause.

“Looks like the Koch Brothers already bought the House. They should buy the Senate,” the Nevada senator said. “And what’s next? They gonna buy a president?”

Here’s a preview the film-makers prepared for the Press:

Oh my ears and whiskers, how late it's getting!

Head of the IMF Christine Lagarde in court charged with embezzlement and fraud

    23 May 2013 France

The head of the International Monetary Fund arrived in the dock of a Paris courtroom today as she braced herself to be formally charged with embezzlement and fraud.

Christine Lagarde’s humiliation is not only a massive personal blow which could lead to her resignation, but one which will plunge the world’s banking system into further ignominy.

The clearly nervous 57-year-old said nothing to reporters as she entered the Court of Justice of the Republic, a special tribunal set up to judge the conduct of France’s government ministers, shortly after 8.30am.

Lagarde faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in jail if found guilty of the very serious charges.

It was when she was President Nicolas Sarkozy’s finance minister that she is said to have authorised a 270 million pounds payout to one of his prominent supporters, so abusing her government position.

The money went to Bernard Tapie, a convicted football match fixer and tax dodger who supported Lagarde and Sarkozy’s UMP party.

It came after Dominque Strauss-Kahn, another senior French politician, was sacked as IMF chief following allegations that he attempted to rape a chambermaid in a New York hotel.

Ms Lagarde began campaigning to succeed Mr Strauss-Kahn soon after his arrest for the alleged crime.

But now it is Ms Lagarde, a lawyer and retired synchronised swimming star, who is facing a long court process of her own, as well as a possible jail sentence.

The scandal will not only pile further shame on France’s political class, but worry politicians and bankers desperately trying to resolve the global financial crisis.

Mr Tapie, the former head of adidas in France, claims he was cheated out of millions by Credit Lyonnais bank when the sports kit empire was sold in 1993.

In 2007, Ms Largarde ended the epic dispute by ordering a panel of judges to arbitrate and, in turn, they awarded Tapie the damages.

Opposition MPs were furious, with former presidential candidate Francois Bayrou accusing Ms Lagarde of ‘dipping into the taxpayers’ pocket for a private beneficiary.’

Mr Strauss-Kahn’s Socialist Party also accused Ms Lagarde of improper conduct, pointing to the fact that Mr Tapie was a vocal supporter of Sarkozy.

Ms Lagarde’s lawyer, Yves Repiquet, said the inquiry was ‘in no way incompatible’ with her new job, and expected the case to be dismissed.

Ms Lagarde denies any wrongdoing, saying before today’s court appearance: ‘If it’s decided to continue with this inquiry it won’t be particularly surprising. Personally, it doesn’t worry me at all – I didn’t benefit personally’.

But it has been widely reported in the French media that investigators intend to charge her with fraud and embezzlement.

Le Monde said that magistrates had already written to Mrs Lagarde to tell her that she should not expect any special treatment because of her high-profile international job.
Oh my ears and whiskers, how late it's getting!

    The Bilderberg 2014 Guest List

by Majestic on May 27, 2014 in News
Perhaps preempting the usual criticism of secrecy by the likes of Alex Jones and others who picket Bilderberg Group meeting places and try to identify the arrival of notable guests, the organization has released the invited guest list for its annual meeting, to be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, from 29 May to 1 June 2014. Of course no doubt there will be those who claim that there will be attendees of the meetings who are not on this list, so they’ll still be outside looking into the limousines.

    BernankeLeavingBilderberg2008Even more helpfully, there’s a published agenda:

The key topics for discussion this year include:
    Is the economic recovery sustainable?
Who will pay for the demographics?
    Does privacy exist?
How special is the relationship in intelligence sharing?
Big shifts in technology and jobs
The future of democracy and the middle class trap
    China’s political and economic outlook
The new architecture of the Middle East
    Ukraine
    What next for Europe?

Is it the Bilderberg conference – or conspiracy?

Conspiracy theorists may chuckle when they learn a debate entitled “Does Privacy Exist?” is to feature at this year’s Bilderberg conference, the notoriously secretive gathering of the world’s most powerful bankers, politicians and business people.

There may be a further shaking of heads when they discover one of the participants at the heavily fortified, five-star Marriott Hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark, will be Keith Alexander, the former director of the National Security Agency (NSA), which was embarrassed by the mass-surveillance revelations leaked by Edward Snowden. In fairness to the Bilderberg, the organisers of this year’s conference – which starts on Thursday – have made efforts to be more transparent by publishing a list of all the prime ministers, chief executives and military chiefs in attendance, as well as the topics up for discussion.

Chancellor George Osborne and his Labour counterpart, Ed Balls, are among the hand-picked group of British politicians who will visit Copenhagen to hob-nob with the global elite behind closed doors.

Other guests from the political sphere include the former “Third Man” of New Labour, Lord Mandelson, the current International Development Secretary, Justine Greening, and the veteran American foreign policy expert, Henry Kissinger.

Billionaire captains of industry who landed invitations include the heads of Shell, BP, Airbus, HSBC, Saab, AXA, Google, and Linkedin. They will sit alongside key global powerbrokers such as Christine Lagarde, the head of the International Monetary Fund, and senior officials from the European Central Bank.

The chairmen from Goldman Sachs and Lazards will perhaps reflect on how their investment banks “advised” Whitehall over the controversial flotation of Royal Mail, which left the UK taxpayer £1bn out of pocket.

Keeping a discreet eye over the exchanges will be the intelligence chiefs such as Mr Alexander from the United States and Sir John Sawers, the head of MI6, who was pictured on Facebook in his swimming trunks in 2009.

Items on the agenda include “The future of democracy and the middle-class trap”, “The new architecture of the Middle East” and the major geopolitical crisis of the moment: “Ukraine”. The secretive nature of the Bilderberg Conference has triggered suspicions that the event is used to shape global policy at the expense of democratic oversight. The idea of the euro was said to have been spawned at one meeting in the Nineties.

Paul Flynn, Labour MP for Newport West, asked a series of parliamentary questions about Bilderberg last year when the conference was held at a five-star hotel near Watford. He told The Independent: “I don’t regard the Bilderberg as a great threat but we would all like to know what is going on with these things. Secrecy inspires concern.”

Despite its new efforts at transparency, the conference is still acutely sensitive about radical infiltration. On Tuesday night, three journalists – self-styled “InfoWarriors” – were arrested by Danish police after they tried to ambush the organisers outside the Marriott.

Unfortunately for Hannah Borno, a British freelance journalist staying in the hotel, she was spotted exchanging words with the “InfoWarriors” earlier in the day, which caused her stay to be prematurely cut short. She said: “As my husband and I prepared to go to bed we were confronted by a hotel member of staff and a member of security. They said we had been seen talking to some people earlier who had been asked to leave, and for the safety of the staff they had been advised to ask us to leave.”

Most definitely whitewash, but this one isn't going to go away as it's so transparently a travesty. War crimes lawyers continue to sharpen their knives in the background. The great majority of politicians (apart from Robin Cook who inconveniently had a sudden heart attack on a mountain) and media were compliant in the call for war, and they know it. Arrests on day...

Iraq war whitewash: Grieving families' fury as Cabinet Secretary cooks up shabby deal to keep letters and calls between Blair and Bush secret

Agreement reached to publish 'gist and quotes' of notes between leaders

Material includes 25 notes and more than 130 records of conversations

Chilcot report could now be published in the run up to next year's election

Father of soldier killed in Iraq said 'it will be open wound until the day I die'

The Iraq War inquiry was condemned as a whitewash last night after more than 150 crucial messages from Tony Blair to George W Bush were censored.

Cabinet Secretary Sir Jeremy Heywood has vetoed the release of the letters and phone calls in the run-up to the 2003 conflict, officials revealed.

In them, Mr Blair is said to have promised the US President: 'You know, George, whatever you decide to do, I'm with you.'

The decision raises the possibility that the long-delayed findings of the £10million inquiry will be published before the general election.

The official reason for the censorship is that publication would deter prime ministers from speaking freely in private.

But critics said it was a shabby compromise that could fatally undermine public confidence in the findings.

Families of some of the 179 British soldiers killed in the conflict 11 years ago said last night they felt betrayed by the decision.

They believe the letters would reveal the real reason why Mr Blair dragged Britain into the catastrophic war to topple Saddam Hussein...........

The move follows two and a half years of wrangling between the Iraq inquiry and Whitehall officials over the publication of 25 letters sent by Mr Blair to President Bush and the transcripts of 130 phone calls between the two men.

In a letter yesterday, inquiry chairman Sir John Chilcot confirmed his long-awaited report would publish only ‘the gist’ of Mr Blair’s messages to Mr Bush.

The US president’s replies will not be published in any form.

Mr Blair was consulted over what to make public as were the US authorities, who objected to the release of confidential conversations involving the former president.

The deal stands in stark contrast to other major inquiries, including the recent phone-hacking inquiry, when private messages were subject to the full glare of public scrutiny.

Government sources last night defended the decision, saying that releasing the Blair/Bush messages would limit the ability of future prime ministers to speak freely with world leaders for fear of their discussions being made public.

One source close to the talks said the US government had also blocked any hope of full publication.

‘It’s as simple as the Americans saying no,’ the source said.

Former Liberal Democrat leader Sir Menzies Campbell called the decision an ‘unsatisfactory compromise’, and warned that the deal on what can be published could be ‘subject to a whole variety of interpretations’ by the civil service.

Former Labour MP Andrew MacKinlay described the inquiry as a ‘sham’.

Mr MacKinlay, a member of the Common foreign affairs committee at the time of the war, said: ‘I am not surprised that Chilcot has surrendered. It is a bad, bad day for democracy and justice.

‘The Establishment of this country and the security and intelligence services have won again. Truth has lost out. We were lied to as a country time and time again on Iraq. The lies endure.’

Labour MP John McDonnell said: ‘This confirms all the suspicions people had that the inquiry will be a whitewash. Unless there’s full and open transparency the credibility of this inquiry will be completely undermined.’

Gone missing: Tony Blair's "I'll back the Iraq war whatever" letter to George Bush

    Adam Withnall 18 May 2014.

The Chilcot Iraq inquiry farce continues with Tony Blair blocking the publication of letters that confirm what everyone knows: he lied and thousands of Iraqis died.

A letter sent by Tony Blair to George Bush that is “critical” to the Iraq Inquiry has gone missing from official White House records, it has been reported.

The publication of secret correspondence between the UK and US administrations in the build-up to the Iraq War has become a major stumbling block for Sir John Chilcot’s inquiry into the 2003 invasion.

While the Cabinet Office has said privately that it wants to release as many of the Blair-Bush communications as possible, there is one letter which lawyers at the White House say they have “not been able to locate”.

The letter, which was quoted from directly in Andrew Rawnsley’s book The End of the Party following interviews with David Manning, Blair’s foreign policy advisor, and Sir Christopher Meyer, then Britain’s ambassador to the US, predates the March 2003 Commons vote on whether Britain was to go to war.

In its opening sentence, Mr Blair is said to have told the US President: “You know, George, whatever you decide to do, I'm with you.” The letter was reportedly hand-delivered by Manning to Bush’s national security adviser Condoleezza Rice.

Yet according to reports in the Mail on Sunday, a British source involved in the ongoing efforts to get the Bush-Blair records released said: “The lawyers are taking months to evaluate the letters and decide whether to release them.

“However, they claim not to have been able to locate the ‘with you whatever’ letter.”

Though Mr Blair said after 9/11 that Britain stood “shoulder to shoulder” with the US, and in 2011 he told Chilcot that he had been quite open about his support for Bush in dealing with Saddam Hussein, he denied the “with you whatever” wording.

And more than three years after the inquiry completed its public hearings, the letter has been described as “absolutely critical” among all the correspondence in determining whether or not Mr Blair gave Mr Bush a “blank cheque” on Britain’s cooperation.

Ms Lagarde denies any wrongdoing, saying before today’s court appearance: ‘If it’s decided to continue with this inquiry it won’t be particularly surprising. Personally, it doesn’t worry me at all – I didn’t benefit personally’.
No, she probably didn't benefit personally; she was acting as a minister under Sarkozy, who did benefit, Tapie being a campaign funder for one thing, or allegedly so, the details get a bit hard to follow. But Lagarde should still be worried; she may well go to jail as the fall guy. And Sarkozy should be worried too; he may well go to jail as the main perpetrator.

More on the Bilderberg circus or speculation on it....

Bilderberg Agenda Revealed: Elite Desperate to Rescue Unipolar World

Anti-EU revolution, Ukraine crisis threaten to derail global government

The 2014 Bilderberg meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark is taking place amidst a climate of panic for many of the 120 globalists set to attend the secretive confab, with Russia’s intransigence on the crisis in Ukraine and the anti-EU revolution sweeping Europe posing a serious threat to the unipolar world order Bilderberg spent over 60 years helping to build.

Inside sources confirm to Infowars that the elite conference, which will take place from Thursday onwards at the five star Marriott Hotel, will center around how to derail a global political awakening that threatens to hinder Bilderberg’s long standing agenda to centralize power into a one world political federation, a goal set to be advanced with the passage of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), which will undoubtedly be a central topic of discussion at this year’s meeting.

The TTIP represents an integral component of Bilderberg’s attempt to rescue the unipolar world by creating a “world company,” initially a free trade area, which would connect the United States with Europe. Just as the European Union started as a mere free trade area and was eventually transformed into a political federation which controls upwards of 50 per cent of its member states’ laws and regulations with total contempt for national sovereignty and democracy, TTIP is designed to accomplish the same goal, only on a bigger scale.

The deal is being spearheaded by Obama’s U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman, a Wall Street insider and a CFR member, Bilderberg’s sister organization. Froman is simultaneously helping to build another block of this global government, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, which is a similar project involving Asian countries.

Given that Bilderberg schemed to create the Euro single currency as far back as 1955 (Bilderberg chairman Étienne Davignon bragged about how the Euro single currency was a brainchild of the Bilderberg in 2009 interview), the results of the European elections are sure to have stirred outright alarm amongst Bilderberg globalists who are aghast that their planned EU superstate is being eroded as a result of a populist resistance mainly centered around animosity towards uncontrolled immigration policies.

In Denmark itself, the buzz is centered around Morten Messerschmidt and the Danish People’s party, which won 27% of the vote in the Euro elections and doubled its number of MEPs. Although some are wary of Messerschmidt’s far right inclinations, his success reflects a general resentment not only in Denmark but across Europe towards immigration and the welfare state, concerns that the EU has only exasperated.

Meanwhile in France, Marine Le Pen is carving out a role as the face of a conservative movement that threatens “to break up one united Europe,” with her European election win being described as an “earthquake” that has rattled the political heart of Europe.

Voters in the United Kingdom also delivered a thumping rejection of the EU and in turn Bilderberg with the success of Nigel Farage and UKIP, a Euroskeptic triumph some are labeling the “most extraordinary” election result for 100 years.

As well as TTIP and the fallout from the European election disaster, Bilderberg will be tackling a number of other key issues, most of which will revolve around the continued effort to centralize economic power under several different guises, including a carbon tax paid directly to the United Nations, with the financial hit being taken by individuals as big companies are granted special “waivers” that will allow them to continue to pollute.

The rumbling crisis in Ukraine and the relationship between Russia and NATO will also be a focal point of Bilderberg 2014. Globalists now consider Vladimir Putin to have ostracized Russia from the new world order because he dared to “challenge the international system,” as John Kerry put it.

Bilderberg will discuss fears that Putin is intent on constructing an alternative world order based around the BRICS countries, a “multi-polar” system that would devastate the dollar as the world reserve currency and also heavily dilute the current US-EU-NATO power axis.

Infowars reporters will be on the ground all this week to cover the 2014 Bilderberg Group conference in Copenhagen, Denmark.

9/11 & Israeli Apartheid, The Kiss of Death for World Zionism

    … by Preston James

Full article and videos at the link, and a few extracts below. More shifts in power on the horizon?

“The turning of the tide and a change in the “prevailing winds” in America has been caused by the realization inside the US Military High Command and loyal segments of American Intel that 9/11 was a Gladio-style, inside-job, stand-down, false-flag attack done by the World Zionists.

“This realization inside the US Military High Command by America-firsters and those loyal to America only has triggered a major lane change of US Policy towards Israel and an aversion to fighting any new wars on behalf of the WZs and Israel.

“A wooden stake is now being driven through the vampire heart of the world’s largest parasite, the demonic WZ/IZCS.

“Due to some recent “changes” in the high command of the US Military and American Intel, you will soon see more and more effects of a wooden stake being driven through the heart of the WZ/IZCS vampire and a near complete or complete disempowering of the WZ/IZCS espionage fronts inside America as well as the disempowering and perhaps demise of the WZ controlled NSA.”

"Payback is always a bitch and this time it’s going to be a super-bitch.

It was the abject arrogance of the WZs and their belief that their control was so total over American institutions of Government that they could never be exposed or challenged. They drastically underestimated the American human spirit and innate intelligence of many Americans and will eventually pay a very big price for all they have done murdering Americans and for using American Soldiers as cannon-fodder in their Proxy Wars for profit and acquisition. Payback is now on its way and it will be a real bitch for these WZ/IZCS international criminals and anti-human scum.

Are the Intel Cowboys back at it, and are they going at the true source of all major world conflicts this time instead of attacking the symptoms such as Nazi fascism, Japanese Imperialism, or Communism, etc.?

As you ponder these important issues just ask yourself if the recent European attention focused to the blatant, extreme injustices of Israeli Apartheid against Palestinians was just a coincidence. Just maybe it was the covert handiwork of the Intel Cowboys who are now doing the impossible to take the hell caused by 9/11 back to the originators of it all. Maybe someday, sooner than later as secrecy ends and everything becomes known, you will find out for sure. Could it be that the grip of the World Zionists has been so complete, so total that the only way to get at them is through covert means? And are we seeing that in progress now as their whole system is starting to unravel worldwide."

PUBLISH THE IRAQ WAR INQUIRY RESULTS NOW
    petition

    Dear Sir John Chilcot,

Please publish the results of your report without delay and name those who have so far been obstructing its publication.
    Why is this important?

We now have the answer to the second part above and therein is the reason for the delay:-

"Cabinet boss must not decide on Iraq papers", says Owen:
David Owen, former Foreign Secretary demands Sir Jeremy Heywood is stripped of responsibility because he worked closely with Tony Blair

Inquiry chairman Sir John Chilcot said last week that his probe has stalled indefinitely because Sir Jeremy is blocking the release of correspondence

Sir Jeremy was Principal Private Secretary to Tony Blair between 1999-2003

    ****************************************************

    CHILCOT WILL RELEASE THE ‘GIST’
It’s just another way of saying “we will withhold important information”
It would obviously be much better for us to see all of the documentation between Blair and Bush in the run-up to the invasion but the most important document we need, if it exists, is the one where Blair agreed to assist Bush in the attack come what may. That information is absolutely no threat to security but of course if it is a threat to Blair we may never see it.

If an 'independent' committee has sight of documents that clearly show that a Prime Minister or any minister for that matter, for their own reasons, committed our country to a course of action that had not been fully approved or discussed and which resulted in a massive loss of life for hundreds of thousands of innocent people, without question that information should be released. Why should those documents be for the eyes of the committee only and not for the rest of us when in that situation the minister in question has clearly acted incorrectly?. It means that they are above the law and can transgress with impunity, we are supposed to be a democracy!

The excuse that the documents cannot be released for either security or confidentiality reasons is totally spurious. The conversations between Blair and Bush are about a specific and unique situation. They were not conversations about the price of fish, they were conversations that resulted in Britain engaging in and waging a war of aggression against a country that was absolutely no imminent threat to us - a war crime.

Many believe the British people were lied to over the reasons for taking the country to war and those in power at the time know it and so do the families here and in Iraq whose relatives were killed as a result.

We must have a full and complete report describing how and why our Government decided to invade another sovereign country in our name. It has been deliberately stalled for far too long, we need it NOW

    *********************************************
In February of 2011, after more than a year of investigation, the Chilcot Inquiry into Britain's role in the invasion of Iraq concluded. It is outrageous that today, more than three years after the end of the inquiry, the public has still not been given the conclusion. What is equally reprehensible is, apart from the occasional meek entreatment to Chilcot by some politicians to get on with it, hardly any body of influence seems to be pressing for the results to be finalised and published.

The day Britain began its attack on Iraq was one of the blackest days in the history of our nation because, despite massive public opposition, our Government, with the full support of the parliamentary opposition, went ahead with the invasion, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent men women and children and a major increase in terrorism.

To their eternal disgrace, there are many in the 'establishment' and in political circles who supported the attack and in whose interest it is to keep kicking the report into the long grass.

Consequently, the only group who can try and bring about publication of the report is us. I would therefore like 38 Degrees, through its members, to campaign and pressurise Chilcot into releasing the report immediately. We must show that we will not be treated as inconsequential bystanders and be ignored and humoured as though we are simply an annoyance. We must force those we elect and nominate, to do the job we pay them to do and not simply make up their own forever changing timetable.

The British public were treated with contempt when the Government and the parliamentary opposition chose to ignore us and take us into an unprovoked war of aggression, the worst type of war crime. We must not let the Inquiry into that disgraceful episode also treat us with contempt.
Oh my ears and whiskers, how late it's getting!

Shock As King Juan Carlos of Spain Abdicates

Battered by a scandal surrounding his daughter, the Spanish monarchy makes the ultimate gamble as the once-popular King Juan Carlos abdicates

King Juan Carlos of Spain has abdicated, Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy has announced.

Photographs of the king signing the official papers, together with a letter announcing his decison, were released by the royal family on Twitter.

The surprise announcement comes after a dramatic decline in the popularity of King Juan Carlos, 76, who has ruled since 1975.

First, the King was discovered to have traveled to Africa on a big-game hunting expedition, shooting elephant in private game reserves, and the past year has seen wave after wave of negative publicity as his daughter, the Infanta Cristina, and her husband have been the focus of a long-running corruption investigation.

Juan Carlos's son Prince Felipe, 45, will take over the throne.

Juan Carlos’s resignation as King marks an extraordinary gamble on the part of the Spanish monarchy.

Despite the recent scandals, the Spanish retain a huge affection for their King as it was he who bloodlessly delivered the country from the nightmare of the Franco dictatorship, which ruled Spain from 1939 to 1975.

Toward the end of his life, Franco handed over power to Juan Carlos, the hereditary king, which he thought would be a way of maintaining an absolute, non-democratic state.

However, Juan Carlos effectively tricked him. During his lifetime he espoused pro-Franco views, but was secretly meeting with the liberal opposition and political dissenters, and two days after Franco’s death he announced far reaching democratic reforms.

“His majesty, King Juan Carlos, has just communicated to me his will to give up the throne—I’m convinced this is the best moment for change,” Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said this morning.

Juan Carlos is the second European monarch to abdicate in just over a year. In April last year, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands handed the throne to her son Prince Willem-Alexander after 33 years.

We assume Prince Charles is currently glued to the news feed.

The abdication has caught most observers by surprise, but it was predicted by Lars Hovbakke Sørensen, a lecturer in European royalty at the University of Copenhagen, when he spoke to the Daily Beast’s Nico Hines earlier this year.

“Cristina is seen as being close to the king; her problems are the king’s problems,” he told The Daily Beast. “I wouldn’t be surprised if King Juan Carlos chooses to resign in the coming months, and hands over the throne to Crown Prince Felipe in an attempt to save the monarchy.”

Comment by dwilcock on June 3, 2014 @ 2:23 am

It’s quite a challenge to stay focused and positive in the midst of all these sweeping changes. There are so many stories intersecting at the same time that it’s difficult to track them all.

In case you didn’t see this yet there was a major revelation about the government being able to drive your car by remote control if it was made in 2008 or after. They didn’t get into technical details of when this started, but remote-control car hacking was demonstrated in a Motherboard video that went viral on the front page of Digg.com:

    http://www.divinecosmos.com/index.ph...ts-car-hacking

There’s much more that needs to be / should be covered. It appeared the US was going to be forced to sign a massive deal to reform the global financial system as of April 10-11th but they refused. The problem, then, was that there was no means to immediately force them to change their minds. Instead, the response is taking more time. Perhaps the Alliance didn’t expect such a blatant move.

Now it appears that the massive equity in the Collateral Accounts is going to be used to create an alternative financial system that will dwarf the IMF and World Bank in size, with the full backing of BRICS and other allies. This will be a gold and commodity-backed currency. Once people start using this for international trade instead of the dollar, it’s curtains for the FRN.

Also, perhaps the single biggest reason we haven’t seen arrests yet is the Cabal will destroy the financial system and thus take the planet down with them. There has been an urgent need all along to figure out “how to pay for it” once the hammer comes down. That’s why this new bank is so significant. The Cabal knows they’re out of time.

It is not clear how this will all manifest and time estimates are inherently risky — but it does appear that the alliance intends to have the bank launched by some time next month. I have other sources independently saying Germany will be a part of it as well as potentially France, right from the start.

It also appears the US is in position to make a switch from Federal Reserve notes to Treasury notes. The new money keeps getting counterfeited by the Iranians almost as soon as they design it, and apparently fully eight different designs have been made and printed only to have to start over yet again — just in the last 2-3 years. This means 1s, 5s, 10s, 20s, 50s and 100s have been made on eight completely different occasions with different designs for each, only to be shredded and to start over yet again.

There was talk that a one-time devaluation of US currency would occur, where if you were stashing cash (and only by amounts up to 10K per day), you could trade in FRNs for TNs if you did it within a week, and not lose any value. The gossip was that after a week the FRNs would be worth 35% less and then after 6 or 8 months they would drop by another 35%.

All money actually held in the bank would just convert from FRNs to TNs with no devaluation whatsoever. This move would convert the “black cash” held by criminals, drug dealers, et cetera into worthless paper and also eliminate what is apparently a massive problem with Iranian counterfeit, of very high quality. Apparently 2/3rds of all 100s in circulation are Iranian counterfeit bills and it’s a huge problem.

The latest gossip I’ve heard is that the FRN to TN conversion will not involve any devaluation — at least for those with their money in the bank. I am not sure about any of this — it’s only what various credible sources are reporting.

The US signing this deal on April 10th and 11th would have been a nice, neat, organized story, and instead what we have is a lot messier — a financial war reaching critical mass, where we really don’t know precisely what will happen or when it will happen. However, I do believe we will see the dam break and a great deal of suppressed knowledge will come out all at once.

It was just revealed that FOX only has 177,000 people watching in the key 25-54 advertising demographic. MSNBC is only getting 103,000 and CNN is down to 99,000.

    http://www.politico.com/blogs/media/...93.html?hp=r13

Literally, some of the articles and videos we are doing in this community are actually surpassing corporate media in terms of visibility. And yet, FOX is still routinely discussed in mainstream media as if it were significant. 177,000 people is such a small number I was gob-smacked.

The “left versus right” paradigm is ridiculous, and was a corporate manipulation from the beginning. As I’ve said before it’s basically Town vs. Country — an archetype that is very ancient and undoubtedly plays out in many societies all throughout time and space.

People in the Town are exposed to a variety of cultures, ideas and philosophies. They see different races routinely, are less likely to have prejudice, and are more likely to depend upon others for a variety of their basic needs.

People in the Country typically live on a private farm, are extremely self-sufficient, and are much more apt to adhere to traditional, old-fashioned beliefs.

Essentially what has happened in America, in the simplest terms, is the coasts have become Town (other than below the Mason-Dixon Line on the EC) and the middle has become Country.

However, it is safe to say that truth journalists like Alex Jones are now being seen by far more people in the Country than Fox. They are waking up very quickly. This is a truly exciting time — if you can handle it!

    - David

Serious Fraud Office looking into currency market manipulation claims

UK agency says it has yet to decide whether to follow US justice department and launch criminal investigation into allegations

The Serious Fraud Office is examining information related to a global investigation into the possible manipulation of currency markets, although it has yet to open a criminal investigation.

"The SFO is receiving and examining complex data on this topic. If and when we open a criminal investigation, that decision will be announced in the usual way," the head of the agency, David Green, said on Thursday.

Authorities around the world are already investigating allegations of manipulation in the $5tn a day foreign exchange market. Among those looking into the claims is the US justice department, which launched a criminal investigation last October.

Globally, about 35 people in the currency markets have been suspended, placed on leave or fired by financial institutions, which are also investigating allegations of wrongdoing internally.

None have yet been charged with any wrongdoing.

The investigations, which are being run in parallel with an inquiry into alleged fixing of benchmark interest rates, show banks are still struggling to control some trader behaviour despite tighter regulatory scrutiny following the 2008-2009 financial crisis.

Authorities in the US, Britain, Switzerland, Germany and Singapore are examining whether traders from different banks worked together to influence currency prices, and also whether they traded ahead of their own customers or failed to accurately represent to customers how they were determining the prices.

Well if the Shard building in London is a dastardly cabal edifice - as some say - it's not doing very well. It got struck by lightning dramatically in the last few weeks (like the Vatican), and now has a fire.

    5 June UK

London's tallest building, the Shard, evacuated due to smoke

(Reuters) - London's tallest building, the Shard, was evacuated on Thursday morning after smoke started billowing from the basement of the 87-storey skyscraper, a fire brigade spokesman said.

The alarm was raised about 1030 BST and about 900 people were evacuated from the multi-purpose landmark tower. By 1100 the fire brigade said the smoke appeared to be dissipating.

"We are investigating the source of smoke coming from the basement. There is no suggestion at this time that it is an actual fire but the building has been evacuated as a caution," the brigade spokesman said, adding that seven fire engines were at the scene.

A police spokesman said there were no reports of any injuries or arrests.

The Shard, Western Europe's tallest skyscraper at about 310 metres (1,016 feet), was funded by Qatar's royal family and opened in 2012. Its office space is about 50 percent occupied.

The distinctive elongated glass-clad pyramid was designed by architect Renzo Piano and has 72 habitable storeys housing six companies including Qatar-based broadcaster Al Jazeera and the world's largest hospital group, Hospital Corporation of America.

New York-based investment bank Duff & Phelps, an intellectual property law firm, a venture capital group and an energy company are among the other tenants of the landmark tower that is situated near to the London Bridge train station.

Restaurants Oblix, Aqua Shard and Hutong moved into the tower last summer, and its top floors have become a tourist attraction in the capital, reserved for visitors who pay up to 30 pounds to get the highest view of London.

The Shard competes for business with other notable London skyscrapers such as the "Walkie Talkie" and the "Cheese Grater", nicknamed for the silhouettes they cast on the skyline.

‘Catching Fire’ Tower and London’s Shard Tower Illuminati symbolism

Posted By IlluminatiWatcher on Mar 7, 2013 (see pix and videos at link)

The poster for Hunger Games: Catching Fire shows Katniss and Peeta in front of the Capitol’s Hunger Games Tower. I can’t help but draw comparison between this tower and London’s Shard Tower. They look very similar:

The Shard is the tallest building in the EU and has a shape of a pyramid. It resembles an Egyptian obelisk which was believed to harness male phallic energy to those around it (hence the phallic shape). The Washington memorial was built with Freemasons and is the world’s tallest obelisk.

The architect for the London Shard was quoted as saying the building will be like:

“a shard of glass through the heart of historic London”

…effectively giving it the name of “The Shard.”

More horrors coming out from children's homes - this time in Ireland, run by nuns...

    Ireland

Mass septic tank grave 'containing the skeletons of 800 babies' at site of Irish home for unmarried mothers

Hundreds of babies and toddlers believed to be buried in Tuam, Co Galway

The site lies next to a former home for single mothers and their children

The children's home was run by Bon Secours nuns between 1925 and 1961

Children were malnourished and neglected, which caused many of deaths

They also died of TB, pneumonia, measles, convulsions and gastroenteritis

Relative of one missing child has filed complaint with local police, the gardai

The bodies of nearly 800 babies are believed to have been interred in a concrete tank beside a former home for unmarried mothers.

The dead babies are thought to have been secretly buried beside a home for single mothers and their children in County Galway, Ireland, over a period of 36 years.

It is suspected that 796 children were interred on unconsecrated ground without headstones or coffins next to the home run by the Bon Secours nuns in Tuam between 1925 and 1961.

Newly unearthed reports show that they suffered malnutrition and neglect, which caused the deaths of many, while others died of measles, convulsions, TB, gastroenteritis and pneumonia.

Cross Party Support For National Inquiry. (UK)

Former children’s minister Tim Loughton and Conservative backbencher Zac Goldsmith are calling for a national inquiry into historical cases of child sex abuse.

Goldsmith has co-ordinated a high-powered, cross-party group of MPs to sign a joint letter to Theresa May, home secretary, urging her to set up an independent panel to investigate repeated failures by police and other authorities in a wide variety of cases.

The seven MPs in the group also want the inquiry to investigate why crucial files, surveillance videos and other material has gone missing in relation to allegations against prominent people.

The MPs also include Tom Watson and Simon Danczuk, from Labour; Tessa Munt and John Hemming, Liberal Democrat; and the Green Party’s Caroline Lucas.

The seven want an investigation similar to the independent inquiry into Hillsborough, the football disaster of 1989. That inquiry was seen to have uncovered the truth about an episode that was mired in controversy and reflected especially badly on police.

Several inquiries have been set up in the wake of the exposure in 2012 of Jimmy Savile, the late BBC star, as a paedophile, but there has long been concern that these are too disparate.

    No Returning to G8: Russia

Russia said Wednesday that it was open for cooperation with major Western powers, but ruled out a return to the Group of Eight (G8), made up of the seven most industrialized nations, known as G7, and Russia.

“Such a format does not exist for now,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told a Russian radio station.

Russia would, however, continue to participate in the Group of 20, which includes the most developed and major developing countries of the world, Peskov said.

Leaders of G7 declared in March that they would boycott the G8 summit in Sochi, where they were scheduled to have met with Russia this week. Instead, they gathered in Brussels for a two-day G7 summit.

The expulsion of Russia from the G8 came three days after Crimea accession to Russia.

Peskov said Russian President Vladimir Putin will not have a bilateral meeting with US President Barack Obama even though both leaders are attending the 70th anniversary of D-Day Landings in France’s Normandy on Friday.

“We are not making such preparations … Participants of war memorial events will stay together, in one group,” Itar-Tass news agency quoted him as saying.

He, however, did not rule out possible brief talks between Putin and Ukrainian President-elect Petro Poroshenko.

The Kremlin earlier confirmed that Putin, on his first visit to a Western country since the start of the Ukraine crisis, would have separate meetings with British Prime Minister David Cameron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Normandy.
The US and EU have imposed travel bans and asset freezes on dozens of Russians over what they called Russia’s “meddling” in Ukraine’s affairs.

The European Union, however, would be troubled by Russia’s attempts to veer away from gas exports to the bloc by moving towards energy-hungry China.

Russia has had some success in diverting attention away from the troubling sanctions with the successful negotiations that led to the inking of a massive $400 billion gas deal with China last month and also the signing of the treaty to form the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) with Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus, a combined $2.7 trillion economy and vast energy resources.

Well if the Shard building in London is a dastardly cabal edifice - as some say - it's not doing very well. It got struck by lightning dramatically in the last few weeks (like the Vatican), and now has a fire.

Lockerbie bomber's family asks for review of his conviction in Scotland

CNN) -- The family of Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al Megrahi has applied for a review of his conviction in a Scottish court for the 1988 bombing of PanAm Flight 103.

Al Megrahi was found guilty in 2001 of the murders of the 259 passengers and crew on board the flight from London to New York, as well as those of 11 residents of the Scottish town of Lockerbie. He died in 2012 in Libya, having been released from prison in Scotland in 2009 on compassionate grounds because he had terminal cancer.

The Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission confirmed in a statement Thursday that it had received an application to review his conviction in the case.

Dr. Jim Swire, whose 23-year-old daughter Fiona was killed in the bombing, attended court to file the application on behalf of the al Megrahi family, the Commission said. He is also one of the applicants.

Swire does not believe al Megrahi was responsible for the bombing and is among a number of relatives of the victims who have been fighting for the evidence in the case to be re-examined in court.

Al Megrahi previously applied to the commission for a review of his conviction in 2003, and his case was referred to the High Court for a new appeal in 2007, the statement said. However, he subsequently dropped his appeal in 2009.

The commission, a body set up to investigate potential miscarriages of justice, will now look at the new application in order to make a decision about whether to accept it or not, a process that could take months.

If accepted, the application would then go through a review process in order to be sent either to the High Court or back to the applicant, who can then submit further representation.

Chief executive Gerard Sinclair said, "As it does in every case the Commission will now give careful consideration to this new application.

"I previously indicated last month that there are several important matters which will affect the timescale within which the Commission will be able to deal with this fresh application and subsequently, if there is to be a further review of this conviction, any such review will take some time to complete."

Vodafone reveals existence of secret wires that allow state surveillance

Wires allow agencies to listen to or record live conversations, in what privacy campaigners are calling a 'nightmare scenario'

Vodafone, one of the world's largest mobile phone groups, has revealed the existence of secret wires that allow government agencies to listen to all conversations on its networks, saying they are widely used in some of the 29 countries in which it operates in Europe and beyond.

The company has broken its silence on government surveillance in order to push back against the increasingly widespread use of phone and broadband networks to spy on citizens, and will publish its first Law Enforcement Disclosure Report on Friday . At 40,000 words, it is the most comprehensive survey yet of how governments monitor the conversations and whereabouts of their people.

The company said wires had been connected directly to its network and those of other telecoms groups, allowing agencies to listen to or record live conversations and, in certain cases, track the whereabouts of a customer. Privacy campaigners said the revelations were a "nightmare scenario" that confirmed their worst fears on the extent of snooping.

In Albania, Egypt, Hungary, India, Malta, Qatar, Romania, South Africa and Turkey, it is unlawful to disclose any information related to wiretapping or interception of the content of phone calls and messages including whether such capabilities exist.

"For governments to access phone calls at the flick of a switch is unprecedented and terrifying," said the Liberty director, Shami Chakrabarti. "[Edward] Snowden revealed the internet was already treated as fair game. Bluster that all is well is wearing pretty thin – our analogue laws need a digital overhaul."

In about six of the countries in which Vodafone operates, the law either obliges telecoms operators to install direct access pipes, or allows governments to do so. The company, which owns mobile and fixed broadband networks, including the former Cable & Wireless business, has not named the countries involved because certain regimes could retaliate by imprisoning its staff.

"Stress Test" Reviewed: Tim Geithner Is "A Grifter, A Petty Con Artist"

    Tyler Durden on 06/05/2014

    via Liberty Blitzkrieg blog,

Geithner is at heart a grifter, a petty con artist with the right manners and breeding to lie at the top echelons of American finance at a moment when the government and financial services industry needed someone to be the face of their multi-trillion dollar three card monte.

He’s going to make his money, now that he’s done living his life of fantastic power after his upbringing of remarkable mysterious privilege. After reading this book and documenting lie after lie after lie, I’m convinced that there’s more here than just a self-serving corrupt official. There’s an entire culture, of figures at Treasury, the Federal Reserve, in the entire Democratic Party elite structure, and in the world of journalism, a culture in which Geithner is seen as some sort of role model.

    - From Matt Stoller’s fantastic article published yesterday, The Con-Artist Wing of the Democratic Party

Timothy Geithner is likely to go down in American history as one of the most dangerous, destructive cronies to have ever wielded government power. The man is so completely and totally full of **** it’s almost impossible not to notice.

The last thing I’d ever want to do in my free time is read a lengthy book filled with Geithner lies and propaganda, so I owe a large debt of gratitude to former Congressional staffer Matt Stoller for doing it for me. Stoller simply tears Geither apart limb from limb, detailing obvious lies about the financial crisis, and even more interestingly, Geithner’s bizarre bio, replete with mysterious and inexplicable promotions into positions of power.

So without further ado, here are some excerpts from this excellent article. From Vice:

article at link - well worth a read.

    and snippets here:

I find it beyond coincidental that Tim Geithner’s father and Barack Obama’s mother both worked at the Ford Foundation in Indonesia at the same time.....

Ultimately, Geithner was a hit man for American democracy—and the middle class that sustained it. Geithner has acknowledged substantial fraud in the crisis, but he won’t even deign to answer why the administration did nothing about the individuals who perpetrated it. He doesn’t discuss distributional questions from the bailout. He sneers at the notion of justice. He argues for “anti-democratic” measures in a financial crisis, including emergency powers for the president similar to those the president has for national security..............

As a result, the liberal faction in the Democratic Party is beginning to grapple with what it means to have grifters setting the course for economic strategy. There is now a debate about whether and how to purge this toxic culture. Geithner probably wishes there weren’t, which is one reason he wrote the book. He actually has to try and justify the horror show he put on. Believe it or not, that’s progress. Next time there’s a crisis, if reformers learn anything from this book, it’s to make sure that there are no Geithner types anywhere near the levers of power.
