Default “We deprogram our ability to heal ourselves,” says Dr. Bruce Lipton

    Snippets:
    1. We’ve been so programed to devalue and disempower ourselves that we see ourselves as victims. Some frail biological entities, ripe for bacteria to eat us all up. Which is totally untrue.
    2. And the joke? Many people get well on the way to the doctors. Without having any treatment. And the reason is: they already had the ability to get well but the program step says, “Until you do this, the healing doesn’t start.” So we deprogram our ability to heal ourselves.
    3. We’re just average people. We have no extraordinary powers. Even healing isn’t one of our powers. That's a belief.
    4. What’s interesting is that we have an innate ability to heal ourselves. So you actually stall your own ability to heal yourself until you go to the doctor.
    5. We have to start from that belief and change these beliefs to who we really are. We are profoundly powerful people. We can walk across hot coals. A woman can lifted a car off an infant … Where’s the frail image come from? That’s a belief.

Segment break downs with quick links, and some paraphrased notes:

Can you explain the difference between Newtonian Physics and Quantum Physics and how they respectively view the world? @ 4:17

Can you explain how the viewpoint of Newtonian Physics limits our ability to heal our bodies? @ 8:29

Is positive thinking enough to change your life? @ 12:17
    • Problem? Having a positive thought does not in any way necessitate that those positive thoughts actually manifest themselves. There’s a piece that was left out…

How does our childhood programing effect our current health? @ 26:55
    • What do we acquire in that 0-6 year development? That we’re just average people. We have no extraordinary powers. Even healing isn’t one of our powers. Because every time we got sick, we were told we had to go to the doctor to get healed. That’s an experiential program. So what does my subconscious mind learn from this experience? Every time I’m sick I have to go to the doctors. Why? Apparently it’s the step before you get healed. So we build that into the program. What’s interesting is that we have an innate ability to heal ourselves. So you actually stall your own ability to heal yourself until you go to the doctor.

And the joke? Many people get well on the way to the doctors. Without having any treatment. And the reason is: they already had the ability to get well but the program step says, “Until you do this, the healing doesn’t start.” So we deprogram our ability to heal ourselves.
How does unconscious beliefs affect our health? @ 28:06
    • It’s based on our individual programs. Because we’ve been so programed to devalue and disempower ourselves that we see ourselves as victims. Some frail biological entities, ripe for bacteria to eat us all up. Which is totally untrue. So we have to start from that belief and change these beliefs to who we really are. We are profoundly powerful people. We can walk across hot coals. A woman can lifted a car off an infant … Where’s the frail image come from? That’s a belief.

In a book titled “Mind Over Medicine,” Lissa Rankin, MD discusses the healing abilities of our body.

She says, “ We’ve been led to believe that when we get sick it’s our genetics. Or it’s just bad luck – and doctors alone hold the keys to optimal health. For years, Lissa Rankin, M. D., believed the same. But when her own health started to suffer, and she turned to Western medical treatments, she found that they not only failed to help; they made her worse. So she decided to take matters into her own hands.

Though her research, Dr. Rankin discovered that the health care she had been taught to practice was missing something crucial: a recognition of the body’s innate ability to self-repair and an appreciation for how we can control these self-healing mechanisms with the power of the mind. In an attempt to better understand this phenomenon, she explored peer-reviewed medical literature and found evidence that the medical establishment had been proving that the body can heal itself for over 50 years.”

You can read the reviews on amazon.com and come to your own conclusions. I found it to be a fascinating and helpful book.

Dr. Lissa Rankin, "Mind Over Medicine: Scientific Proof You Can Heal Yourself”
    Published on Jul 19, 2013

While some mind-body medicine pioneers and New Age teachers talk about how we can heal ourselves, Dr. Lissa Rankin was a skeptical physician, trained in evidence-based academic medicine and raised by a closed-minded physician father.

But after witnessing patients who declined conventional medical treatment, only to experience spontaneous remissions from seemingly ""incurable"" illnesses, she couldn't deny the possibility that patients might hold within them the power to heal themselves. Her curiosity led her to dig deep into the medical literature to scientifically prove that the mind can heal the body.

Her search uncovered not only proof that you can heal yourself, but also the shocking physiological mechanisms of how emotions like fear, loneliness, pessimism, and depression can make the body sick, while love, intimate connection, optimism, and faith can cure you.

A cross section of the reviews for "Mind Over Medicine: Scientific Proof That You Can Heal Yourself,” by Lissa Rankin:

    This book rocked my world.

At least the first 1/3 of the book should be required by medical schools in directing doctors how to talk to and think about their patients (specifically the prognosis) in order to enhance a relaxed state for healing and prevent any nocebo effects. I honestly can't figure out why this isn't more mainstream since the potential in this approach can only be positive and would enhance any physician's skill set in a significant way. As a doctor, I appreciate that this book is not about assumptions or anecdotes. It's grounded in actual research, documented in the world's top journals. And you can tell that the author is an intelligent thinker. She streamlined hundreds of studies into logical conclusions that will be a game-changer in the healthcare industry in the future. I believe this book has that much potential to change people's lives, including my own.

Don't wait to change your life and improve your health. Get this book and read it ASAP

This book is excellently written for the lay person who needs scientific evidence to back up the findings. It offers practical ways to implement new beliefs that actually change physical maladies. I wish it were taught in schools so that children can learn early how to heal themselves. I highly recommend it.

    Good, but padded with repetition.

It helped me. The book is pretty repetitive though. It's about 300 pages, but could give the same info succinctly in 100-150 pages. If you need regular reminders of what you've already read and a bit of hand holding, maybe the extra reading is helpful. To me it was a bit annoying, but I'm still glad I read her book.

    Disappointing.

I value Lissa's experience AND her work sounds very much like Andrew Weil's and Louise Hay's. If you are familiar with their works, you will find this to be more of the same. There is nothing original here in my opinion.

No new learnings in this book.

Here is the summary of what this book is trying to state:
    1. Have a perfect life. If you don't have a perfect life, seek to make it perfect such as leave a difficult marriage, quit a stressful job, find the perfect partner, and so on.
    2. If you don't have a perfect life and have stress you can't get away from then meditate as meditation can neutralise the effects of chronic stress. If you can't meditate, be mindful.

I've tried to direct friends who's mothers had breast cancer, and who looked for/expected it for their adult life until guess what? it showed up... now their kids are getting checked to see if they have the gene....which to me is a big mistake, tell someone they have a pre-disposition to a disease they have seen their parents suffer or die from??? what do you think the result of that will be......they all believe that they have it in their genes and that knowedge is power......they knew their mothers had it and in my opinion they got it because they were expecting it....but unfortunately I never get any feedback on links to Bruce Lipton or Louise Hay ....

Thanks, Carmen. I can’t find the video, but it was Dr. Jerry Tennant that explained about ph balance in such a way that it all just clicked. It helped me get off a 40+ year, 8-10 cups of coffee habit. And a secondary benefit was sugar. It’s been seven months now.

Sadly many seem willing to reprogram themselves based on what someone else tells them and it becomes a self-fulfiling prophecy. Many have been self-diagnosed or diagnosed by a health care individual. When they die an autopsy shows no evidence of the talked about disease. Very strange.

Yes Bruce Lipton and Louise Hay are both excellent speakers/thinkers/writers.

We are programed from birth, to grow old and die, when in fact, these bodies are designed to be Immortal. Yep. This is why Source chose this Human thing to place its' Spirit within. Cuz in these bodies, our Spirit can live forever... in the Physical, without "ever" having to change from body to body.

This is it for me... I'm keepin this one... forever.

Y'all can do whatever... Your choice!!!

Could I recommend all books by Dr. Joe Dispenza? His latest, You Are The Placebo is great, as are his first two books. He provides step by step guidance on how to heal using your own god given abilities. He describes the physiology of the changes, how the mind and thoughts create changes in genes and DNA. And how stem cells move into areas of the body for which you place your concentration. The body is the physical mind. The overarching mind is outside the body and is a splinter of the greater consciousness and totality of all awareness.

Dr. Lipton has a book, co-authored with a comedian, named Spontaneous Evolution that is simply wonderful.

I love Bruce Lipton who has given me a new knowledge base. New knowledge and a new practice together change the brain and the neurochemistry which informs the body.

Dr. Joe is teaching people the knowledge and suggesting we become immersed in the "know how" through making internal effort to match intention, feeling and new thinking. We have to make time to do the practices of change.

Dr. Joe has demonstrated the practice through his own life experience. I am lucky enough to go to his Progressive workshop in Colorado in two weeks. My intention is to be a coach for his work.

I recommend his books too. People may listen to his videos on youtube.

While this information is cool, it certainly isn't new. For other good resources find Earnest Holmes, The Science of Mind (from the 1930s!!!) or Jeanne De Saltzmann, The Reality of Being (also decades old). Earnest Holmes' books are written in the common parlance, but the essence of physics and quantum complexities are clearly weaved throughout.

Delight, I'm so envious of you for getting to attend Dr. Dispenza's workshop. :D If only he'd come to Nashville or Atlanta.

Yes, true, conk. With us pulled in countless, outward directions, it's helpful to hear in another's voice what we already know. Reviews are an opportunity to see how far we’ve come months or even weeks ago.

Information in review, is a chance to access what's important and nix what unnecessarily drains our energy, and time with loved ones. It breathes new life into the whys and hows, or even question what really matters.

Dr Joe's story is incredible, knowing that this is someone who has walked his talk (considering he was paralyzed that is very appropriate!) really helps... and he has a very clean and concise way of explaining how we can create our own realities and heal ourselves. Love his books!

My apologies to you, conk. I took this sentence out of context. I agree that often what’s new is the old wrapped in a fresh package, expressed in current jargon to reach expanding population.

I was not familiar with Earnest Holmes. Here’s a free pdf for the, “The Science of Mind", by Earnest Holmes.

“…The first great discovery that man made was that he could think. This was the day when he rose from the ground and said, “I AM.” This marked the first great day of personal attainment; and from that day man because an individual and had to make all further progress himself; an compulsory evolution stopped when man became an individual, and from that day he had to work in conscious union with Nature and Her forces; but he did not have to work alone, for Instinctive Life has always been with him and will never depart from him. Instinctive Life desires that man shall express more and yet more, of its own limitless possibilities.

Man is evolving from an Infinite basis; behind him is the great Unknown but not the great unknowable; for the unknown becomes know through man and whatever more Instinctive Life is to do for him must be done through him. Nature must work through man in order to work for him. This is true all along the line of life and endeavor.”

I live near Atlanta and Chattanooga. I would love to see him nearby...let's intend THAT!!

Thanks so much for the pdf. I've wanted to share my hardcopy with a friend, but as we all know, books are seldom returned. Now I can share without risk.

    Love and Blessings!

I just came home from a workshop with Dr. Joe Dispenza in Colorado. It was very valuable to me. There is a necessary knowledge for the brain that if interested, people may study from the books (and I see the books of Dr. Dispenza as very well written and explained).

Then there is the absolute essential to ground knowledge into know how. One observation...Dr. Joe exudes energy. He gives SO much of himself when teaching. He was present 100% with the audience. Dr. Joe is traveling all over the world. His high energetic capacity is evidence his teaching is his own practice and works.

Change in a conscious way is the message by using methods that allow us to bring greater energy and greater information to any current situation thus transform. Dr. Joe emphasizes that the obstacle IS making time to do the work like meditate (becoming aware of being greater than circumstance and thought) and actually disconnecting from the squirrel race of daily life.

This is such nourishing and supportive practice for healing (in any area) by reconnecting to the unseen within that is the source of all that may be possible.
People who concentrate effort have made tremendous changes in the area of physical healing. But it expands people to all kinds of new and unfamiliar experiences. I am very happy to have connected with this material!!

A quick little story to illustrate this point. My 18 year old daughter can sing like an angel. Her tone, intonation, and phrasing is very unique. She wants to sing professionally, perhaps in a band. Her concern was getting people's attention and distinguishing herself from the many other good singers. I introduced her to Dr. Dispenza's videos and books. She embraced them totally and began to meditate in her room. We taught her how to enter an Alpha brainwave state and then ask God open ended questions. "What would it be like to sing for a huge crowd"? "What would it feel like to sense the appreciation of an audience"? She envisioned herself having these experiences and felt the extreme emotions in her heart field. She visualized events as if they had already happened or as if they were occurring this instance. I taught her that the solution was not hers to find, that the Universe would. Her responsibility was to detect and sync with clues and hints dropped on her path by God and to take action on those hints. To live serendipitously and in concert with her surroundings.

After a week of lengthy meditations (actually using one of Dr. Dispenza's CD guided meditations) her school asked her if she would be interested in singing at the graduation ceremony. A few days after that her mandolin teacher asked her if she wanted a job at the music school teaching voice. The next day she got a job singing at the Von Braun Civic Center. Things...started....falling....in....place! Now she works at the school and meets new musicians almost daily. She is in the circle or vortex of the music field, a place she had not been in prior to bending her intentions and thoughts.

    for new members and guests.

It’s easy to slip into fears of what the tricksters brew up for our wellbeing by way of the environment and all. Bruce Lipton’s books are a quick, easy read to get one back on track in terms of realigning one's beliefs.

The OP includes snippets and quick links with the video for those short on time.
